Are quite good. I can setup a node in 90 minutes while taking my time, if I bootstrap the blockchain using the instructions included.

Personally, it isn't worth the trouble to try to clone at the numbers you are referring to. IMO you will spend more time troubleshooting that install than simply doing a proper install. Your mileage may vary and I am sure that someone will have a different opinion.

What VPS host?
What plan?
Whose instructions are you using?
Why so much swap? You only need 4 gb of swap (match your RAM)
Has your blockchain fully downloaded per instructions?
