All or most of savings in bitcoin? I hope most of even the forumites are smarter than that...unless you are young and/or have very little savings.
I have all my savings in BTC. Of course. I'm not and idiot. Are you american? (and still a strong believer in your monopoly toy money?)
We just went to 590-605(bitstamp-btc-e) price in matter of minutes.
Any news that justify that, or just some whale tired of bitcoin/price manipulation?
What I think: A lot of people have their summer vacations right now, and many of us (tech geeks at BTC forums) has all or most of their savings in BTC.Any news that justify that, or just some whale tired of bitcoin/price manipulation?
So they sell some to get money for travel and vacations. Sell pressure. At the same time that buy pressure is low when a large part of us is on vacation.
And major investors won't step in right now. Probably in september/october we will see a lot more action.
Personally I would actually LIKE to see BTC be at this level or lower, for at least another couple of years (!!) so that I can save and invest more money in BTC.
Also stability aroung $600 would probably help for more mainstream adoption.
The main criticism and skepticism I've heard is about the volatility. Personally I think 1 BTC should be worth at least $2000 by the end of the year, and I believe that it possibly could be worth x10 times that, in 2014. But it would be much more profitable for ME if thoose level is delayed a couple of years.
I have a friend of mine at the conference this weekend and he has been speaking to a few people who think a $5000 + bitcoin could be possible.
Thoughts ?
My guess: Possible this year but I would rather think around $2500 this year and at least $5000 next year. For 2016 we could see $25000 or even more. Thoughts ?
From there who knows. If we get mass adoption and the US dollar crashes then so does EUR & GBP. Then we'll go to a moon in another galaxy. So I will be hodling an buying for at least 5 years.
Even if BTC wont be "the final global crypto winner", it's not a problem for us. Surely most of us will see such development early and exchange our BTC to the new global standard in due time and possibly make even more by being even earlier adopters then we are now.
3) We will figure out our business model once we have a strong user-base. We are also very open to community input on what you think the best ways to do this are. Rest assured our #1 priority is keeping our users happy!!!
OK, well I am not sure about the security here. You say that you don't have access to my private keys or wallet but how can I know this for sure? What happens if I put 10 BTC in the wallet today and they magically disappears tomorrow? Do I get a refund or will you go bankrupt like MtGox?

This was just broadcasted on Swedish National TV (basically the Swedish version of CNN or BBC news). The effect on Bitcoin price is probably marginal, but still nice to see..
