Re: PhoenixMiner 5.1c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)

Anyone know the Free VRAM on a 4GB card running Linux?  Right now I am barely hanging on with Windows on my 4GB cards:
Free VRAM: 3.948 GB; used: 0.052 GB

Was wondering if Linux allocates less, but was hoping someone already using Linux could validate that before I go to the effort of installing a new OS.

Thanks!

Anyone else's rx570s(4gig) just drop in hashrate under windows 10?  if not what driver's are you using or how are you doing it?

Thanks

I had the same problem, but then I updated to 20.4.2 It was mentioned in an earlier post and now I’m running again. It’s pretty volatile right now for my 4 GB cards, but it is working

Pfff the extra power use with v8 is killing me from 710w to 840w and lower hashes. Now i'm ending red numbers €0.19 - $0.22 per kWh.

I hope that srbminer can optimized so we get the old power use back and hashes.
Wow, same here!  like 20-25w more per GPU

K, ran some numbers on WhatToMine and its actually more profitable for me to mine CryptoNight V7 on nicehash than it is to mine XMR with CNv8.  Man, I was excited for this fork because it would drop the difficulty of XMR (which it did).  I was even expecting some level sort of hashing drop, but the extra power usage is crazy...

Hmm, testing with a single Vega56.  Was getting ~2035 with 1.6.7, now getting ~1630 with 1.6.8.  Tried both the Normal and Maxi versions, same results.  Using the 18.6.1 drivers, so not sure what to make of this  Huh

Ok, figured out my issue.  I had intensity: 0 in the config, and specified a GPU-specific intensity (112).  Once I removed the gpu_conf section, it worked perfectly.  Don't know if this is a bug or a change in how inheritance works in the config files.

when you set intensity to 0, miner sets worksize, number of threads and intensity automatically

Yup, I knew that, but thought the gpu_conf section overwrote the global settings outside the gpu_conf section.

thank you for the explanation.  Side topic, is anyone else having issues with the OverDriveNTool screen not appearing?  It used to work fine for me, but now whenever I launch the GUI, the screen is not visible.  This happens on a fresh copy of Windows 10 too.

Nice Dok! Can confirm ~2035 H/s for a V64 on V8. ~2135 H/s on current V7. V8 Only works using your pre-compiled kernels though. Running 18.6.1 drivers which are recommended, strange that they can't compile for V8. Just wanted to pass the info along, thx for all your wonderful work, best CN miner in my book by a long shot!

I'm assuming you mean JSON (Java Script Object Notation).  Google search for JSON validator, there are plenty of Web-based file validators out there.  You are probably just missing a , or } somewhere.

Any updates on v8 support?  I’m having trouble find solid info on support from the various miners.

Thx!

Look again, 30% over 30 days is actually crazy.

Exactly, it’s worse then the ZEC difficulty after the second batch of ASICs came out.

The fork will be interesting  it is due very soon under 3 weeks.

I haven’t heard much about v8, need to do some work to make sure my rigs are ready.

Maybe, RX 570/580s mine both well and XMR is definitely more profitable right now.

XMR difficulty has gone up dramatically the last 3 weeks, are those FPGAs in play now?

Neither my X370 or B350 Gigabyte boards support more than 6 GPUs.  I also have a x399 board that I might see how many it supports (only have 3 GPUs in it at the moment).

Hey guys, I have a batch 2 mini that I am powering with a regular 750w computer psu. At least 1x per day my mini will completely power off and I have to disconnect the PSU ATX jumper and reconnect it to power the z9 back up.  Disconnecting the power cord and switching the PSU on/off do nothing, I always have to reset the jumper.  Anyone experience this before? Think my overclock is to high(650), or maybe I should I buy an Asic psu?

Thanks!

go simple drop clock to 625    see if that works

my quess is it is the psu since others can clock as high as 700

what is make and model of the psu?

Evga b1 750 (its just one I had lying around).

Maybe something is goofy with the antminer reporting then, I am earning about 0.12 ZEC/day.

Edit: just checked my stats at Nanopool and they think I have 15k-16k shares/hour so I don't know WTF is going on...  Earnings seem on par with most people though.
