If there's ever a name change voting, my choice would be of naming it "datum" (with ticker DATA) Wink

I'd love to have something like:

Choccywoccydoodah

https://www.choccywoccydoodah.com

But, for SPR  Grin

lol, now that's what i'd call a delicious address.... better than www.llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.co.uk

Uncommon problem - I have mined quite a lot of blocks and want to move to another address/exchange.
Now when  I try to send about 900 (quantity?! I am not sure how these are called - in this particular case they are the blocks) there is a fee and the transaction goes through:

http://i.imgur.com/3I43q5G.png

The problem is when I try to send more (quantity) I hit the maximum for a transaction and wallet would not process the transaction.
The following appears after I enter my wallet encryption key and hit enter:

http://i.imgur.com/b3KByOl.png

And then:

http://i.imgur.com/uIoCAvO.png

What is the limit of a transaction (max quantity or bytes or something)?
I could go ahead and select them (quantity/blocks) manually but that would be a physical and mental challenge:
ARROWDOWN, SPACE, ARROWDOWN, SPACE, ARROWDOWN, SPACE, ARROWDOWN, SPACE, ARROWDOWN, SPACE,  and so on... thousands of times!
That "problem" is very peculiar and I wouldn't think it would a be a very common one.
Still - does anybody have any ideas how to proceed, so I make my life easier?

Too many dust transactions: It happens often.

You should use "coin control" in order to combine some of the largest unspent outputs you have in your wallet with a few of the smaller ones, creating bigger outputs: repeat this as many times as needed until you reduce the too large number of tiny outputs you've got in your wallet.

...

Options > Display coin control features
and then
Send Coins > Inputs

@CfB, it should not be a mystery... the best solution will always be the best solution to IOTA longterm.
I say go with the technically sound solution. No need to do things out of hurry and scare. It does not hurt if it takes some more days of testing. Bring the best IOTA to life as possible. And if you can make it stable and secure, avoiding future needs of fixes or changes, even better.
I trust you will do your best!

Hi I sent a payment for the crowdsale in December, and I used a single address account on the mycelium Android app. I now need to sign my Iota address with that BTC address and send cfb the signature. Any help would be welcome:)

I guess the steps would be:
 - swipe to the left "Account" window;
 - select the account you will want to sign with;
 - on the menu options, select "Sign Message";
 - enter your pin code;
 - select key for signing;
 - enter the message that you want to sign;
 - sign message
 - and so on...

Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace

Is it possible to integrate BitBay with this?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1316199.0;topicseen

I guess it's possible since we have CLTV, but the question is why?
We have been able to do the same thing with our smart contracts for a year already. Actually I think our smart contracts are superior. The solution you are linking to requires every participating coin to have CLTV. The BitBay client can be used to trade any coin safe and decentralized.

Smart contracts are really nothing to do with it, its about cross chain transfers to exchange the usage of services on one blockchain with the token value of another, or perhaps simply trading one token for another trustlessly.

Would it be something like this, using sidechains:

I'd also like to congratulate the works for BitBay! Do your best!

How many developers are actually working on this coin? I think that group of people behind it is really small. I don't understand why people see future in it and what is causing the price growth?
Maybe you should read more than one page of this thread.

It's a good Q

How many?
If i am interested in a project like this, it doesn't matter how many pages i'd have to read.
So no, this is one of the most stupid questions i ever read on BTT.
To estimate the success on a basis like "how many devs are behind this" is just... yeah... stupid.

//e
small hint: page 1.

It's not a stupid question. Your response is stupid. All the altcoins I've seen so far are big disappointment and not long term investment if there is shitty group of people behind it.

In any case, it's up to each responsible investor to accomplish the due diligences, doing his own research, and finding his own responses, in order to be able to decide about the status of any cryptocurrency, according to his personal requisites and demands.

I think distrubution is key at this point. 1000 's / 10.000 's of people must be able to join in and get this project up and running.

If we all sit around with the Warp in our Wallets then nothing happens.

How can we distribute:

- Launch a Faucet
- Do some kind of contest - signature design / meme design / video / roadmap
- Make a gambling site WarpDice.com

This is all to generate momentum and creating a community.

I am not a huge holder but would be willing to donate to the development.

Looking forward to the development of the features so a sharp roadmap can be made.

Let me know what you guys think.

All good points! I'll be working the next days to bring more awareness to the project.
I see excitement even outside of this thread. Some people have contacted me that they missed the sale, and are looking forward to a market.
We should not be very desperate to get listed, though. The interest will rise and the markets will naturally open.

About the faucet, I can pay for the cost of running one - as long as no advertisement is used in the page for personal profit. Will also donate the 600 coins I have left.
Anybody that would like to set one up, let me know.

I've actually registered warpdice.com domain the other day. Will set it up. Maybe someone want to invest some WARP in it?

Advertising will come, new website, videos, etc.

I have meetings today and tomorrow with developers to create WARP related services. I'll be letting people know what I'm working on.
Anybody that would like to work together, please ring!

It's good to see warp's advancing. I wish you success!

What a really interesting chart.  Its got the brain cells working away faster than normal. There is a mention of side chains with bitcoin in the PoBN white paper, but if Dash were to add support for side chains, then that opens up so many opportunities for every project. Great contribution, thanks.

Thank you, coins101. Coincidentally this idea is on topic today for DASH:

New interview with Andreas Antonopoulos talking about Dash as a sidechain of Bitcoin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSq-58ElBzk&t=20m1s

Is this related to the budget about travel to Satoshi Roundtable Conference?

You can't make Dash into a side-chain, it's immune to that. The economic model won't function properly on a side chain and whole thing will be insecure. Who's paying the masternodes an incentive, where is that money coming from? Wink

I understand what you're saying, but I think he was talking about sidechains connecting on either end to Dash (or other coin's chain) and Bitcoin, allowing for distributed exchanges.
http://imagize[Suspicious link removed]ageshack.us/v2/xq90/922/acaM8U.png

Where you buy, momentarily, into the side chain to switch from one coin to the other, and the "price of a side chain "coin" would be based on the exchange rate agreed to.  There would be no holding of this sidechain coin, it's only a unit of transfer.  I don't know if I'm making sense, but I think this is what he was talking about in part of what he said, though he also suggested new coins could be created off a sidechain of the Bitcoin Blockchain, thus inheriting Bitcoin's security.  Two different points.  Unless I understood him incorrectly??

Lets say I have a couple of kids, John & Suzy.  I believe the future is digital currencies and I want to make a wallet for each of my children.  In each of their wallets they could have an address for College Fund, Candy money, Favorite Charity...etc etc. in each of their wallets.  I also want a wallet for my own personal things and shopping and maybe a wallet for my home business(in the future everyone is using DASH).

I'd want to install all these on my home pc server....someday I'll give lil Johny and Suzy their digital wallets...but for now I manage them all and sock money away for them.  D
My suggestion is that you make paper wallets for the DASH you intend to stock for your kids

 - John's College Fund PaperWallet address
 - John's CandyMoney Fund PaperWallet address
and
 - Suzi's College Fund PaperWallet address
 - Suzi's CandyMoney Fund PaperWallet address

For your personal things, a DASH wallet app in your phone (Android or iOS) would fit perfect, specially because you wouldn't be carrying a huge some with you ( most part should go to a MN share  Wink )

For your home business: then you would need something "more robust". I'd stick to the DASH core client on your computer

But, anyway, multi wallet configuration is easier done than explained. That would be a great solution as well

Let me get this right. By the 7th (latest) i will be able to test a service node on testnet?

If so will they have decentralised block ex?

IMO, I don't think exact dates matter now, but it does look like testing will begin in Feb.

Georgem has given a reasonable time window, but the more important announcements that haven't been factored and which should give this community huge confidence is that Georgem says this is going to be a full time effort and he will likely do a video update.

Back in May 2015, there were discussions about a p2p exchange. That was based around creating some form of anonymous accounts hosted by serivcenodes to create a decentralised form of Coinbase.

A few months ago Evan over at Dash began releasing details about Evolution which we now know has some similar ideas.

... they love and envy the technology so much they wanna steal it and start "DASH Classic" LOL. Good luck, losers Wink

Just for future reference, some of the good stuff in evolution was discussed elsewhere in a reasonably similar context, before the evolution paper.

http://i.imgur.com/4hZSTPN.png

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/19djUkzO04BhgKrh4VURFC55bI8zvo8qspSmWhJPuXrY/edit#slide=id.p

Not wishing to diminish the work being done on Evolution, though. Not in the least.

It's all good. And it's all Open Source.

What would be really interesting is to find a way to create a bridge between two crypto currencies using the serivcenodes / masternodes.  This is like currency transfers in the real world and would open up a path over the next 10-20 years for nations to adopt crpto as a mechanism to digitally transact their national fiat currencies - although that opens up problems with regulations  that might be difficult to resolve in the immediate future.

Still the Evolution work is likely to take between 12 months to 24 months and that is the timing for getting 3000 to 5000 bitcoin nodes on the network, so a few weeks to wait for testing is no big deal when the size of the prize is a decentralised Coinbase and PayPal, with an ability to exchange value with bitcoin, Dash, SPR, ETH, etc.

Crypto has never been so exciting as its about to get.

I agree with you, and I know SPR has got a huge role to play.

Even though I am but a mere newbie, I dare ask if what came to my mind would be feasible for Spreadcoin:

http://oi63.tinypic.com/2s6lc3a.jpg

I guess what I'm talking about SPR having a sidechain on each main cryptocurrency...

... does it at least make any sense (coding illiterate here  Embarrassed)

Please, keep up the amazing work! Do your best!

Does anyone know how to sign Iota address with a BTC address if a purchase was sent from Electrum? A short guide in Italian (or English at least) would help one of our camarades.

I hope this is still valid:

Make sure electrum is running so do sanitycheck: ( this is done in shell terminal or windows command promp!)

Code:
electrum

then see what this command tells you. If not works then go to directory where you downloaded electrum and try

Code:
./electrum help signmessage
and should come back as

Code:
Signs a message with a key
Syntax: signmessage

If it works and you can reach electrum through terminal and get some response back then you can next do this:

Code:
electrum signmessage

Where is
put your address which one you want to prove you have control over.
Where is just copy paste the full message with how many lines you need but make sure to convert it from multiple lines to one LONG line with notepad or something so it is just one huge long line instead of multiple line with space inbetween.

Hope i helped!
Address is 1EvCVytASszoUq6S7ioPaLQScjg8ptt5s9 if you feel generous.
If no works then post here and I can help again

other resources: by google searching I found plenty.

I hope it helps.

such a shame that you wear the spreadcoin name while behaving like shit on forums. spreadcoin is a serious project, with a great community, they do not deserve to have their image smudged by your uninvited stupidity
