thank you very much for the input. these are noted. my current set-up is with my gaming rig equipped with two rx 470s which is obviously connected to a monitor. no problems with these two. im looking to creating a mining only rig with the old components I posted earlier and will be ordering some RX series graphics cards for it. thanks again!

thanks for the replies guys. I've also been reading on dummy plugs. is it an issue with 775 mobos to have dummy plugs on gpus which aren't connected to a monitor?

I have an Asus P5K-E/WIFI-AP with Q6600 lying around, was thinking of using it with 4 RX cards for mining. will there be any issues if I use that mobo? I dont think it is PCIE 2.0 yet.

Yes, Windows will initially install a different driver that is incompatible with cgminer.

I just ordered mine from amazon today. Been reading through this thread. Noob question: If I get a prebuilt cgminer for windows, do I still need to install the Zadig usb drivers?
