Re: Altcoin GANGSTERS poll - who willl rot in prison for scam?

Is true free market compatible with regulation? I'd say no. I think crypto is on the "right" track at this stage despite all the scams, etc.

FWIW for Mintpal:

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

Dear MintPal Customer,

A few months ago, MintPal Exchange, the popular cryptocurrency exchange, fell apart due to alleged fraud and embezzlement by a con artist going by the name "Alex Green"/Ryan Kennedy/Ryan Gentle, CEO of Moolah LTD. Moolah was responsible for management of MintPal at the time.

As a shareholder of the company that acquired MintPal prior to its fallout, I have gained access to the old servers of MintPal where Monero keys were stored. Monero is the only major altcoin where all wallet balances are still intact, presumably due to an oversight by Ryan. All other major altcoin wallets appear to be empty. There is a criminal investigation ongoing regarding Moolah and Ryan Kennedy/Gentle, and we are working with law enforcement to seek retribution for our customers.

It took me some time due to all the legal hurdles surrounding this case to send you this email, and while the criminal and civil cases against Ryan are far from over, I no longer wish to remain the custodian of coins that belong to you.

The recovered database indicates that you have Monero coins in your MintPal wallet. In order to process the withdrawal of these coins, please respond to this email by Mar 31 and include the following information:

1) Your new Monero deposit address in your sole control where I can return your coins.

2) Payment ID associated with the deposit address.

3) Estimated amount of XMR coins in your MintPal wallet. Leave blank if you can't remember. I have your record from the MintPal database back up taken prior to migration to V2.

So 50 years from now someone will be digging in your backyard, find a paper wallet for like 1BTC and it will be worth 1 Billion USD (which will be just enough for a loaf of bread in 50 years time, assuming USD still exists) Cheesy

The .ics "live" update MojuCoin™ system appears to be stable. As such please note that the MojuCoin™ standalone app will be archived for now, ie. removed from Google Play Store. Those using the standalone app should still be able to access data, consider it a gift for being a beta tester :p

Hello, guys

I want to write a program which is used to control electronic machines at home when you are in office, is there any document or source code regarding this, I prefer to golang to complete this.

Ah, Internet Of Things? On the Apple side there is Homekit: https://developer.apple.com/homekit/

BEWARE THOUGH NSA CAN USE YOUR HOME APPLIANCES TO SPY ON YOU

Yes, good idea, but BTC needs to be within 1 HOUR  Wink

Kudos to tackling this problem.

However, in Australia for one, you will now need ID documents of buyer, unfortunately.

Re: 'randomArt' for bitcoin adresses . feedback please.
by
srmojuze

I want to have some feedback on this idea:
Sometimes it is unavoidable to type in a btc-address (when you can't use a QR or simply copy/paste), this sucks because it is easy to make a mistake. If there was a visualization of the btc-addresses (just a generated .png) it is easy to compare images and check if you made a typo. Would that be useful to have?

The idea is somewhat what you see when generating SSH keys ( http://superuser.com/questions/22535/what-is-randomart-produced-by-ssh-keygen ), but a lot more user-friendly.

The prototype I have now uses a md5 translated into colors, placed in a simple grid. like this  http://ctrlv.in/463889

(I've tried some more complex patterns first, but that actually made it more difficult to compare.)

With some effort this could be created in CSS also, so it can be used on any website.

I know there would need to be some agreement on how to generate the images to make it really useful.

Cool idea Smiley

Hi, this is my code to generate coloured blocks in HTML/CSS etc. based on Bitmessage address as on https://BitChirp.org ...Each user has their own "grid" or "row" of colours eg. https://bitchirp.org/user/?u=BM-2D85ZkbLckdMRoh3pknCrvS7av66dtWadF

https://github.com/srmojuze/BitChirp
https://github.com/srmojuze/BitChirp/blob/master/_Wordpress_Theme/fightthefuture/_includes/_chirp_user_00.php

Amazingly, the colour harmonies are quite nice.

Cheers...!

Re: How much would it cost to build my own lab?
by
srmojuze
on 13/11/2014, 10:43:29 UTC
I'm interested in building a lab to house biochemistry experiments. I'm not sure exactly what experiments I'll be doing but I have a good understanding of biochemistry and genetics since I have a degree in the subject so knowledge-wise, I should be OK. I'll need a PCR machine, centrifuge, spectrophotometer, etc. Raw materials will also be needed and replenished at regular intervals.

What price range am I looking at here? Anyone else do research as a hobby here?

I used to do the ol' PCR back in the day. I ~was~ blown away at the cost of enzymes, etc.

I suggest though we are playing with the code of life and forces beyond our control.

I do NOT recommend you proceed.

No I'm in the UK. But I spent 7 months in Oz last year and you're right they do seem to be involved in btc quite a bit.

Have you been to any Bitcoin meetups to meet the crypto community in person? Guys/gals it should be interesting to do some "real world" connecting and talking about crypto.

Re: Official Interstellar Movie Thread

Nolan only uses the science to convey a sense of reality of interstellar travel so that we may become more involved in the story

Nolan raises some important points though. In most science fiction eg. Mass Effect people are flying all over the galaxy and somehow everyone has the same "clock".

Any major interstellar travel would mean a lot of time dilation because Mass Effect etc. has fixed timelines for everyone in the galaxy, but Einstein theorised and it is proven now that time is linked with space in this 4D "glue". Even if you fold spacetime to instantly go from one point in 4D to another point, in 4D there are different "timespeeds" at different points in 4D.

So just like Space Odyssey 2001 expanded our consciousness of space travel beyond tabloid sci-fi of that generation, so does Interstellar expand our consciousness beyond the Star Trek/ video game idea of space travel.

Nolan presents both a scientific, spiritual and socioeconomic case of what interstellar travel for humans really would mean.

I still love Mass Effect 1,2,3 though, best sci-fi games ever. Deus Ex HR comes second.
