What a exponential rise over less than 2 week!
The coin started weeks ago around 2k satoshi, and now almost at 7k satohi, more than trippling its price.

Newbie to the forum and fairly new to mining.
I have been mining LOKI for about a week. Seems to be going OK. 8 amd 580's, averaging about 7 LOK's a day. That part probably doesn't pay the electric bill, which is OK. I'm looking at it as more of a "buy and hold" strategy.
The thing that has me a bit concerned is, there seems to be no place to exchange LOK. Again, I'm all about buy and hold but a what point does this become a poor strategy if there's no place to cash in.
I would really appreciate the forum's thoughts on the LOKI marketplace and any other advice you'd have for a relative newbie. Much appreciated.

After weeks of testing, we are pleased fully release software for the upcoming mainnet launch of Service Nodes on the 20th of September. Many thanks to the community who have helped us test and find issues - without you this would have been a lot slower! This release marks the beginning of the mandatory upgrade period. You will need to update your software if you are a pool operator or exchange, and clients will need to update before they can send transactions after the hardfork. A GUI update will also go live in the next 24 hours.
A note to pool operators - there appears to have been some issues with a common dependacy for many mining pools with recent updates. Jack has updated his reference implementation to include the fix for these issues: https://github.com/jcktm/node-cryptoforknote-util or if you do not use this particular software, the specific commit that fixes the issue can be found here: https://github.com/jcktm/node-cryptoforknote-util/commit/dde20b6a43029003d1ef18a8879dc338b44eea88 As always, if you need help with upgrades, jump on the discord!

You are misinformed. Every platform could be utilized regardless of the price of the tokens. One of the reasons for the major price decline for ETH is that the ICO's that have raised millions of dollars are now panicking and dumping some of their ETH's to keep operations going. Waves just released smart contracts and are now in the spotlight. People are starting to realize how undervalued this project is and can feel the tsunami coming.
Coinbase or Gemini are safer and better options to purchase cryptocurrencies. You can use a debit or credit card which is good as cash. I be very cautious using any new websites to purchase anything.

I hope to see the ERC-20 tokens that Coinbase is looking to add on the Waves platform. Those ERC-20 tokens are BAT and ZRX. Voting shouldn't be required for these tokens as most will only vote for the tokens they are currently holding anyways.
