That's weird, perhaps browser cache? Could you retry? I just downloaded it and it's good.

In my case i have downloaded at Sept 2nd and got 0.7.0 version, so i think its before the update

And i have download again today and got smaller size, maybe because its 0.8.0 version
0.7.0 zip file have 1.6 GB
0.8.0 zip file have 1.42 GB

Question :
Could i just upgrade from 0.7.0 (top right - help tab) than re-flash my sd card?

I have the "update Now" red button there

Yes it should be 0.8.0 now.

For upgrade, no you can't use web update for this release, please read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596620.msg21463680#msg21463680

For reference this is the md5 checksum of the file 24e218d9c87be06c12237e124ee0a2db for 0.8.0, so when you finished the download just check the md5 of your file if is the same.

shoot.... just got the answer to my question....  so now.... I need to start from scratch again, right?Huh  erase it from my system and re install the right version.... correct???

Yes correct. Get 0.8.0 image file and start from it.

By the way.....
I did the upgrade using the "Upgrade button"....  on the old Minera 0.7.0 to the new 0.8.0 .....
yesterday it wasn't working......
but today...... after my new plugable USB hub arrived I decided to start it again.....  and now version 0.8.0 is working with both my Gekkos 2pack flawlesly, getting about 11Gh/s per gekko.....
just one question.... I'm getting more money using the Bitcoin Miner APP for windows which mines at about 200kh/s than with Minera and Slushpool,  why?Huh?

please let me know

Thanks in advance

Don't know what this is, can you add a link to something that explains?

I believe some people call it "solo" mining.... others call lottery mining....
"sorta like this...."....

Re: Now that usb sticks are being sold by sidehack here is a new usb hub thread.

As I discovered with my 7-port, 60W charging hub from Plugable -- pop it open and look at how the power is distributed.

On the Plugable, it takes 12vdc in and has 3 buck regulators taking that down to 5v  for the USB plugs. That said... 1 regulator feeds ports 1 & 2, the 2nd regulator feeds ports 3 & 4, the 3rd feeds ports 5-7. See where this is going?

After futzing around with 2x of the 2PAC's along with an original Compac just plugging them in 1-2-3 I was unable to run all 3 at decent speed without at least 1 stick dropping out. Looked inside the hub and found ^^ so...

Put one 2PAC on port-2, the other on port-4 and the Compac on port-6 so each stick has it's own 5v regulator. Now the Compac is back up to its usual 318.75MHz and the 2PACs are running 175MHz 225MHz giving a total of 65-70ish GHs pointed at solo.kano.org. Lovin' it Cheesy

https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Charging-Adapter-Support-Android/dp/B00L2LK164/ref=pd_sbs_147_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00L2LK164&pd_rd_r=2KEH574PN7ZYFVFXHXSE&pd_rd_w=lEXyf&pd_rd_wg=h8kAR&psc=1&refRID=2KEH574PN7ZYFVFXHXSE

is this the one you're talking about?Huh

I need to find a good hub to power both my 2pacs and maybe a 3rd one.

if this is not the one..... any suggestions on a good hub to run 3 "2pacs"Huh

Thanks in advance.

Or search around, because there are entire threads here dedicated to discussing the best hubs for these.
I did yesterday and I found one.... 2 min later my 3yr old reseted my computer and now I can't find the damm thread.
Top of page 2 Now that usb sticks are being sold by sidehack here is a new usb hub thread

Thank you so much.

This is exactly the one I was on before the reset.

A RPi3 does not provide enough power to USB for a 2PAC. Get a Powered Hub.

Where can I get a good/great one??
open to suggestions.

Amazon/Ebay links are welcome

My first piece of advice would be to check in the 2Pac support thread, since you're running 2Pacs.

Thanks.

and -- is Minera using vh's CGminer fork that provides the needed driver?

Being very honest, I don't know.
I downloaded Minera from their website and I believe it's the most recent version of it, no mods done to it by me.

the youtube video I followed was this one:

Any help will be more than welcome.

Are you plugging the miners directly into the Pi's USB ports, or are you using a separate powered hub?

Have you considered the amount of power the sticks draw?

I'm using a USB 2.0 powered hub (it gets 5v 2amps in) I have no clue how much power they draw.

Hello Everyone.

I'm not a Linux expert, actually my experience with either Linux or programing is near zero.

Long story short, my son and I decided to give cryptocurrency a try.... I got 2 Gekkoscience  2 pacs to start a small mining rig using a raspberry pi 3 and minera (using a youtube tutorial)

instalation went ok, geckos turn on but Minera only "see" one gecko...... I tried adjusting voltage, frequence and nothing sems to work.... it's always one or the other gecko working but never both.

how can I solve this problem??
