Hi I was wondering if I don't want interest in any of my coins. Is that possible? I am new to crypto and don't really understand this interest scenarios.

Hi,
there are at 2 possibilities to gain coins through calculation.

PoW (Bitcoin for an example) means: You do the calculations with your hardware and gaining coins. This calculations need much CPU/GPU power. So it means much power consumption. While coming to max supply, the difficulty increases and the coin output decreases by time. Also you as a miner got the task to verify the transactions.

PoS (Stealthcoin as an example) is the other way around: You open your wallet for staking. This way you lend coins to the blockchain (you stake), the blockchain itself generates a new block from the collected coins and gives you your lend coins back, plus the stake generated through the transaction fee.

Means: Very low power usage, the oldest notebook with at least one gb free ram could be used. You really gain coins, just by letting your wallet "unlocked for staking only" means no transaction is possible.

With Stealthcoin you are able to earn 20% p.a coins from the first coin on.

Stuck at 92% syncing after dropping using the bootstrap.

Any ideas?

Just leave it syncing. That takes several hours.
If you don't want to wait, contact me.

What is the best tutorial for setting up as raspberry pi wallet for POS and is there a way to sync it to the blockchain through a download of the history to speed up the process?

Welcome bitblito,

to setup a Raspberry Pi for Stealthcoin please contact me at Stealthcoin.slack.com (@sushi2k7) or in telegram messenger (sushi2k7)

The tutorial is huge and maybe you don't need the whole process. Also I want to make sure, that you have help by your side.

Sascha

Is it worthwhile to do this?
I was able to get it to run and sync, but it seems that the stakeweight of the coin is far too high to actually have much impact.
I understand it does secure the network, but I am curious if it is actually beneficial as far as stake is concerned

You will gain 20% p.a. no matter what + the worth increase of the coin.

The Raspberry Pi has some more benefits see my tutorial

Stupid little question:
I tried the whole thing with the bootstrap but in some way it didn't worked for me (after starting the client, it was just stuck at 64 for ever).

But I had the client installed before (though it was not synchronized) and made a back up of my wallet.
I already had send some XST to my wallet (wasn't synchronized so I couldn't see them though).

I'm synchronizing the client again right now but how do I open the old wallet (I encrypted the wallet already back then)?
Do I have to insert the back up somewhere?

Thanks guys  Smiley

After your wallet has synced, close your wallet and copy your old wallet.dat to your personal Stealthcoin folder and restart your wallet.

Now you have to enter your old passphrase and voila, your old wallet is useable.

I need to open the mining??

Good luck.

No it's not mining, it's minting. Xst ist "proof of stake".
You have 2 steps to unlock your wallet.
Step 1 is "unlock for staking only", so you can lend your coins to the blockchain and get rewarded coins.

Step 2 is fully unlocked then for doing transactions. In step 1 is no transaction possible.

Can I also minting this coin whilst storing it in my Ledger Nano S ? Sorry for this maybe silly question, but I am a non professional in IT ;-)

No you can't.
One of the benefits is that you aren't online.
Because of that these wallets are called "cold storage"

Dear community,

I ordered some Stealthcoins with one public address last month and received them successfully.
Yesterday I ordered more coins with this address. When I looked in the ladger wallet, the coins did not arrive this time.
The public address has changed and I have no access to the coins from the second order with the first public address. I only see the first order.

Does it take a long time for the coins to appear in the wallet? Is it possible to use the public address several times?

Just wondering bcz it should be!

Never heard from such lists. Need to read about it. Thanks

Congrats on ledger. Now how in the heck did you guys make that happen? My eyebrow is raised and would like to know why I should invest 10k in your coin.

Sweet!  Will staking occur while on the ledger wallet?

Probably not, as far as I understand , Ledger is a hardware and offline wallet... Even not useful to store that much coins, that staking would be profitable...
You wouldn't carry 50k USD in your trousers, would you?

I was wondering a few things. I had trouble with this wallet i'm not tech savy .my wallet was stuck and I tried sending coins but nothing was sent becuase wallet would not update or it said it was updating but taking forever. So these coins never were sent .I just let them in there .The hd ended up dead but now I got access to it and was wondering a couple things. Can i get adress and keys from one of the folders files?or do I need to open it up?And since I tried sending the coins and they never were sent what happens? If I start a new client and enter old info and keys into an updated client will it send the coins automaticly or will it act like I never pressed send since the old client never finished updating the blockchain?

please help

Lastly
I am not tech savvy So putting all these things in from github is a pain in the ass. When will there be a linux client?why aren't the developers more involved ...seems like this coin would be on fire if it was easier to use
.This coin is a great coin if they were on top of things it would be worth a lot more.whith all the money thats coming from coins these days cant you get more people working on it?
  thank you
