Introducing the 3 whitepapers that pave the path for BTA

https://bata.io/development

I had the pleasure of reading this early!  Great whitepaper, keep up the good work!

Hello I have set up a Slack Channel for BTA.

Please note that it will not be manned 24/7

https://bata-blockchain.slack.com/signup

Hi it seems like only those with a bata.io address can have access to this slack channel

Should open this up to all signups.

Hey all,

Has anyone tested the p2.8xlarge or p2.16 series from amazon?  I know returns aren't likely to be had, but wondering what type of hashing power these produce.

Thanks!

p2.8xlarge

CPU (xmr stak cpu 22 threads...46MB of L3 cache)

840 h/s

GPU

1.9KH/s

so total of 2.740KH/s

less than my previous estimate due to the fact i thought there was a higher L# cache on the p2 instance cpus...there isnt , so cpu performance is similar

p2.16xlarge would be twice that at 5.5KH/s

per cpu/gpu core the performance is almost identical to the g2 instances...(ie grid k520 is just as fast if not faster than a k80 when it comes to cryptonight)

a g2.8xlarge with 32vcpus and 4 grid k520s does 800 or so cpu and 1k GPU (from 4 gpu cores)..

Thank you! Exactly the information I was looking for! Smiley

I've tried searching and maybe it's already been done, but has anyone compiled PrimePoolMiner successfully on either Ubuntu 12/14, or Centos 6.x?

Nevermind, got the download to finally work.  How do I setup a solo mining .conf for this?
There is no .conf for solo mining

1. Start deamon, and wait to sync
2. start wallet
3 enter in wallet  "start_mining x" ( without quotes)  ( where X is number of cores)
4 wait
Now you will need to wait about half hour to get first block.
When it was lanuched I get new block every few seconds

Hmm, there has to be a way to setup a conf, so you can mine this via GPU and other CPU miners for cryptonight?

How come the attached ccminer doesn't work for 750 Ti's?>

Go to cudamining.co.uk and download any of the NVminer 's use -a fresh

I've tried nvminer, i'm not getting any sort of shares submitted..

@hashlink
how to use nvidia ccminer on your pool ?
can't use --difficulty-multiplier on ccminer

neither cpu or ccminer are working for me. shows hashrate but no yay or boo.

is there similar flag to --difficulty-multiplier we can use on ccminer ? or screwed ?

?

-f 256 also doesn't help

just showing hash still, no yays or boos.. using nvidia ccminer.

im going to have to ditch this coin soon =\

same thing for me here.... not one single share submitted..

Here a first version of ccminer with cryptonite support (binaries windows).

ccminer -a m7

https://mega.co.nz/#!tM1HyTqL!jS9Ak6UK-AQkLC-850Fq4g382eYJySw7mCwSWCxfK-Q

It should work, however there are still a few things to correct:
* relatively large amount compare to other algo of share which doesn't validate on cpu (probably whirlpool)
* You might have while starting mining on 1gh a long chain of boo because of the low diff (like for HVC, If I remember well).
Just let the miner run, until it stabilizes

Please report any other problems, especially if you run on other algo to be sure that I didn't break anything and all the algos are still fully functional. I will release the source a bit later once things are more stable and I am sure that the m7 doesn't break anything.

Working great so far djm!! Very nice job SmileySmiley

Soooo.... still no GPU miner for win users? or amd? or bounties for that?

I tried for 16 hours to get it to work, and eventually gave up..  I wish the next person the best of luck Sad

I'm going on 8+ hours of trying to get CudaMiner to compile on Windows.

I'm completely stuck with the following:

nvcc -Xptxas "-abi=no -v" -arch=compute_35 --ptxas-options=-v   -O2 -o trashminer.o -c trashminer.cu
trashminer.cu
trashminer.cu(50) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'gmp.h': No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [trashminer.o] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/c/CudaMiner-master'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/c/CudaMiner-master'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Keep in mind gmp.h is available and correctly installed, and I have even went a step above and beyond by copying it to almost every location / subfolder in CudaMiner-master.

Going on 8+ hours so far, and can't get this silly thing compiled on Windows.. I've even tried to compile it on nix, which I was successful, but porting it over to windows it now complains about the minerd.exe binary being 32bit.. and of course my o/s is 64bit

Well.. It's a new day and I'm back at it.  Still stuck on the compile process for CudaMiner on windows..

What's strange about the below error is that gmp.h does exist and was checked during the configure process.. I've also copied the gmp.h file to CudaMiner-master / compact, and a few other places.. Not sure why its not finding it..

Error:

nvcc -Xptxas "-abi=no -v" -arch=compute_35 --ptxas-options=-v   -O2 -o trashminer.o -c trashminer.cu
trashminer.cu
trashminer.cu(50) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'gmp.h': No such file or directory

make[2]: Leaving directory `/c/CudaMiner-master'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/c/CudaMiner-master'
make: *** [all] Error 2

It isn't where it search for it... (not sure that's help a lot...  Grin)

Doh.. well this has become quite the task lol.  I see your username / handle written all over this trashminer.cu Wink.  Give me a better hint hah.
well it isn't mine (even though my name is everywhere) Grin

heh Smiley  Well.. I've literally copied my gmp.h in every folder/subfolder under CudaMiner-master, and its still complaining that the file is not there.  Keep in mind that it is also a few MinGW MinGW64 folders as well..
I would bet for include (mingw32) or msys/include (but I didn't try to install it)

Ohh, its in both of those locations also..  Take a look at the screenshot below
