Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment

Just FYI - I used the privkey regeneration trick and I finally got my first payment....weird though, it paid out only 0.5...when all other payments have been 1.000xxxx.
Anyone know why that is?

Oh wait..all payouts from pool_unknown_11...are for 0.5 instead of 1.
Just curious.

Expected, yes. Since the enforcement is not on, the pool can "manipulate" how much they pay out to the Masternodes if they wish. Heck, they could do 100% if they wanted right now. In this case, pool_unknown_11 is still using a previous version from about a month ago, and have not updated. This version was when MN payouts were set at 10%. Hence the 0.5 payout. Now its 20%. They are seriously out of date.

When the enforcement-switch is turned on, everyone who has NOT updated to the new 10.11.xx version will have all their block orphaned.

So basically, Evan created yet another totally new concept that "we" dubbed "spork". A soft-fork that can be switched to a hard-fork, and back to soft-fork if needed in case anything goes wrong.

So we're running a "test" on mainnet without affecting the network at all.
So absolutely nothing wrong here, except for pool_unknown_11 that is clearly out of the loops and being irresponsible and incompetent.

Congrats on your payout though! Feels good doesnt it? Wink

Awesome, thanks. And yes it does.

DarkCoin masternodes fail again, price crashes - http://www.usacryptocoins.com/thecryptocurrencytimes/uncategorized/darkcoin-masternodes-fail-again-price-crashes/

About a month ago DarkCoin attempted to implement masternodes. Masternodes are used to ‘mix’ DarkCoins, making transactions anonymous. If you own a masternode you get paid a portion of the block reward every time your masternode is selected, which would be quite lucrative over time. This generated a lot of interest from the community, and DarkCoin’s price soared to 0.028 BTC/DarkCoin. Unfortunately, the implementation of the masternodes failed and resulted in many forks, destabilizing the entire DarkCoin system. DarkCoin was briefly delisted from exchanges and its price crashed below 0.01 BTC/DarkCoin http://www.usacryptocoins.com/thecryptocurrencytimes/uncategorized/darkcoin-blockchain-forks-resulting-in-price-crash-and-temporary-delisting-from-exchanges/

The DarkCoin development team had been working on a fix for the masternodes, and tried launching masternodes again today. Speculation drove prices up to 0.021 BTC/DarkCoin before the masternode launch. The masternode launch was a failure once again. Forks developed in the DarkCoin blockchain, making it dangerous to send and receive DarkCoin. The developers of DarkCoin were forced to halt masternodes and go back to the original DarkCoin code. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/reverting-rc3-masternode-payments-fork.1458/

The price of DarkCoin crashed 30% after today’s failed masternode launch, ending up around 0.015 BTC/DarkCoin. I expect price to continue declining in the short term, since masternodes were the main reason DarkCoin’s price was rising. It is hard to tell where the bottom will be, and investing in DarkCoin now is a risky decision. DarkCoin is still near the top of a price bubble, and bad news like this may be enough to finally pop the bubble.

Very sensible advice and on the mark.
I feel sorry for those that paid $16 each for them at their all time high!

Anyway, its very risky, and if Evan ever gets it to work, well, the competition will have already caught up...
In fact, i could say that it already has, at least a couple of competitors have a solution that is already working...

Yes, totally different solutions...that don't do anonymity, just do something that sounds like it.
I've reviewed them all, and so have most of us.

All of the others are actually significantly behind.

Kinda annoying that that article above acts like masternodes don't work...since they have for a long while. Just the payments don't work yet....it's not even close to the same thing.

But keep spreading FUD and nonsense. It's what you'll do.

However, now I'm confirmed DRK will be the next #2.

There is no way it can't - you see how many people show up to FUD when something doesn't go right.
There isn't a single other coin that isn't threatened by what DRK is doing.

I still don't get how evan could make this revert-decision based on a non-stabilized environment with massive entropy, just one hour after a hard fork. I mean, you devs did expect orphans and concurrent blocks after a hard fork, dint't you?
I'm a bit concerned. This is why.

I'm binge-watching The Walking Dead until the dust settles.

Agreed. Doesn't make sense. I get that it took "too long" - however, the case that 25% of the network didn't update and thus were creating forks - isn't this okay ....isn't that an edge case that won't happen often?

Maybe its a case of reaping what DRK Fudders have sown, the massive FUD attacks on XC...  And look who is laughing now

XC - XNODES working, Anonymous technology (multipath implemented) - yes it worked - no fork - Oh and a top tier pro dev who knows what he is doing.

DRK - well we can see where DRK is... Fork anyone?

Better call the Karma Police?

You miss the point that xnodes are useless, even when working.

We haven't gotten the final word yet! Don't update

Updating the files in the official GIT repo is the final word and you should update.

No it isn't. It could easily be a precaution.

why is the price going down every second ? i bought all my DRK when it was at 21k and didnt sell at 25k, now i am in big trouble

If you don't know anything about the coin then why invest?
Everyone who knows anything about the coin knows exactly what is going on, what the real value is, and when it will start to take off.

Price sliding, guess people don't have as much faith as last hard fork.

Sliding ?? seriously? You consider that to be a sliding?

At that volume I call it "Your very last chance to ever own a Masternode"

Yeah, I was typing basically this exact response.
Why are you even here if you have no clue what you are looking at?

1 HR Mintpal chart looks like a slide to me, sorry if I offended you with my apparent blindness.

you didnt offend me dude, nor did I call you blind. Did you feel attacked by my answer/questions?

 Sorry then

EDIT:  Oh wait, you werent referring to me ...  Grin - my bad

No, just a sarcastic remark to sukottasan_d  Grin  Trust me, I am all in on DRK and fully believe in it.  Moving between 0.016 and 0.018 doesn't bother me.  I have been here since the 0.0010 days and plan to be here well beyond the 0.1 days!

Lol, sorry, figured it was over the top.
And no, not offended - weak hands would react to a statement like that you made though....though, I guess most of those are gone from here now.

http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptCoin/comments/28e8be/security_analysis_of_cryptcoins_cryptcast_feature/

CryptCoin due for some major dumping action if this is true, that's practically a given anyway since Fontas is involved.

Well spotted. either centralized or decentralized msg nodes will be needed.

Don't get us all started on that joke of a coin. I can't believe people are so wanting anonymity that they'll buy anything with it attached even if the tech doesn't do any of it.
Neutrino...now this....
It's painful for us people who know what we are looking at and understand the tech.

Re-initialization of Advanced Neutrino Coin blockchain

Neutrino neutrinocoin released this on Mar 31 · 18 commits to master since this release

We are re-initializing the Advanced Neutrino Coin blockchain. The reason is that we found a flaw in the initial release which we felt put the blockchain at risk of being unverifiable in certain scenarios. The genesis block reward was set inconsistently in two parts of the code: at initialization, it was set to 1 coin and when being verified it was expected to be 3992. We could not guarantee that this would not cause verification problems in the future, and so, reluctantly, decided for the sake of the community to re-initialize so we could all have a blockchain that we could trust. Apologies to those who have mined some coins, but you will all have the chance to start again, and in fact this next round will be arguably more fair, since presumably more people now know about Advanced Neutrino Coin. Incidentally, we also have changed the difficulty retarget from 24 blocks to 12 blocks to make the network more resilient to changes in hash-rate, but this was a relatively minor change and one we may revisit in the future depending on feedback from the community.

So wait...they reinitialized the blockchain ....less then 3 months ago....
And...the 210,000,000 coins got mined in less then 3 months? with no release info really..
Fun..doesn't sound scammy at all.

Reviewed the code - ....they integrated Tor...which does nothing for anonymity in this type of system. I know that's what they say but they muddle it up with all kinds of other info on their site and all that.
Look like a cash grab. <---- I realize everyone suspected such. Just wanted to say I did a code review....and for the record - it doesn't take long cause they didn't add much.
