A really interesting project.
I found out about it through one of Marc de Mesel's youtube videos where he mentions you guys.

Since a couple days back I have put a few % of my investment portfolio into the same assets & distribution as your dynamic fund.
I do have one question though, is there any way of getting a notification when you update your portfolio?
I already follow you on twitter and have this thread on watchlist, but maybe there's a better way?

Cheers!

We are in the process of getting insight explorer up:

http://kmd.explorer.supernet.org/

it is still brand new and might have some issues still, please post any discrepancies you see between this explorer and kpx.io

The new explorer show 7520 KMD as final balance on my address, which is wrong.
kpx.io shows the correct balance (8811 KMD)

http://kmd.explorer.supernet.org/address/RXqdRmv7n9hygf9C7f7vj4VQyNR9RvzXss
https://kpx.io/accounts/RXqdRmv7n9hygf9C7f7vj4VQyNR9RvzXss

It seems that it is not including mining rewards.

Important note for KMD voters

Pay attention to the Notary Node candidates subsidy percentage!

Notary Nodes are paid monthly. The rate is 500$ per month. This includes the mined KMD, so $500 minus (KMD mined x Marketprice) = BTC payment.

Notary Node operators can lower their subsidy to be paid less, as most servers with the required specs don't cost 500$ per month.

By doing so, Komodo will save BTC! This BTC can be used for marketing/promotion, future development, etc. for the Komodo Platform.

thanks, xrobesx

https://www.komodoelection.com/candidates/xrobesx/

Valid points!
Also having a lower subsidy will allow for more notary nodes being run in the region.
If average subsidy among those elected is 50% (or lower) in a region a whopping 16 nodes could become elected.
If it is 100%, only 8 nodes will be up and running.
Probably we will end up somewhere in between 8-16 in each region.

I would not advice looking solely on subsidy % though.
Being able to keep your node up to date consistently with mining, notarizing, ratifying and helping each other out is important too.
And sometimes a quality host comes with a cost, you decide what's important.

I am planning on doing an install of ubuntu or mint. Which version numbers are the better of the two for iguana and komodo?

Here's a setup guide for a notary node server for 14.04: https://github.com/SuperNETorg/komodo/wiki/Setup-Komodo-Notary-Node
I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on my notary server, works like a charm.

Imagine the Über app on your phone, but for trading crypto/fiat.
For small amounts, where AML/KYC is not a requirement all you need to do is to sign up find someone close by and start trading.

This idea has a great potential!

The election has started and it's time to let you know why you should vote for me in the EU region:

  • I'm reliable - My testnet node has been up and running for more than 3 months already and history shows that I usually update my node immediately when there's an update available and never missed a ratification.
  • I'm cheap - My low subsidy will allow for maximum number of nodes (16) in the EU region! Voting for me means larger number of nodes can get elected, which is great for the overall health of the network!
  • I've been doing this before - I have many years of previous linux hosting experience for other cryptos and related projects.
  • I don't over do it - I only run one node in one region, which is good for decentralization (if you care about such things).
  • I'm committed - SuperNet share hodler and hangaround for two years.
  • I'm tough - I live in northern part of Sweden, fighting polarbears is a part of my daily routine, should be worth something...

You need at least 1.9.2 before block 1,000,000
https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-9-2/

Before block 1,000,000 - at least 1.7.5.
After - at least 1.10.1
My bad.

Guess I better open up and sync my NXT wallet...which has been collecting dust for a few months after holding all those tokens for ARDR.

Best of luck, can't wait to be a part of this platform!

Keep in mind that after block 1,000,000 you can't transact if the client version is < 1.10.1 because of the hard fork at that block.

Where did you get such information? No hardfork is planned.

where will i find my ardor? will they just pop up in the wallet after block 1000000?
That is exactly what will happen.
It's hard coded into the core client.
Not sure about exchanges though.

I'll try and get elected for the last one if it's still available.

I have for rent:

3 x BadAss Notary Node incl. colo in a bulletproof location in the Netherlands

2 x Intel Xeon L5520 (8 cores/16 threads) you can use 12-14 threads for Komodod and 2-4 others for administrative tasks.
72GB memory
2 x 500GB Samsung Enterprise SSD (no consumer version) one will be used and second is spare in case the first one dies.
HP Smart Array B110i (RAID-modi; 0, 1 en 10)
Lights-Out 100 for remote access
Installed with preferrable Linux distro

220USD per month in BTC (3 months up front)
1 per person

I can fully secure the server and install everything for you for a fee.

Perfect as a Komodo Notary node. Now anyone can control one of the 64 nodes which are needed. Can be swapped for same notary node in Asia, Canada, America, Iceland
My DC has an uptime of 99.9% (in reality it is 100%). JL777 can confirm this. All servers are directly connected to the AMS-IX backbones.

Keep in mind, you'll get 500usd per month in KMD & BTC (if KMD are not 500usd worth at that time). So a profit of 280USD. 220USD you pay me in BTC.

A contract will be made for one year with option to extend it.

SOLD OUT!!

1 server left. Please note that you have to be elected to run this node.

So all the average poloniex trader need to do is to go to this thread, jump to page 45, follow the tech instructions (and if you are not a tech user, it's time to become one) and transfer your btcd to your local wallet.
And that assumes you, as a trader on polo have heard of komodo at all.

Here's another idea: Update the btcd 1.0 wallet to work after installation, so normal users can use it too. Maybe even have a working link on the website?

If you don't, expect some serious critisism after the snapshot from users who did not know or was not able to complete the steps above.

As I'm understand that ARDOR could be traded soon after 12th Oct , how about the value? will be same price with NXT? or it's have starting price?
There was a poll on the NXT blockchain where people could vote on what they think the price would be.
The results are ... all over the place.

I have not fully read the Ardor concept. Will there be a new wallet for Ardor or can we still use the current updated Nxt wallet? If not, will the API change? I am currently designing a addon and I do not want to reprogram the whole stuff later again.
The api will be modified, but changes will be kept to a minimum according to core devs.
If I'm allowed to speculate, you'll be forced to provide a specific id for what child chain token you want to query, and maybe something more, but the api will be more or less the same as today.

Re: KickAssTorrent is down, any blockchain-centric torrent site/tech?

I think the best way to get this is to go back to local desktop apps sort of like napster, that has a blockchain crawler built withing. That way it can have everything, the UI, the node, and the indexer, and could go without censorship sort of like I2P works now. So a Bittorrent client with blockchained indexes and maybe a built-in torrent/magnet publisher for credits (NXT).
Totally doable with NXT, just shit loads of work, and high risk of not getting much usage I'm afraid.

how are smart phased transactions different from smart contracts?
In a nutshell, a smart contract allows you to write code to do just about anything (including potential dangerous stuff).
Advantages are you have a lot more freedom to do whatever you want, the drawbacks is obviously security (if you have a bug in your contract someone could exploit that), and thus it will require more time to learn to code properly & test your contracts.

With smart transactions you don't write any code, the functions are already pre-defined within the protocol. You just pass in your desired parameters.
The advantages are the opposite of smart contracts, it's more secure, it takes less time for you to learn, code & test.
The drawbacks is that you are limited to the functions that exists in the core client.

Not sure if that makes any sense, or if it is even the correct definitions.
It is my understanding anyway.
