The new beta version is finally ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.7a from here:

PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Windows.zip (GitHub)
PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Linux.tar.gz (GitHub)

The new features in this release are:

  • Added lock core clock
  • The problem with the missing GPU temperatures on Nvidia GPUs is fixed
  • Added native kernels for AMD RX6700 GPUs. These are faster than the generic kernels and produce a lot less stale shares
  • Increase the max supported DAG epoch to 550 (should be enough to about Jan 2023)
  • Full support for setting clocks, fan speeds, voltages, and memory timings of AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards
  • The specific hashrate is now shown in the form of kilo hashes per joule (kH/J). Example: if a GPU has hashrate of 30 MH/s with 100W power usage, the specific hashrate is 300 kH/J
  • Added new command-line parameters -ttj and -ttmem, allowing automatic fan speed control based on GPU hotspot (junction), and memory temperatures respectively. Example: -ttmem 83 will keep the GPU memory temperature at or bellow 83C by increasing the fan speed as necessary. These parameters can be combined with -tt, as well as with each other. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added new command-line parameters -tmaxj and -tmaxmem, allowing to decrease the GPU usage when the GPU hotspot (junction), or GPU memory temperatures are above the specified thresholds. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers 21.3.2, and 21.3.1
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers 20.50.x. Use this drivers only if you have Polaris or older GPUs, or the latest RX6x000 GPUs. WARNING: Vega, Radeon VII, and Navi GPUs won't work with these drivers!
  • Turn off the zero fan feature on AMD cards whenever a fixed fan speed is used (e.g. -tt -40), or when an auto fan with min fan speed is used (e.g. -tt 63 -minfan 35). To disable this feature, add -fanstop 1 command-line parameter
  • When -mcdag 1 is specified under Linux, the miner will not wait for the daggen.sh script to finish before starting to generate the DAGs. Instead it will for a fixed 7 seconds. This allows you to do all the following in the daggen.sh: turn off the overclocking of Nvidia GPUs, sleep for 30-60 seconds to allow time for DAG generation, and then re-apply the overclocking of the Nvidia GPUs
  • Other small improvements and fixes

The support for -ttj, -ttmem, -tmaxj, and -tmaxmem for Nvidia 3090 and 3080 GPUs is not yet ready for release. We hope to have it ready for the final 5.7 release.

For more robust integrity check, you can use our GPG public key, which was verifyed with ETH transaction from our main devfee account as explained here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.msg56755869#msg56755869.

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.7a.

Hi guys, i'm not in the mining worl anymore since 5 or 6 months... Right now i see all this pictures of this big guys and their colosus mining rigs..
I can't stop thinking that mining is not profitable anymore.
With this prices, if you buy 6000 usd of bitcoins instead of a miner (KNC) you get real profit when the prices go up again.
Im very sab with this cause honestly i love to make money with all my GPUs. I think the industry f*cked all of us.
Thanks for still supporting Bitcoin and litecoin, and giving us more and more security.

Hey guys ! i got a intel i7 4770k overclocked to 4.4 ghz, my problem is that the 64b version miner doesn't work, it just crash when i try to open the miner.
So, does anyone have that CPU and uses 64b version?? i really wanna use the 64b version cause it should give me better hash rate i think.
Im getting +/- 140-150 HS on 32b.

Any CPU only coin is useless.  Just a get rich quick scheme for botnet owners controlling 50,000 computers.  Either the algorithm has to be changed, or it has to go myriadcoin style somehow.

I mined BMR on day 2 and got 0.  God forbid someone tries to CPU mine it a month from now.  Coin is dead in the water until it's not CPU only.

That's called bad luck. I mined on day 2 with a stock CPU and found a couple blocks, which is about what's expected.

I like the idea of CPU mining sounds more fair to me although I don't have scientific data to prove my hypotheses. But Mining is a 24h a day job intensive CPU usage..., so if I have a 10000 nodes botnet I would not risk to loose it (except for a very valuable coin) ... much better sell or rent a botnet on black markert to ddos targets ...
Dude im using i7 4770k @3.9ghz and test it at 4600 ghz with my WC system. i think already foun like 4000 blocks, less than a day of mining.
Could it be posible or im wrong?

by
sweeppicking
on 25/11/2013, 07:58:15 UTC

Re: SHA256 hashrate VS Scrypt Hashrate
by
sweeppicking
on 17/07/2013, 09:46:21 UTC
Its cause you're doing it wrong. In Scrypt mining, hash rates are x1000 times low than SHA-256, so, with a ATI 7970 you can get +- 700 mhs in SHA-256 and only 700 Khs on scrypt algorythms.
You need to read the, Scrypt readme file from CGminer.
Also, in CPU miner you get 3 times your maximun speed, normally you should get 15mhs and 15khs. So i think you may use that 45khs Wink
Sorry for bad english, i'm From Argentina.

Re: Keeping Bitcoin Price High
by

I think the problem of price decreasing is for the new ASICs, people is trying to not lose their money by selling their Bitcoin so high as they can.
It was the obvious problem of the first ASICs aparition, then the GPU miner will go to scrypt coins like litecoins and wild drop that price too because of the big quantity of coins generated till the difficulty sets up.
I think that the solution is to hold our coins and wait to almost asics shipped and the strong up before the drop of this days.

same story with scrypt mining...  I cant get past intensity 13 with out crashing, witch leaves me in the in the 500kh/s range.  Tried all sorts of settings. Again I think I need to flash the bios, but I dont know what Bios will work with this card.  I am very open to any suggestions.

I doubt you can go far -I 13, i have 7970 reference cards, Vapor X, Dual X and ASUS DC II, none of them can go more than 13.
I can help you with the config if you want:

-o x -u x -p x  --shaders 2048 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-fan 80

How much can you get with that config?

that puts me in dynamic intensity, and sets me at around 20 kh/s, so i changed to 12 intensity, and that puts me at 450 kh/s.  When I go to 13 intensity, I get just over 700 kh/s, but I crash after 2-3 minutes.
From all that I have read, Im almost positive I need to flash my bios.

:/ well you can do that, in any case you can go back to the first BIOS.
You can try with less frecuency on engine and  memory, allways respecting the ratio: --gpu-engine  950   --gpu-memclock 1357

on 04/06/2013, 20:42:58 UTC
Hi all, i've got 7 7970 and 12 5830 cards, i mine Worldcoin/Litecoin usually, but sometimes i mine new altcoins in solo mode for win some profit, my question is, How can i check the hash than i'm sending to the network?

Litecoin solo mining calculator says (example) 10 minutes too found a block, but when i mine, use to need like 20 or 30 minutes to find one.
