Re: Great Giveaway from Cointelegaph and Sponsors!

Read all the details and there are too many steps to complete to be eligible to get anything. Sounds like a chore. I am out.

I've read it, too much to do  Roll Eyes
and I feel down when viewing all task

Well you can't get something for nothing.

In a giveaway you usually do. Strictly speaking this is not a giveaway, rather a low risk game, where you have to buy something and hope to win more.

Sounds reasonable.

Fascinating. My vote's for the lucky little guy.

Have your company name included in Cointelegraph Business Catalog for free with no expiry date!

Share this article via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google + or Reddit and include the following line: “CoinTelegraph is celebrating its one year anniversary.”
Be sure to shoot an email to drop@cointelegraph.com with a link to your share (re: CT Birthday).

The five companies which have gathered the most likes and reposts/ retweets/ upvotes etc. by the end of the auction (the likes are calculated collectively
for each company if the article is shared on several social networks) will be placed in our Business Catalog for free with no expiry date.

One social network plus one email is enough to participate, right?

A small tip: when making your prediction, don't forget to include a link on your Facebook or Twitter share. This way we can pay you faster. If we aren't able to check this information, we'll pay to another participant who is closer than you.

Hey, please let us know who won! It's time we knew who gets the prizes!

Damn I was close.
They've got the WINNER
congrats for the winner but i miss my guess...

Good thread, now I can see why there is less people who are willing to join pools
Is it difficult to mine by yourself?

Well... less profitable.

p2pool is great invention and just if pool are good and nice for users - p2pool rules and no mather what is more profitable than solo mining.

Very true, I quite agree.

As I have read noone exactly can answer this question as there are 2 opposite opinions on it. Btw I think the opinion that mining is worthless is more popular than the opposite opinion.

Re: Internet Speed Requirements
by

on 26/02/2014, 09:48:13 UTC
Is there any internet speed requirement for mining purpose?

Is 1Mbps (128 kBytes/s) enough?
Is 10Mbps (1.25 kBytes/s) better or needless?

Thanks!
I am planning to build my first rig
Bitcoin mining is based on GPU, not internet speed.
It uses a tiny 1kb/minute or something like that.

Thanks a lot for this post. before that I was thinking it is directly proportional to the  internet speed.
