Re: Building headless Bitcoin and Bitcoin-qt on Windows

I'm having an issue compiling an alt qt. From what I can tell, this is an issue with building a static/shared dependency miniupnpc. For the life of me I can't get past this error though no matter what I try.

Things I've tried;
  • Compile shared and static miniupnpc with  mingw32-make makefile.mingw upnpc-shared/static
  • Tried disabling miniupnpc by qmake use_upnp=-
  • Tried grabbing an old version of miniupnpc and using that
  • Successfully built Bitcoind and Bitcoin-QT to make sure all deps were good

Here is the error.
Code:

Well my apologies. 5 minutes after posting this I figured it out. Based on this, I figured out that I needed to add this line to my Makefile.Release generated by qmake.

Code:

I recently purchased some HYP and was looking to download the software/client.  I went to the wiki>installation and it starts with the following:

Paste this code on a shell (Unix only, or Windows with MinGW). This assumes you already have the required dependencies installed (including git).

Please help as I am ignorant.  Other than copy and paste I understand nothing.

the only way this problem is going to stop is with the creation of a developer registry to act as a proxy for developers.

the registry would verify the developers personal information and development history.

developers would then be able to remain anonymous and use the registry verified seal of approval.

if the developer ended up being a scam, the registry would reserve the right to expose all of their personal information.

the registry could of course charge a fee and/or require some form of deposit.

just a thought. somebody please make this happen as i am not smart enough.

http://coinssource.com/trust

while that site is certainly useful, it doesn't really address the issue with brand new coins.

while it would be easy to add mantiscoin to the current list with a negative trust, it does nothing to help the early adopters of new coins.

the early adopters are of course the ones who end up paying the price with these scam coins.

I agree with you. That's why I've now taken a stance that I will not be an early adopter of any coin anymore without them taking proof of developer and trust sources. Hopefully if the community as a whole starts doing this, it will cut down on the amount of scams.

I can get a seed node up and put the p2pool back up, but honestly, it will have to be on a free amazon ec2 instance which doesn't have much horsepower. All my other servers are consumed with other projects.

If you want to pm me and we can work out bootstrapping the blockchain to make sure i'm on the right one, that would be nice.

The coin on that exchange is no CCO, the address isn't the same. I'm pretty sure this coin is dead unless someone wants to reorg and get another dev to pick it up and move on.
Hello everyone,
the coin is not dead but there have bene major setbacks in my personal life.

My mother has been extrememly ill this summer as has my father and I have been caring for them.

squiggie, would you like to be added as an admin, I would like to get some more community members involved now that I am finally able to so this does not happen.

we can always hardfork to x11 or another algo if needed.

I just contacted the "other" C-Coin (CCN) community and let them know I am willing to give reciprocity of value on this chain as their developer seemed to be gone.

So, anyone who wants to be a coin dev, I'd be glad for the help.

again, sorry for the issues I want to get others to help here on the development side so in case my parents end up dead soon I can have someone else around to help.

I'm getting the ccoin.info page back up soon, just gotta get the info from beastlymac.

Thanks everyone.

BTW, I'm adding a few seednodes again here. My last block on file was on 5/15/14. Squiggie, can you confirm if there is a higher level chain?
Does anyone have an active node for me to peer with to get up to date?

thank you so much to everyone who has allowed me to take this time to care for my parents. Now, let's get this going.

Sorry to hear about your family Joe. Obviously, that comes first so do what you need to do to take care of them.

The alt scene has significantly changed since cco was launched. People no longer really care too much about scrypt clones anymore. To be frank, no one really cares about them unless they bring some significant changes to the scene with development features. People would have to see something special in cco to adopt it and there just isn't.

I would be interested in helping you out in any way possible, but there would need to be a clear roadmap of development for it to do any good. I don't necessarily have a problem with leaving it as a scrypt coin, because with the asics out, they would promote a secure and healthy network. I'm still not opposed to enabling auxpow to merge mine with other scrypt clones. Honestly, I think that's probably the best way to secure a coin now is to make it a long term partner with ltc or something.

Let me know how I can help and I will. Oh, and welcome back.

what happened with SRCC?  Huh
24-hour Volume: 0.00000000 BTC in poloniex
I will continue to hold true to value better  Smiley
are there any plans to incorporate SRCC another exchange, like bittrex?
how to Cryptsy?
I see this: 24-hour Volume: 0.20022846 BTC

yes now 0.20022846 BTC
My previous post is 24-hour Volume: 0.00000000 BTC
OK, hopefully the movement of a significant

It's just a lack of value right now. No one has the motivation to either sell their srcc or buy some since it can't really be used for anything. However, all that will change in the coming months when we start to integrate srcc into the site more. Keep watch for that and then it will take off.

CoinsSource is hard at work trying to address this issue head on. As long as the community keeps supporting these kinds of coins, people will continue to put their garbage out. If the community, and developers come together to create solutions to solve this issue, it will fall off.

We're working on a Trust Index that looks to address this issue from a developer side. Please see how we plan to do this and support us if you're interested.

A few of us Coins Source team members have created a small 'manual' multipool to help srcc. I'm curious if anyone in the community, stakeholders or not, would be interested in joining us in this multipool.

The payouts, in srcc, would be done manually until we can actually devote some time and resources to scripting them or partnering with an established multipool i.e. Chunky Pools or Hashcows

If we could get maybe 10-15 miners, with whatever hashing power you have, I think we could do some good to infuse buying power into the srcc market and make it more attractive for other exchanges to list. If you're interested, please let me know by sending a PM here or contacting me through coinssource.com

Thanks!

Re: Antminer S1 not hashing
by

on 23/07/2014, 21:10:33 UTC
I'm wondering if someone could help me. I purchased an antminer s1 a couple of months ago. Up until a few days ago, it had been mining for about 2 months straight without any issues. Recently, it has started shutting down and by that I mean it stop mining. The whole unit doesn't shut down, as I can still access the web interface and ssh, but it's like cgminer stops working and it will eventually reset itself after a few minutes.

The only change that has been done in the past few months is not even really related to this unit. I switched all my GPU rigs over to x13 and the only commonality between the ant and the GPU rigs are they run on the same circuit. I know, or almost know, it isn't a power issue since the unit stays on and no GPU rigs are affected. I don't believe it's a temperature thing as the mining room actually runs a lot cooler now that I've switched from scrypt to x13. The unit gets not hotter than 45C on each blade. I did just recently try updating the firmware to the most recent one from Bitmain and that didn't help.

This crashes about 3-4 times a day. My problem is I don't see anything in the logs, kernel or system, to show any kind of issue. I don't know enough about how the filesystem is for the any to go looking for other logs so any help in that area would be appreciated. I'm sure there has to be a way to obtain more detailed logs from cgminer or something else to see what's going on. Suggestions?

are you going to get Poloniex to fix this problem or not ?

[ANN][SRC] SecureCoin | A Fast and Secure Version of Bitcoin | LAUNCHED
Post by BARITUS a WELL KNOWN DEV on August 09, 2013, 11:21:55 AM - 60 pages long... http://securecoin.org/

The funniest part of all is i told you right away and so did a toooooon of other people when you posted about this coin in Main/ALT like a month or two ago..
you said whoops you'd fix it and this was before any exchange.. instead you went and got Poloniex to add it using the symbol SRC
WHEN you knew better ! ..but did it anyway

I feel sorry for anyone that buys, sells or arb's or tries to deposit these two coins on exchanges.. or buys into your IPO scam crap.
you knew better and it should be obvious why.
i also told Poloniex mods on chat the other day and the basically they said who cares.. real classy

This is why noobs should not be copying and pasting IPO scrypt clone coins.. going to make a new coin using the trade symbol BTC next ? lol

Not surprising behavior from an IPO pusher  Roll Eyes

get it fixed yet ?

We're working on it. Thanks for your concern.
