Re: Reason Why BTC will Dump to 2.5K$
by
stayeduptolate
on 17/11/2018, 20:58:10 UTC
If Mining BTC Even with free electricity cannot pay the mining equipment in a year, that will be the doomsday of BTC, 2000$-2500$ is the limit.
I don't think that $2k is ever gonna be reached and you should have posted some more information on how you reached to this conclusion. The Miners are already in a negative after this price dump from 6k to 5k and if further price dump takes place then only big companies will be mining bitcoins as they can afford short term gains to gain long term monopoly in the mining market and once they obtain that monopoly then they will be controlling the decentralized network and it will cause centralization of bitcoin thus its end.

Re: Trading platforms are growing but what about investors ?
by

Does anyone has ever thought about this one? We see that there are huge number of exchangers that are being formed every other month. Most of their ICO's are even starting up with the MVP as it has become easy stuff to code an exchanger over dex and get started with it. Who think that this will be good only if the investors also keeps rising day by day ? I mean if the investors doesnt increase in the number then how can one see use of huge marketplace anyway ? I mean its like there will be big playgrounds but too less players to play!! This will be very costly affair sooner or later.

I do feel that its not worthy if investors are not rising as well !!
I also feel that there are many many exchanges that it is becoming harder to keep track of which exchange you hold an account or not and also i think people are greedy about the fees that exchanges take per trade and think that they can also earn so much millions and start new exchange to test and after some time it fails and thus investors loose money and their efforts so it will be better to just limit the number of exchanges and think about how to attract more investors.

Re: Why you buy Cryptocurrency ?

Cryptocurrencies have been all the rage for the past year or so, creating substantial wealth for investors who bought these virtual coins anytime before the beginning of 2017. Some of the most popular, like Litecoin, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar, Unity and Ripple, have generated enormous returns for anyone who bought, mined, or otherwise acquired these digital currencies soon after they came into existence. We are talking about gains of between 4,000% and 17,000,000% -- potentially life-changing wealth.

Well I was fortunate enough to invest in some of these currencies but was also fool enough to sell them for pretty cheap prices, so now I still am in the same financial situation then I was before investing in Crypto, although I have brought many things with my earnings but in the end zero savings, such pity. But yes it have been a pretty good journey from the start till it ends, many ups and downs, many scams, many heart breaking moments and many moments to cherish.

Re: This year is a total opposite of last year

While some of us are aware that BItcoin suddenly took a huge dip from a stable $6400 to a shocking $5400 dip late this week. A total opposite of what had transpired last year of fourth quarter where bitcoin skyrocketted its value to almost $18000. Many are left wondering what is happening to bitcoin or will it be the end for the coinn what do you think about the current situation?
Well about last year it was as many people say, due to the demonetisation in India and due to which people invested huge amounts in bitcoin just because they could hide their ill gained black money to be hidden from Indian government. And after that pump there was no other source of new investments to the people and the price started crashing due to lack of support and got to the break even point for Miners where they could just make enough of what they spent to mine those bitcoins.

Re: Where next? Up or down!
by

on 17/11/2018, 18:52:39 UTC
The price will probably go up during the next weeks and it is going to go back to its previous levels, many are predicting a price even lower than what we are seeing right now but that doesn't seem possible because the more the price goes down the more resistance the bears are going to find from the bulls, so a price below 5000 is probably not going to happen.
Many people have predicted a price below 5k in the end of this bull run that is currently taking place and that it will have a negative impact on bitcoin price. But what i think is the same as of you that bitcoin price won't go down below the 5k range as there will be a rush to buy such cheap bitcoins as compared to when it was in the $10k above range, so I predict that even if the price go below current price then below 5k isn't possible at all in the future.

for long term purpose, which is better to invest in , Bitcoin or Ethereum ? Lets discuss that ..
I think you should diversify your investment and buy both of them as both of these coins are phenomenal in their own sense. Bitcoin is considered master of all crypto available in the market and without any doubt is the most popular crypto in the world. You can easily expect it's price to hit 20,000$ within 2-3 years for sure.
Ethereum on the other hand, is considered master of all smart contracts and is currently the most used protocol for new projects and ICOs. You can easily expect it's price to be around 3000$ within 2-3 years

Guys, i have shortlisted 4 coins out of which i want to invest in 3 coins with 50%,25%,25% portfolio share....the coins are ADA,ZILIQA, ELASTOS, BAT......so which 3 coins you guys feel that will be huge by dec 2020 ......Thanks
the three coins which can surely be a sensation within 3-4 years are ripple, civic and crypterium. Ripple is a coin based upon the idea of global value transfer and has the potential to revolutionize the global banking scenario for sure. Civic is a project which helps in identity verification with help of bkockchain technology. Crypterium is a project which is aiming to integrate virtual currencies in the real world. All of those projects have massive potential to grow and you can earn massive profits by investing in them.

Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation
by

on 17/11/2018, 15:53:43 UTC
I would like to hear people's opinion on XRP/Ripple.  News, Trends, Concepts, Technical Issues... anything pro or con that might be indicative of it's survival or growth opportunities in actual real world use cases.   Or things that indicate it's failure.

Here is my two cents to start it off, starting with a Disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I have weighted portfolio of Bitcoin (5 - 10%), Ethereum (70 - 80%), XRP/Ripple (10 - 25%). I'm a HODLer, not a Day Trader,a nd reportionments are done rarely based on trends.  My purpose of this post is to try and determine whether a repportionment of Ripple is appropriate.  And I am currently of an equal mind.  33% to lower stake.  33% says stay hte course.  33% says increase shares.  So real certainty here I tell ya!  LOL    Hoping someone will say something here to un-jam my mental logs.

My current facts as "I" see them....

CURRENT PRICE:  Ripple is doing absolutely nothing.  No real motion in any direction except sideways.  Only recent facto that may be contributor is the court case that allowed prior founder (McCaleb) to unload his billions of XRP at a current rate of "0.5% of average daily volume for each day of the week, including weekends and holidays".  So hardly anything of much substance, however, the fact that the price hasn't gone down means that there are at least enough buyers to keep the price even.

NEWS: I keep a very steady eye on Ripple, constantly trolling news, webs, boards for info.  Again - nothing.  Almost a total black hole of current news.  The only recent "news" are name dropping tidbits about SBI Holdings in Asia wanting to use Ripple.  Microsoft Azure being open to Ripple blockchains.  R3CEV hinting at Hyperledger open to Ripple use cases.  Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) running a Ripple Blockchain Trial.  Press Releases about 42% savings to banks using Ripple.   And vague references to Interledger, which is sort of analogous to Hyperledger or Lightening network in a way..... talk, no real world scenarios yet though.  And all of this very hypy-vague.   Just little tidbit trickles of "News", "non-News" actually, that basically says, "Hey, we're alive."

GENERAL THOUGHTS:  I think Ripple/XRP IS still alive, and due to the nature of its business model, is in "secret development" mode.  I mean, you won't see news, until you see news, but whe that news does come - it may be a hard break.  My opinion is that will most likely be up (obviously - I DO own it), but I guess it could be down, or it might even be just a really really slow up if the news is not dramatic enough that other coins (Bitcoin/Ethereum etc) aren't also releasing big news, and thereby suck up all the investment money that might go into Ripple/XRP - thereby blunting the reaction.  However, it could go the other way,a nd we could get good news out of Ripple / bad out of Ethereum/Bitcoin, and the pressure could be exacerbated up.   Also- the whole "premined" aspect doesn't bother me that much.  With all my crypto investments I am looking primarily at actual eventual use case scenarios to determine value.  The 2nd tier money coins (Lite, Dash, Monero etc) are of no interest, and even the Utility coins (Emercoin, Maidsafe, etc) seem a bit too spiky/dodgy and subject to market manipulation/risk to me.

Ripple is obviously a top tier player, but a little lacking in discussion at present.  Thought I'd fire up a topic.

Peace,
- david
Ripple is a coin based upon the idea of global value transfer. It is a protocol which help the banks to transfer funds globally at the speed of lightning. Many banks like standard chartered have partnered with ripple. It is a project which has the potential to revolutionize the global banking scenario without any doubt. I see tremendous growth potential in this project and I think it's value will surely be close to 5$ within an year or so. It is a coin worth holding.

Friends, analysts fear the further and largest decline in Bitcoin. Can it reach the mark below 5000, what do you think?
Well I think we are already in the largest decline in price of bitcoin as it is already pretty low from the ATH and I don't think that it will ever reach a more below than the $5k level so the analysts can be proven wrong but the problem with this speculation is that they haven't said when, so it can be that now price can rise to even more than $50k and then maybe a 10k or 20k drpo can occur so it will be in favour of the analysts because of a proven prediction.

Re: Will usage of bitcoin reduce the value of native currencies?

Will the value of native currency fall down if the usage of bitcoin increases?do people feel that they don't need fiat anymore for the transactions to happen? Is that why people are trying to let down bitcoin ? Many questions are just wandering in my mind at the moment. Can anyone answer atleast few of them?
If and only if the bitcoin will be started using in day to day needs then I think that bitcoin can increase in value and people will ditch their official currencies of their country and then maybe bitcoin will be officially recognized world cryptocurrency. This will surely impact the national currencies but the bitcoin adaption will be a problem in those counties where there isn't a reliable internet connection and infrastructure for people to use the services and thus they would have to stick to fiat only.

Re: Why Cryptocurrency threatens governments
by
stayeduptolate
on 16/11/2018, 18:55:09 UTC
Over the years cryptocurrency  has evolved into a global currency but governments are trying to sweep it's relevancy under the carpet. We all know that the eyes of the community are now opened to the importance and blockchain technology.

What baffles me is why are the government making lives difficult by banning or limiting it's use? Is it because it threatens the political power or are they scared it will improve the global economy or force the traditional banks to reduce their ridiculous interests rate which we have been robbed of for decades now.

What is your take on this and what do you think will make governmental bodies to finally accept crypto?
Well the crypto system of payments takes the control of money from government that is centralized to the people which is decentralized economy, simply supply and demand and as crypto are rare in supply then it means that their price will keep on increasing in the future and also the fiat currencies are going down in value yearly due to inflation whereas in Crypto or lets say bitcoin the value increases each year as the amount of bitcoins minted every 4 years decreases to half so this makes the price go up.

I'm looking to invest in a trustworthy Altcoin with a good team and project that I can hold for 1 years. Do you have any suggestions for what I should invest in and why?
diversifying your investment will surely help you to reduce the market risks and will surely maximize your profits.
I would advice you to hold the top crypto if you want to hold the coin in the long run. Ripple, ethereum, litecoin would be your best bets and these coin are sure to grow in the future. These coins should be a major part of your investment.
You should also consider investing in crypterium. It is a project which is aiming to integrate crypto in the real world and can show good amount of growth in the future.

Which one is more profitable to invest into.
Can BCH ever over-take ethereum when BTC moon?
I think both the projects are really good and worth investing for sure but I don't think BCH will ever replace ethereum. Ethereum is considered master of all smart contracts available in the market and without any doubt, it is the second most popular crypto available in the market. Ethereum also has got a really strong development team which is another reason for its strong hold on the crypto market. It is a really tough and long road ahead for BCH if it ever wants to replace ethereum.

Hi Everyone,

As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.

Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

No, not really but the top crypto almost occupy 75 percent of space in my portfolio. Top coins are legit and have good amount of potential to grow in the future. These coins provide stability to my portfolio which is needed to safeguard my principal amount invested.
Rest of my portfolio consist of coins capable of tremendous returns within a small span of time. You can consider investing in civic, crypterium and siacoin. These coins help in increasing the rate of growth of my portfolio.

Re: Bitcoin will be replace by ALTS in the future?

Hello guys! As usual my habit is to check this website https://coinmarketcap.com/ for crypto market price. I saw that bitcoin still dominate in the market.

Take a look in this picture.

The Bitcoin Dominance recorded is still at 52.3%

This is why Bitcoin is the most expensive crypto in the market. But, there is one thing also that struck me and that is the growing number of crypto in the market.

It was recorded at 2093 cryptocurrencies being listed in coinmarketcap and does not include some crypto that are not listed on coinmarketcap for now. So many cryptocurrency to choose from so brace yourself on what crypto will you should consider to contribute or invest.

Bitcoin vs. Altcoins

I get this graph from coinhills (https://www.coinhills.com/statistics/volume-bitcoin-altcoin/) that shows the trend chart of Bitcoin volume strength versus Altcoins. A great number of altcoins combine will soon going to surpass bitcoin and remove its dominant in the market and probably few crypto will dominate in the altcoins group in the near future.

The question is that: Is there any possibility that dominant altcoins will take over bitcoin in the ranking in the future?
Bitcoin can't be replaced by any altcoin in the future unless the governments all over the world combine to form a new coin and that will be good enough to replace bitcoin. There have been many problems with bitcoin protocol in the past and the BIP is established to overcome those problems and make bitcoin better in the future so the problems we face today with bitcoin like the high transaction confirmation times etc will be past when they will be solved in the coming future and that shows how bitcoin is controlling the market and dominant.

Re: Tax on the crypto currency! What do you think?
by
stayeduptolate
on 11/11/2018, 19:04:57 UTC
I think it is not realistic to be deaf in the country for every citizen, how much he owns crypto-currencies. Yes, and still recover the tax from it. To be able to collect taxes, the state should control the system itself, where the crypto currency is actually used - and this is not realistic for a single country. Scales are too huge.

Well, for me, I see taxing as a way of protecting its users against negative entities that might eye to take advantage of its users. I think that as more and more people get their attention shift and set into cryptocurrency that gives more reasons for the assets of its users to be protected. If a government imposes laws and taxes on it, it gives and implied promise that the government would also protect and safeguard the rights of its users. So that, if something untoward will happen, the person won't just have to weep and swallow it without hope of getting something back, or at least, punishing those who did the offense to him. So, in general, I think it would be for the best.
I don't agree with what you said, no one can protect us from the thefts or any other mishaps in the crypto world as the government doesn't guarantee to keep your crypto funds safe and all other crap, they just want to milk you and get some money while you keep on suffering so they take taxes from you even if you are holding some crypto even through there isn't any way possible to know who holds what amount, they still let you believe that they are watching everything and people pay the taxes in fear if they are applied.

 Huh Huh Huh
There are many other things to discuss with your children or grandchildren over dining table and that too if you want to discuss bitcoin itself then you will be fortunate enough for sure to discuss it with your children and your family. Bitcoin is here for the long run and it just recently completed its first 10 years of existence and there isn't any doubt behind it completing another 10 or 20 years for sure as governments are favouring it, legalizing it, it's becoming simpler to use bitcoin in day to day life so there is no reason why it will be having a deadly future.

Re: Growth potential for coins with massive total coin supply
by
stayeduptolate
on 11/11/2018, 17:34:07 UTC
With emergent coins like XRP having billions in total coin supply, do you think such coins have a huge growth potential?
I think coins with huge supply can have huge potential if the team knows how to control the supply. Like in the case of ripple, some amount of ripple burns everytime a transaction takes place which constantly increase the demand and reduces the supply of the coin. It's a good way to deal with massive supply.
But for most coins, it is just a waste and if the team is inexperienced, then such big supply becomes a total disaster. Nobody needs billions of a coin with almost no potential to grow.
