We're working on a solution that still uses the Bitcoin blockchain, but has instant or near-instant bets.
Awesome!
any time estimate for this?
I think we are in the tough situation now, however, we are better than other coins which are not launched yet.  ;-)
Cheer up devs and guys!

Only pretty good? Wink
Yes, what do you mean?
From my point of view:
1. Icon is acceptable, however, there should have room to improve.
2. In terms of current price of the cap site, the price is definitely too low. Which means we need do more work to help to coin grow.

I say yes, leave the graphic design to the pros.

But man, if you go to CMC and compare it to all the rest, it really looks cool.

Id like to see someone beat that.

If you haven't seen how it STANDS OUT, take a sec and go CMC, and tell me thats not a serious contender, or maybe a winner guys!!!

What are you talking about?

We are on CoinMarketCap.com now. The logo on there is good. Its a different one. Its on the first page of this thread.

But go to the site and see how is looks lined up with the other coins and tell me what you think.

Just had a glimpse of the website and NEM coin is looking pretty good.

Mac wallet does not work. Is Chancecoin.jar file corrupted?

EDIT: It is necessary to download the latest version of JAVA.
After that, the application works  Smiley
Do you use VPN or any proxy? As I know that the connections sometimes dont work well and is better to use VPN.

There's a new article on CoinDesk.
How BitPesa Plans to Reduce Friction in the Remittances Market
http://www.coindesk.com/bitpesa-plans-reduce-friction-remittances-market/

NEM should have mobile SMS functionality.

This is a simple function which I believe will be implemented very easily. However, is it really needed without applications?

Please Give some suggestions about the new betting and gambling functions added to CHA!!!

From magician:

Venetian and I are going to have a discussion about what games and betting functionality to add next, based on all the feedback we've received.
what's your favorite method of sports betting? what existing site is a good example of the style of betting Chancecoin should implement?
and for regular casino games (blackjack, roulette, pai gow, poker, etc.), which ones do you think are most important to implement?
I g2g, but if you guys get a chance to answer those questions, I'll check the responses later.

Football gambling first please!
I Agree - 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil start June 12!
If chancecoin will have an easy client this will be amazing opportunity

other from that poker is the most popular game and I personally also like blackjack (will probably be easier to implement)

(p.s: mightname where did magician say this? it's not here and not in the chancecoin chat).

Here is a new coin  with WorldCup2014 bet .
 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=625201.0
Newbiecoin , decentralized bet WorldCup +Twin-POB+POS, which is modified from the Chancecoin open source.
I had burned a little BTC for a trial, get some newbiecoin, wallet and bet game work fine.

+1. Why CHA no worldcup bet?

I just downloaded Newbiecoin and was disappointed to see that the "world cup betting" feature only allows users to bet on two teams: the winner and runner-up of the entire world up tournament. It looks like Newbiecoin is using a centralized feed fed by the developers to settle that bet - I'm not sure I would trust that and call that decentralized. Furthermore, the dice betting on Newbiecoin is reduced to only allowing users to bet on a 50/50 bet. The website newbiecoin.org is also almost exactly the same as chancecoin.com website. Adopting the chancecoin protocol or codebase is one thing, but this is a gross and blatant act of plagiarism in my opinion.

Just my two cents - this whole world cup betting thing is way overblown. XCP has an implementation of world cup betting xbet.io that functions and looks better than what Newbiecoin has in every way, but it had almost no positive effect on XCP valuation and no betting volume. You can't just make a coin with a main feature that works only for two weeks worth of world cup, does it just die after that?
I agree your first paragraph but dont agree the second. Everything is gonna die not only for coins but people and animals. So I believe world cup betting is a good thought which will engage more investors to the coin.

I own about 20K CHA but have mostly been a lurker on the chancecoin forum since about two months ago. It's great to see how the community has grown since then, and it seems to be really coming alive recently. I guess it's about time for me to stop watching passively on the sidelines and create an account to help with the marketing and promotion.

Btw, don't worry, I'm not selling my 20K CHA anytime soon Smiley

When do you plan to sell CHA? Did you do something bad with your old BTT? What is your old BTT name?  ;0

WTB 5000-15000 CHA. PM me offers!

I hope I can get this order filled before the price rises. I will spend a lot of time promoting CHA if I can accumulate a big stack. So if you hold many CHA you might consider selling me some, so that I promote CHA and help increase the price for ALL your coins Wink
I only have 1000 CHA, what is your price for a CHA?

0.00075 but I have most I need already.

If you only have 1000, then hold them for a long time! You will profit handsomely.

The price you provided is even lower than IPO burned price. I think I will definitely wait until the price soar.

I don't think so. Darkcoin is pretty much coinjoin/sharedcoin. I think the techniques would still apply to Darkcoin as well.

The inputs in the above diagram are not identical.
Check the difference with a DarkSend:

Good news to Dark coin as DarkSend is working pretty well. I believe it will have another soar soon...  ;-)

I was gone all day, come back, almost have enough bitcoins mined (.01 needed) to get a deposit, so I can exchange it for Darkcoins and what happens?  Evan announces a release candidate and once again, I will be paying a higher price for my dark!  Evan, you're lucky I adore you, you munchkin!!!!

BTW, congrats and thanks Smiley

I suppose that the DarkSend function has been included to the wallet for a long time. Why are you saying it is official released?

No wonder prices don't move much in this coin.

Nevertheless, the developer is good and the coin is innovative.

Several top addresses are likely to be exchanges.
Also it's quite clear from cryptsy trades and twitter that some traders are stockpiling.

That is a given, top addresses are likely exchanges (maybe 5 at most). Still very unhealthy distribution and will most likely be a barrier to entry for new investors.

By comparison:

   Top 100 Richest Addresses
Bitcoin   2,397,120 BTC($1,338,518,627 USD)19.09% Total
Litecoin   12,805,933 LTC($198,564,944 USD)47.54% Total
Auroracoin   10,130,190 AUR($67,889,483 USD)95.26% Total
Peercoin   11,968,520 PPC($31,020,934 USD)56.29% Total
Dogecoin   33,028,470,386 DOGE($19,788,298 USD)51.33% Total
Namecoin   4,305,573 NMC($11,407,241 USD)51.51% Total
Quarkcoin   163,381,385 QRK($4,356,810 USD)65.96% Total
Feathercoin   19,009,353 FTC($3,052,022 USD)50.40% Total
Novacoin   507,624 NVC($3,111,261 USD)67.83% Total
Vertcoin   1,085,037 VTC($1,632,417 USD)36.91% Total
Megacoin   14,998,491 MEC($2,015,482 USD)65.92% Total
Worldcoin   31,391,810 WDC($1,618,982 USD)63.02% Total
Terracoin   3,289,608 TRC($381,736 USD)56.86% Total

source: http://bitinfocharts.com/

This would seem to explain a lot, but consider...
1) about average?: it's about average among the coins here as far as the other Rich Lists here: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/
2) what is the total number of addresses?: one issue with these distribution measures is that they dont factor in the total number of addresses. A new coin might have only 200 addresses, so you'd expect the top 200 to own 100%. Point is, the standard rich-list measure that looks only at number of addresses doesn't factor in what percentage of the total number of addresses those top addresses make up.
3) exchanges: they make up big shares of any rich list, and different coins can have different levels of trading intensity on the exchanges.

In any case, kudos for this kind of info. Coin distribution is clearly a key metric the market cares about. As we can see with the success of BC, an otherwise unremarkable coin, on one end and the failure of QRK, which was very innovative at the time it was released, on the other end (and many other examples in between on both sides of the spectrum), people want insulation from the risk of big-whale coin dumps and are willing to pay for it and put that consideration over any other considerations about a coin's qualities, its dev's or its community's.

I would assume some wallets belong to some exchanges rather than private accounts.
