just let me know what to do as im fucking useless at this

if it possible to update the firmware on my S5 by connecting it directly to my laptop?

i can't get an internet connection on it at all so wondered if maybe the firmware was somehow corrupt?

im still not up and running, it's doing my head in

guy's i know this is an old machine but i've searched and can't fine any help with this. i got it today off ebay, it worked fine but bloody hell it was noisey so i swapped the fans and it started to beep after a few minutes. i figured it was too hot so turned it off.

when i restarted it it wasn't visible on my router or home hub. all the lights are on, the fans are going (not super fast tho)

i've pressed the reset button and also the ip address button but still can't find it

any ideas?
