Re: Lot of Miners for Sale - UPDATE

Here's a complete list of inventory:

51 - Custom miner shelves (hold 3 ASIC miners, like S9, L3+, Siaminer, B3, D9 with power supplies
36 - HP EO4501 24A 220V PDUs
16 - NetGear JGS524E 24 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switches (5 new in box)
1 -Cisco 3560 PoE 24 port switch
59 - 1U Horizontal Cable Management with cover (16 new in box)
1 - Roomalert 4e Temperature monitor with 2 external Temperature monitors (50' cable each)
1 -  Sonicwall TZ300
47 - Bitmain S9 Miners
73 - Bitmain L3+ Miners
2 - Dragonmint Sia coin Miner
3 - Bitmain Antminer (Bytom)
2 - Innosilicon D9 - one has one bad hash board
133 Power Supplies (6 new in box)
Numerous 3', 6', 10' 15' and 25' patch cables, both CAT5e and CAT6
Numerous Power cables (at least 128 C14 to C13 PDU to miner cables, plus at least the same number of standard power cables)
Atom-based mini form factor management PC

He's asking $50 each for the miners with power supplies + shipping and a minimum of 3 miners per order just to make it worth the time it takes to prepare for shipping.  He'd give a bulk discount to anyone wanting to take everything.  Otherwise he said they all go to e-waste in a week.  It would be a shame as they are all working miners, but just my opinion.

Hello,

I am interested to buy all the miners given they are in good condition and i get good deal. are you willing to arrange shipping to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Re: Introduction - 126 GPU & 13 ASics - Help with Massive heat & ventilation problem

Hello Guys,

I have a 126 GPU farm that was cooled by 5 split ac's 2 ton each  (total 10 ton capacity). I recently added 13 antminer s9i and the following is what happened

1. Without a room for the antminers the ambient temperature for the mining room became 41 degree celsius with all 5 ac's on.
2. The room that i use for mining is 8m x 5m x 3.8m (LxWxH)
3. outside temperature reach to 47 degrees in UAE
4. Fresh air intake without cooling wont work.
5. my dream is to turn off all ac's

My attempt to resolve the problem is as follows

-I built a room (Hot isle) for the antminers that included a window (I just put partition from gipson board on the back of the rack and the back wall is a window. I also put a gibson board on the back of the rack with holes for the 120cm exhaust fans and sealed it. However the exhaust air is removed from the window using a 2600cfm HD exhaust fan -(200cfm per miner x 13)
-I built a hot isle for the GPU rigs and i figured i need 250cfm per 13 gpu rig with total capacity of 2200cfm. Put 2 inline fans in series with 12" ducting for total capacity  of 2200cfm

Problem:

-the antminers and the exhaust fans now take all the air from the room and is alot of air is coming from the door edges and alot of air noises in my house etc.
-I have a total of 4800 cfm of air being exhausted

My questions
-Will an evaporative AC with high cfm be a good option since our humidity level is at 30-40% in Abu Dhabi (build a room inside mining room with an evaporative ac inside with the window open and a dehumidifier - the outlet for air from the evaporative ac will be the only thing exposed from the room pointing towards the rigs and antminers) or Duct option
-what other options i have to bring in cool 4800 cfm of fresh air

thanks for the help,. I will post pictures soon

I live in a similar climate as you do (Mediterranean). It gets close to 45 degrees in the summer.
I'm running 2x18000 CMH evaporative coolers mounted outside the warehouse and use insulated ducts to bring the cold air inside to cool 100 S9s.
Make sure your ducts are insulated otherwise they will rust.
The trick was to use a water cooler to cool the water supply to the cooler as 45 degrees is too high for these coolers.
No need to worry about moisture as these miners can handle up to 95% relative humidity. As long as the chips stay hot there will be no condensation.
I have a 7 meter tall ceiling so all the hot air goes up and don't even need exhaust fans. Just keep open windows on the top side and hot air is just pushed out due to positive pressure in the warehouse.
As far as I recall UAE has high humidity levels though so that's a serious negative factor for these swamp coolers.
Nice thing about swamp coolers is that in winter you can just use them as intake fans without any water supply.
Another thing to consider is that these industrial level swamp coolers go into self cleaning mode twice a day for about 5-8 minutes. So you need to watch your temperatures during that time.
Also better choose a 3 phase swamp cooler to better balance your load. It's a bit more expensive but it takes away the headache of load balancing.
Hope this helps.

What type of cooler you were using to cool the water supply to the swamp coolers. do you also exhaust 2x18000 cmh or less?

Hello,

I own a small mining farm with currently 162 1070ti/1080ti GPU's. I made some holes in the floor for sucking in fresh air, it's currently around 40 degrees in the room and on the top of the room i have two industrial fans sucking out all the air. Currently all GPU's won't get warmer then 70 degrees. The room itself is around 5m x 5m x 2,5m

https://image.ibb.co/eqjdMo/miners.png

Even when outside temperature is -10 degrees, cards are same temps. Hottest outside temp i got was 30 degrees. Inside the temp is around 20 ~ 40 degrees.

The two fans that I'm using are 350watt each and sucking out more air then they can. If you are interested I can make some pictures for you next time i visit the farm. Let me know.

Greetings.

yes please send me some pictures of your exhaust fans and setup

thanks

Guys sorry for the bad pictures earlier.

i was able to switch off 3 A/C when i got the evaporative cooler. However, i am facing high temp on few individual GPU here and there. I have decided to tear down the whole farm and build every thing again using new racks and using BOX fans to pull hot air from around GPU's into the hot isle where they will be exhausted by two 12" 1100 CFM inline fans.

The method that  Rodrigo8 recommended will need me to get some permits from the municipality and it will cost alot of money and its is no option for me.

thanks for your reply's guys

i have brought in an evaporative ac to rated at 12000 cfm. I was able to turn off 3 ac's from 5 and the average temperature is around 65 degrees at 70% fan speed. problem this pulled alot of dust. i need to do a major cleanup + add filters for the fresh air.

I will upload some photo's of the setup soon and would like to hear your feedback.

I will try the evaporative cooling part.

can you please elaborate more on what you mean by bumping the airflow?

13 GPU Mining Rigs setup for small farm - Help
by
ssaleen
on 21/10/2017, 13:46:53 UTC
Hi,

I have ordered around 47 SA rx580 nitro + 8gb and i am planning to build a GPU mining Farm with them.

Total 5 - 13 GPU rigs
Specs rig 1-4:
SA Nitro + rx580
Asrock H110 Pro PTC
Celeron G3930
Crucial 8GB DDR4 Rams
2 Server PSU W/breakout Boards (1200W Each)
1 Evga 750 GQ Power supply
13 pc version 007 PCI-E Risers with 6pin to Sata power connecters

Rig 5:
Zotac GTX 1070 Mini's 13pc
all others same as above.

My questions are

1. Use Simple Mining OS or ETHOS?

2. Flash Bios for rx580 while they are on the rigs or do it first then install on the rig

3. Electricity in my country costs around 0.02/KW and i have 2 AC Conditioner each rated @ 2 tons, will they suffice or need more

4. Electrical Setup (2rigs connected to one 30 AMP Breaker Connection?)

5. Connect PCI-Risers same power supply as corresponding GPU in this case that means i have to connect 6 cards + 6 PCIE Risers from same server PSU. Is this right setup?

thanks for your help
