I mined with 500-600 megahashes for a month about a month ago and got .3 of a coin so with increased difficulty and what not, I would say a long time? I was using Slush's pool, I gave up. I'm presuming you have a Block Erupter?

This bounty will go to split between two prizes, 0.1 for good configuration and purchase link with best price. 0.1 for addressing some of my questions. Both can be awarded to same person.
Computer will be used to duel boot linux (primary) and windows.
Requirements:
1. An 8 core i7 of one of the more recent generations (Haswell or Ivy Bridge, not sure about price/performance)
2. 32gb ram
3. 1 SSD of around ~100gb or so for OSes
4. 2x HHD in raid 0
