Whatever you said but one thing is sure without trading volume we would not have a bright ,,future'' for any coin. It might be manipulated any time so no big and serious investors.
As an individual you can say that I will hodl if I have confidence in the project. But in market, the major chunk of the investor (especially big) are those who analyse the economics of an asset and then invest accordingly. And trade volume is one of those important aspect. Minexcoin with very low trade volume would resist serious investors.

I am reading the white paper. Isn't it conflict of interest of Class A w.r.t to Class B shareholders? Because management can acquire both class A and class B shares but decision powers will be in the hand of only class A shareholders.
This is Bitcoin forum. Not a bounty forum. The fact that most complainers seem to be focused on making money is a good indication that the merit system is a step in the right direction.
You re missing one point out there, which is, an account cant give merits all the time, they will run out of their merit points, unless they are a "merit sources". So there will be no much biases on this merit system i guess. The key here is obviously to give merit to the right person, and who is that right person?
1. Who posts a quality posts.
2. Has a great forum manner.
3. Can decide a good posts out of bias.
I guess they must fulfill this 3 category to a user before they give the merits. So the person who are given the merit can pass the merit to the right person too, and in the end the merits will be circulated in to right person and will diminish people who only join this forum to rank up and gain money. And for now, i guess the old high rank members/users are persons that have enough knowledge in crypto and have good forum manner so thats why some of them are sources, so just let them do their job and hope they will do it perfectly.
Dont get me wrong, i love getting money from this forum, but i am not like people who only focusing this forum to earn money, and when they can not get the money, they will whine about it in this forum because of merit. Your whole argument just don't have any value and collapsed on its own weight when you have inserted just one word above (in red). There is spamming because this forum can be used to make money. This merit system is introduced to control the spamming and shit-posting and it's only retarded the speed of users to be ranked up. It is just like to give opium to control a naughty kid.

Then the campaigns are wasting their money. They will quickly catch on that it's not feasible paying a junior member that can't even link anywhere now the same as a member.We saw newbies getting pushed out of campaigns in the past and with this change, I'm pretty sure juniors will sooner or later be excluded from most paid signatures as well.
What that means? You need to be a member (10 merit) to participate in bounties/signature campaigns. For new users, that means making quality posts.
It was just an example. My logic is what if campaign manager pay according to activity rather than rank. The whole purpose of this new system will collapse. About wasting money I don't think so. Because money is generated through development and marketing. Campaigns are just a small part of marketing.

You missed that the only reason the bounty campaigns care about rank is that it gives a bigger signature space with more styling options. theymos also removed links from Jr Member accounts just before bringing in the merit system. They're not going to pay people to advertise if they can't even put a link to their site in it.

Now, I see there is a problem. Currently, all the spamming is due to multi-accounts a person has to increase his/her bounties. They spam to increase their rank to win more bounty. It is already known that developers of a coins have majority of multi-accounts. It cannot be proved and disproved altogether. And even if it is not the case, the developers can simply launch activity based bounty campaign rather than rank based. Spammers will still abuse the system.
IMHO, with or without this merit system we need an extensive moderator program to eliminate/suspend users from spamming.
