So who is maintaining GB now? I have not seen any posts lately. Maybe we should start a slack channel or something to help facilitate better communication. Any thoughts on this?

I don't really have any issues with the wallet but if the errors can be reproduced, then we should get it fixed. Also, maybe looking into adding a masternode system to GB would help with providing syncing services? Might be something we could fund development of as a community, I know I would be interested.

First, compounding happens not annually, but is dependent on the number of masternodes you own (when you can spin up another). Second, he is in full ROI the entire time, as the original assets are still available to him. Also, why are you comparing his future interest gains to what he would realize now by selling the base asset? Do you have an alternate plan for him to put his now realized gains to work that will earn a similar return?

Walter (like most of us) think DASH will continue to go up in buying power over the long term. Just like any other investment asset that someone holds, they hold it because of increased future value. Walter has a way to help the value of his investment outside of just holding, by providing services to the network. Also he gets interest payments as the cherry on top.

I know right. Icebreaker is one creepy dude. The ridiculous hair, the bluetooth headset, stealing thousands of BTC from customers, his obsessive concern trolling about DASH and now even other people's children. Who would actually hang out with this guy in real life? No wonder he spends so much time on here.

Everyone seems to think that the DDOS was a network attack with malicious intent. Perhaps it was just a deep-pocketed potential investor doing due diligence to test some of the theories of various trolls. Or maybe it was the new major exchange that is about it add DASH, to see if instant send would continue to work in such a situation. Bitcoin has been stress tested in the past by Bitcoin supporters, and I think that DASH will have to prove itself in the same ways.

We have had this discussion about a million times, and the reality is that the way we have it now is probably ideal. You can't punish people for not voting, that's undemocratic. The addition of the abstain option in 12.1 helps some with this, but really, if I don't care one way or another about a proposal I am not gonna open my wallet to vote abstain, when I could just not vote. Even if I think a proposal is the greatest thing ever, if it's obviously going to pass with an overwhelming YES - No ratio, why would I vote? If you are holding on to $20k USD worth of an asset, you better damn well get to decide if you want to vote or not along with how you vote.

I DO vote on things that I feel strongly about and look like the vote may be close. But that's my choice, no one else's.

The problem you are trying to fix doesn't exist. If someone put in this "theoretical proposal" that obviously only benefited themselves, my previous abstention from voting does not remove my ability to vote NO on future proposals. I read all the proposals, and I think other MN do as well for the most part. Just because my vote isn't in the final count of most previous proposal results has no bearing on future vote participation.

So does 12.1 bring the ability to remote start a masternode from a hardware wallet? If so, can somebody point me to a guide on how to do that?

Yea, I had just saw that today, that's why I asked the question. I have 2gb ram, unlimited data, ddos protection, etc. Just curious if I need to make a rash choice about provider change or if I have time to do a bit of research. Trying to narrow it down now. I'm assuming the added space requirements are for sentinel, but I kind of doubt its going to be heavily used for the first few weeks.

I guess if it doesn't work I'll just make the switch. Thanks for the help.
