Mining Pools Vs Investing ?
by
stayhumble
on 17/11/2017, 21:31:52 UTC
Hey guys not a newbie in crypto but a newbie in mining.

I wanted to diversify & get into maybe pool mining, i seen bitcoin.com genesis-mining etc have lifetime plans

If you had the money why dont you just buy BTC instead of investing it in cloud mining pools?

Im just curious & I guess lazy to do the math lol

assuming BTC price will go up of course whats the difference in where you put your money

can someone break down why it would be more valuable to invest in pools?

Re: BAT - Basic Attention Token ICO (31-5-17)- Worth Investing?

What BAT is trying to do will have to ultimately be done!!! Advertising will change and probably look like something that BAT is doing.

SO investing in BAT is investing in that idea! weather they pull it off or not is a diff story.. But team looks solid and im sure they can raise money lol (now a days it aint that hard plus they prob sold the ico to the initial investors so they can have some control)

all they have to do is prove the concept with their browser and then call up Mozzilla and tell them to switch over Smiley

just buy some man its .18 cents lol

lol yea guys Im a newb thats why i was struggling with MEW

actually the only thing was that Im paraoid about setting it up.

do you think I need a comp thats never been online to et up a wallet there? and then save my keyfile on a usb from that?
so both have never touched online?

then connect thru Trezor?

would that be most secure?

or not necessary to go that far lol

thanks!!

So where can I store ICO tokens that are built on Ethereum ERC20 Tokens

I know of Myetherwallet but its confusing to me.

I know you can send the ErC20 tokens to any Ether wallet, but where would i see the breakdown of how many I have in a wallet?

(newb) Private Key vs Master key vs Back up Wallet?
by

So newb question here, I have the trezor and the ledger and myetherwallet.com

Im a bit confused about what is needed to get into your wallet?

1. Is the "back up wallet" a sensitive file? can i just back it up on my dropbox and a few other places so I dont lose it, or does it have to be somewhere offline?

2. Do you have to write down your private keys? will you ever need it?  Can someone get into your wallet with the private keys?

3. Can someone re create your wallet with the master 24 words password alone?

thanks!!! super newb stuff sorry lol

Re: Need help Storing LiteCoin

Wow, you really care about your security.

I'm not sure if there are any decent hardware wallets for Litecoin.  I think Ledger devices might offer compatibility but I can't remember so do check.

If you hold it on your laptop it should be fine as long as you back up your storage regularly and don't go on any dodgy sites.  If you're holding a really large amount of Litecoin it might be practical to buy an old computer to only use for that purpose and keep it somewhere safe, as it wouldn't be too large an amount of your money.

Hey Im just trying to be cautious, so if not hardware then where do u guys store them? on the lite coin wallets online?

and can I ask, what do you mean back up storage? can u explain please

Need help Storing LiteCoin

So I got a Trezor to store BTC and Dash, but i wanted to buy some LiteCoin and Ripple

I see the Electrum wallet but it would be installed on my computer.

So my question is, do i have to get a new computer that has never been online before to store Litecoin?
download the wallet on a USb and then install on the new comp?

sorry for the newbie question Smiley

Was wondering the same thing about all of these other alt coins (ripple etc) how would I store them safely offline?
Or is there no need to? I dont feel safe leaving them on my laptop
