Looking at CMC...I'm seeing a increase in market cap thru inflation of the supply, not a price increase per individual Paycoin.

Just guessing from what I've seen, there seem to be about 100,000 fresh XPY per day being added.
Anyone have real numbers for the inflation rate on XPY ?

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xpy/#@inflation

The inflation rates are variable depending upon many factors but can be as high as 350% if you are GAW.
The average inflation as a whole is around 117% at the moment.

LOL, 117% to 350% inflation rate. That's very self sustainable for a "currency", ROFL (sarcasm).

your distribution of this "coin" is the worst I have ever seen.

Well, there is only one thing that you can to to increase the distribution of this "coin".....

buy some

Back to the OP's original question on who has 10 second transaction times:

that's easy, "BitUSD"

We have no idea where, who, or how the OP distributed his "coins" since he didn't use Bitcointalk at all and hasn't told us anything regarding distribution, his "coin" isnt listed on any known exchanges, and the only way to buy his "coin" is through him on one of his scam auctions. So why the Hell would I buy any? Lmao, this is 100% a scam.

kommoncents should be back in about a week or so and will take back over public relations.

If you have any reason why you think this is a scam aside from our preference for anonymity, please disclose the accusation, so I can respond.  Thank you in advance.

1) One of the worst websites I have ever seen
2) Private whois, hidden identities for a coin that doesn't wish to overthrow anything (IF you have nothing to hide disclose your real identities)
3) No Formal Whitepaper
4) 100% premine with an ICO
5) Newbie accounts on bitcointalk with use of shill accounts controlled by same person
6) Unrealistic technical claims with no rudimentary understanding of Bitcoin and yet has the nerve to call it obsolete
7) Lack of Github repository and closed source
8 Unrealistic and unproven economic claims
ect....

The stench of shit is overpowering from this "coin" and everyone should run from this turd as quickly as possible.

1)  We take a Warren Buffett approach: no frills.
2)  Yes, we are anonymous.
3)  The Clotho-Hydra and Argus-Nemesis are proprietary, owned by all accountholders.  I will let the accountholders decide if they want to disclose how their competitive advantage functions for others to copy.
4)  Yes, 100% was given to the Founding Accountholders.  We own slightly less than that now.  There was no ICO, but we do want to auction off some for price discovery and so that non-founders and those no associated with non-founders may enjoy the benefits of ~500ms full confirmation and continual price stability.
5)  We've never had a reason to come to bitcointalk, but I'm enjoying the Economics sub-forum immensely.  kommoncents will be back in about a week.  I did tell it about your accusation, so it may be back sooner to join in.
6)  Testing the speed claim is relatively easy though the wireshark method would be less onerous.  Unfortunately, BTC is obsolete and should be eclipsed by XRP relatively soon.  I do empathize with any who've made investments in BTC's long run future.
7)  The Ideal Reserve Client is on github, and it is semi-open source, that anyone may use it for beneficial purposes of The Ideal Reserve.  There are actually two bounties open to create iOS and Android apps based upon it.  It will be a happy day when paying off those
8  The data necessary to reconstruct the economic claims are free and readily available.  Unfortunately, I will not be able to assist with their reconstruction, either.

If you'll pardon me, these seem to be more personal and definitely not criminal.  Do you have any evidence of a criminal act?

There is nothing I can do to change BTC's competitive disadvantage.  The community will have to handle that itself.  I am not to blame for that fact.

So essentially, if this is at all real and none of it you're just making up...You released a coin to a few people(Chances are those "account holders" are just sockpuppets of yourself) outside this forum who own 100% of the coins that will ever be available? Yea, nice work there...It seems you didnt learn from NXT's distribution. In fact, if this is real, your distribution of this "coin" is the worst I have ever seen.

Are boys / men interested in Bitcoin ?
Your opinion ?

lol

Who the f*** cares what is between the legs of a bitcoin user?  Use of bitcoin is totally independent of gender.  Dumbest topic ever.  This idea that we should somehow promote bitcoin for girls is completely silly.  If it serves them, they will use it.  Stop trying to engineer society.

Well said. The sex of the person doesn't matter.

OP's ideal reserve doesn't exist. He's been here trying to auction off coins for a "currency" that isn't even made yet. The guy's a scammer. You darkcoin fanboys should do well not to respond to this guy. You're arguing over an actual shitcoin with actual confirmation times vs a shitcoin that doesn't exist with made up "500 millisecond" confirmation times.

If you want proof, google "Ideal Reserve Bitcoin", and it only comes up with this, https://www.reddit.com/r/IdealReserveOTC/, which is coins the OP has been trying to auction off without even having a currency. He(ChicagoSchooler) is a scammer. Either that, or he's trolling everyone with a madeup coin, or just plain crazy.

Let me sum this up for you.

The technology behind cryptonote obliterates darkcoin.  It's mathematically provable, it doesn't have random nodes that mostly exist in the amazon cloud to mix shit.

… snipped

Thank you, I have bookmarked this

And the technology behind Shadow could well obliterate Monero (since it has all the plusses of XMR on a BTC blockchain with a few neat twists Wink )

p.s.@UnicornFarts

Criticizing DRK for its name might not be wise.
As I understand it Monero is the Esperanto for 'money"

Esperanto is … a joke
and more accurately a dead (still-born) language

Does it say DRK vs XMR vs SDC? No, Shadowcash is utter shit. No one cares about Shadowcash and its crackpot scam signatures. And honestly, any wannabe currency with the English word coin in it's name(Dark"coin"), is going to go nowhere marketing wise.

"Esperanto is a language introduced in 1887 by Dr. L.L. Zamenhof after years of development. He proposed Esperanto as a second language that would allow people who speak different native languages to communicate, yet at the same time retain their own languages and cultural identities."= Global, unifying language

I don't really care, but I admit that choosing the Esperanto word for coin, monero, as a name was a genius marketing move.

Re: Should Everything Be Decentralized?
by
stopsigningbitch
on 01/03/2015, 16:14:32 UTC
I have to agree with HELP.org, the vast majority of you don't even understand what goes along with decentralization. An example of how decentralization can't work on some things in the real world is:

1) Decentralization of companies (Those in the company uninformed or ignorant on matters should be given equal right as those that are specially trained on such matters? Cashier vs Manager, think about it)
2) Decentralization of Public Transportation (This would cost anyone using Public Transportation much more money than they're using for it now, as you'd be responsible for contributing aka buying miners, and Also how would any repairs get done or any improvements?)
and more

As he pointed out, Reddit is not decentralized. If you want decentralization on the scale that Bitcoin has it or for everything in life, then you need to prepare to fork out a lot of $ just to keep doing what you're doing for relatively cheap today.

Get real people.

Could be a big dump of the Mintpal coins incoming if/when people get their coins back.

looks like it wont take too much time until we attack 0019, pressure stays high.
i would get nervous too if i wouldnt sit on a big mountain of moneros Grin

good luck guys

What?? Ryan Kennedy stole 3700 Bitcoins, not moneroj or darkcoins or vertcoins or any others.

Even if he's forced to pay everyone back, they'd be getting Bitcoins back.

Lmao, even the shitcoin Darkcoin cant be compared to the even shittier shitcoin Shadowcash

Shadowcash's implementation of "ring sigs" is mediocre at best. In simple terms, it's kind of like a rusty, broken down version of cryptonote's ring signatures.

Re: Cost of buying 51% of BTC (for attack if bitcoin were to go PoS)
by
stopsigningbitch
on 28/02/2015, 06:53:56 UTC
51% attack means To own the 51% of hashing power over all not 51% of btc
When a coin is POW, yes, but POS is different. POS is vulnerable to a 51% shareholder attack. Honestly I don't believe that this could be done. Good luck finding 7 million Bitcoin to buy.

You have it wrong. You don't need 51% of the total coins to do the attack. You just need 51% of the total staking coins to do the attack(which is much lower than 51% of the total coins).

Thats why PoS is not as secure as PoW.

Re: DRK vs XMR warez

Compelling argument. Exactly none of your points addressed the technical merits of either coin.

Here's one that I think a lot of people seem to overlook.

Darkcoin is forked from Bitcoin v0.10.

That means that anything created for Bitcoin can be easily adopted for Darkcoin.
  • Mycellium
  • Trezor
  • Electrum
  • Openbazaar
  • Darkleaks
  • Etc...

Monero doesn't have the luxury of being able to use some of these great projects that have been in development for years.

Having most of the base work already completed is a major advantage for Darkcoin.

Actually, that works the other way around propulsion.  Think of it this way: Bitcoin has had people build that infructaure around it, they built all those things for profit and to be the dominant companies/people in that field(like coinbase is trying to be for regulated exchanges, etc). The reason why bitcoin has all those things built around it is many other things in life are based around, To gain Money/Profit.

If a coin that doesn't possess the same underlying code as Bitcoin reaches heights where it's being used continually for buying/selling, then that infrastructure that was built around Bitcoin would happen to said coin as people compete to be the dominant leaders of whatever infrastructure they build around said coin.

Man, they never listen.

It ain't about PoW vs PoS.  It's about allocating all the darn coins so close to the beginning that it makes no economic sense.

Wow! One sentence.  Straight to the point.  I wish I had your skills.   Wink

You do realize chain that what cry said is against PoS right? PoS distributes coins at the very beginning to shareholders...

Re: Best way of initial coin distribution
by
stopsigningbitch
on 28/02/2015, 03:00:52 UTC
Step 1:

Code:
Launch a proof of stake altcoin. For example bitcoindark clone or something
Step 2:

Code:
People mine that altcoin until the proof of work period is ended
Step 3:

Code:
People send their coins to a burn address

Step 4:

Code:
You send the new 100% pos coin to the addresses they send to the burn address with proportional to their coins.
For example i send 18324 coins to the burn address using my address i get sent back same amount i burned to the same address on the new chain

Step 5:

Code:
People import their addresses to the new chains wallet and rescan
Step 6:

Code:
You have achieved your goal

Source: This is how the Stakecoin distribution was and i got my coins and was worked good i am like it because it was like magic and stuff.

This approach works better if the coin being mined is multi-algo. 4 Algos would make it very fair, scrypt, sha256, x11(or a different GPU algo), and a CPU algo that no one has a GPU miner for.

PoW period should not end as a snapshot can be taken at any point and the new coin allocated based on those numbers. The coins don't need to be burned either.

Mining isn't really a fair way of distributing anything.  CfB's method of mining via MS is a bit better because there is only so much damage that unfair mining advantages can do on the NXT system in 24 hours over 1000 coins.  But even mining on MS as long as it is open to anyone will still get gamed.

It makes me wonder what is going on at NXT, that it came up with such a great answer to POW but implemented it so poorly and now has brought POW back into NXT.  One right step forward and two wrong steps back.

Hey buddy, don't be stupid. Mining is much more Utopian way of distributing coins that Staking. PoS truly is what some people refer to as "Piece of Shit" because of it's lack of secuity vs PoW and it's idiotic method of distributing coins.

...

Again, your argument would only be valid if there weren't 500 coin blocks being emitted at that time, then being drastically cut shortly after a large amount of coins have been mined. The hash rate thrown at the coin at that time with no clear future goals, along with it only being minable on linux(which hardly anyone uses), clearly shows an intended instamine by the developers(evan).

If one takes out the part of "along with it only being minable on linux(which hardly anyone uses)" I am in agreement with you.

I know wikipedia isn't usually that credible unless they list sources. But I did a quick google search and found here. Even if the statistics arent errors free, windows is still far more widely used than linux.

"Desktop operating system browsing statistics

Windows XP   18.93%
Windows 8/8.1   15.22%

Linux                   1.34%
