David Ruscoe and Russell Moore from Grant Thornton New Zealand were yesterday appointed liquidators of Cryptopia

Despite the efforts of management to reduce cost and return the business to profitability, it was decided the appointment of liquidators was, in the best interests of customers, staff and other stakeholders.

The liquidators are focused on securing the assets for the benefit of all stakeholders. While this process and investigations take place, trading on the exchange is suspended.

“Given the complexities involved we expect the investigation to take months rather than weeks.”

The liquidators are also working with independent experts and the relevant authorities with regards to the company’s obligations.

Grant Thornton will be contacting all customers and suppliers about its appointment in the next few days.

Got myself setup at IRCEX quickly and easily, deposited some GCN, (manual refresh to generate a wallet ID, but totally expected based on your instruction).  Easy enabling of Google Authenticator.  Fast confirmation and acceptance of deposit - probably a hair over 10 seconds. 

Easy entering to setup a bid.  Great experience so far - simple, straight forward, pleasing to the eye.  I like it a lot.

An exchange with GCN as a trading pair would be awesome... I can see it helping to prop up and lend credibility to newer, lesser value coins.  We're a long way from parity with the BTC/ETH/LTC/DOGE of the world, but an affordable entry cost for new coins with great ideas will benefit more projects far and wide.  As they say, a rising tide lifts all ships... I don't see any real down-side to any of this.

GCN is a good fit with DOGE as a pair, but a problem is most of the major, popular exchanges don't offer DOGE pairs.

A 1000:1 swap would be beneficial to up the value and stand tall with a BTC pair, but I'm sure that's not in the cards.

We need an exchange like Bleutrade was in 2014-15.

It appears globecryptomarkets is closing up shop early (after admin advised to withdraw all coins by 1/25).  Just tried logging in (correct u/n, pw and capcha) and presented with a "Sory You Do not Have Permission To Access This Page. Please contact support!!" page.

Support ticket submitted, will advise as I learn more.  Love to get my coins outta there, but for one brief shining moment I scored 30 litochis on about a million GCN.  Bragging rights will be preserved if I can get 'em outta there LOL.

I've been the GCN/DOGE activity on globalcryptoexchange -- smooth, simple, easy -- perfect really.  It's a plain and simple site -- just need volume -- I threw about 6mil over there to get early sells high in BTC, LTC and DOGE.

Buys and sells work, nice notifications and confirmations on the user side -- gotta assume LTC and BTC are the same.

Anybody else having problems getting their hands on HTMLCoin-1.3.2.1-setup.exe from the link on site?  ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED on my end.

Came across an old flash drive with my HTML5 wallet.dat today and I'd love to know what I had in 2014 lol

FWIW, I just successfully transferred GCN from Cryptopia to southxchange -- incoming to southxchange showed up almost immediately, and a little over 5 minutes to hit the account as received after confirmations.

Now to retool my brain to think in terms of LTC cuz I usually do DOGE.  Small matter, but thanks Greg!

What games are using GCoin? Looks interesting so far

For Android, there's a slot machine, bubble shooter and Tron-like light bike game.  Search for GCN in the store -- you'll find 'em.  Decent fun, decent payouts... the wallets feeding the games get pounded, so don't spend a lot of time on running up a large number before cashing out, as Try Again Later errors happen.  Win some, cash out, repeat.

I've been invested in GCoin for about 3 years.  It's a high cap, slow build, long game kind of coin.  The distribution of GCN through games led me to it -- easiest barrier to entry to overcome -- no expensive mining rigs, no bank account draw that I have to explain to the wife... I earned millions from playing games on my cell phone.  Can't beat that.  Just took some time and effort -- which is what GCN is all about.  Keep working at it making it better than yesterday.

Had a .00250000 doge buy order at Cryptopia.  Overnight low was .00250001.

At least my gut instinct is dialed in with almost NASA-like precision, right?  lol

Eh, you can plan exhaustively.  You can check, double check, test and retest.  In the end, space shuttles still blow up.

Timing wasn't the best, for sure, but the devs have been responsive, and that's a helluva lot more than most coins.

Yes, a great looking website helps to build a certain amount of credibility.  The same site also takes time, effort and resources that are currently being put in to making a stronger, better coin and environment around it.

I'll take a run of the mill site and a killer coin any day.
