Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost

Receiving the following error:

Code:
Last cgminer quit reason: not enough fans

Have tried disabling sensors and fans at start with:

Code:
"no-sensor-scan" : true
"min-fans": 0

Will test this machine for immersion so if the fans sensors are broken, don't care.  Any ideas how to fix?

Does anyone knows where can i get psu replacement for Dragonmint T1?

A T1 will draw on balanced between 1480-1530W.  So a 1800W Bitmain APW7 PSU is a good alternative that would work with plenty of available headroom.  And remember, you should be running on 240V, not 120V.

Have a few T1's which just got burnt from where the PSU connects to the miner. Any idea what can be the reason? It is toasted.

Occasionally check the connections between the PSU cables and the miner.  Slow vibration and heat over time can slowly separate the internal metal connections ever so slightly.  This leads to resistance and creates heat (and lead to melting/fire).

Metal corrosion of the internal connections can speed this process as well (another reason why controlling relative humidity is important).  A manufacturer can cheap out on the quality of the internal socket pins and if they use an unplated or thinner variety, they will heat up when heavy current is passing through.

I'm ok with spending even ~100$-200$ on that. Nicehash looks good, but how can I use it when there are no testnet mining pools? Can someone guide me how to mine those test bitcoins with rented hashing power?

Can provide the testnet coins, let me know your testnet address

If anyone needs some BTC testnet coins for dev work, please let me know and post testnet wallet address.  Fast solution instead of spinning up regtest.

*Remember, testnet coins have NO VALUE; so only ask if you have a need*

I have very little experience with the command line. I have installed Ubuntu and run at as advised and configured the virtual environment.
i cannot seem to access the file using the commands i am entering. here they are. I am running windows 10.

The Ubuntu line looks like this

Code:
luke@DESKTOP-G1JLG1S:~$ cd C:\braiins-os_dm1-g29_ssh_2019-06-05-0-0de55997
-bash: cd: C:braiins-os_dm1-g29_ssh_2019-06-05-0-0de55997: No such file or directory
luke@DESKTOP-G1JLG1S:~$ cd C:/braiins-os_dm1-g29_ssh_2019-06-05-0-0de55997
-bash: cd: C:/braiins-os_dm1-g29_ssh_2019-06-05-0-0de55997: No such file or directory

I have downloaded and extracted the braiins ssh file to the following file location: C:\

Can you let me know where my error is?

You may of transposed directions as C:\ drive would be Windows.  Once running Linux (Ubuntu); follow the instructions provided by the above poster

Total SCAM, i went there to Netherland in the address they put in the website and there is no office in the building with that enterprise name, keep away of this scammers.

Do you wish to list the contact information for the company and individuals you had communications.  By listing them, it will show in search engines and help prevent future victims

Any ability to add additional filters?

For example, notifications when a BTC address receives a TX larger than x?

This is an update to my previous post. I am now up to .504TH/s hash rate.

 Smiley Dan

If you are truly only mining with only .504TH/s, that's 0.006902 BTC/yr (~$41), go to CK solo pool.

Forgot to mention earlier, everything was delivered today. I seriously couldn't be happier, dealing with quake was fantastic from beginning to end. Great communication, great price, fast shipping, packaging was the best I've ever seen... Amazon ain't got shit on him. Should also mention that I paid him directly without escrow. He's a stand-up guy, no doubt.

Whenever you're ready to sell the rest of your server PSUs, hit me up.

Glad you're happy! Smiley

Apologies for digging up a really old post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1037372.0;all

We have a significant stock of Model: PET1300-12-054NA E and would be looking to put them into service.  Could you point me towards any breakout boards or adapters for the above model.

I greatly appreciate your help and could pay you for your time.  Thanks in advance and look to hear back.

think F1 car against a pinto
Actually, more like a F1 car against a 3-legged plow horse... Current ASIC-based miners are hundred's of thousands times faster than mining BTC using GPU's.

And its far more profitable to mine altcoins with the GPUs and then sell those for bitcoin than attempting to mine bitcoin directly with GPUs.
There are plenty of pools to choose from in the Pools (Altcoins) forum area, and some even automate the selling for BTC part!

It's not a question of being "more profitable", you will never make the payment distribution list on this pool w/ GPUs

If the data center, all of the equipment, mining rigs, operations, and staff were free; a s9 needs power to be 0.083c USD (0.073EUR)/kWh or lower to break even or be profitable.

Very much support more people entering mining, but you need to re-evaluate your business plan ASAP.

If you have any questions, please contact me and I would be happy to provide more details.

Is there way to retain the current MAC address of the units when upgrading directly without SD card step?

UPDATE:  The MAC address stays the same; but DHCP server of my router assigns the machine a new IP.  The hostname is the same 'antMiner'; anyone come up with a solution where it will connect to the network and bind to the same IP?  (Other than assigning static IPs via the router)
