I have some HEX8A1 130 and I was planing to buy more mining power,  and now I see one technobit web page the Avalon Gen 3 based miners,  and I dont know which one is better, if this one or the hex8a1.  The price is lower but the hash power is lower too, maybe the difference is the power needed.  I dont know which one to buy.

How hot are your devices? I feel like they are too hot. When I press my finger on the hottest part of the cooler, I cannot hold it for longer than ~15-20 seconds.

Same here, about 10 seconds.  I think that is normal. If you put your finger on the hotest part of a cpu, you get burned instantly.

Did anybody try this cgminer for windows?  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=476970.msg5903836#msg5903836

it works to me but instead of getting 130Gh  I get 126Gh with the HEX8A1.

What about hw errors dude ?

0.05% hw  in 5 hours of work. I think I've found the solution, so now I'm mining at 130Gh, it seems the windows program Hexminer handle the frecuency and voltage a bit different than the windows cgminer. I've been playing a bit with those parameters, and now the windows cgminer works perfect.  I like cgminer cause Cgwatcher monitor it very well.

Please share "the solution" Wink
I've done minor tests with the windows version of cgminer for technobit, basically to see that it's working, so it's interesting to get some feedback

Here is my cgminer.conf  with average hasrate of 133 Gh after 5 hours.  Feel free to use that config, so I will see some extra mining on my account.  Grin

Im on the same boat...
Maybe i split 50/50 on waflle and on vert ?

What is killing me is the fuxing energy costs.... nothing more...

Best Regards,

LPC

Here you can see the profitability of vertcoin and multipools.

Is the profits better on that coins?
Is very discoraging investing so much money (that i didn´t have so i use a loan), and now the market is so bad... bad.. bad...

Any good pool for Vert coins?

Thanks is advance...

Best Regards,

LPC

Well the profit in VTC is very volatile, but yes I've made more money there the last weeks, but now is also very low. I dont really care about now, I think about next months, so we have to wait a bit, now all is changing. If in one month or so scrypt N coins are not profitable, I will just stop GPU mining.  On Ebay GPU's still have a good price to recover some money. I've also heard a new generation of GPU's that will use half power are just coming, so our GPU's are not a solid investment for a long time at all.

Hi!

Guess its time to shut down my farm, if the prices get bellow of 0.005 per mh, its no profitable to mine, the cost of electricity will eat away any profit!

My questions are...
- Show i sell the mining rigs? Im asking that because i don´t know if the value will ever come up to 0.01 per 1 mh.
- There is any alternative atm?

- I have atm 4 rigs and 8.3 mhash of combined processing power

I just feel i have missed a train... i started in January and since that time it have come downhilll... value of alt-coins lowered, btc price crashed...
Now what?

Best Regards,

LPC

In my opinion the gridseed will kick gpu's from Scrypt, same as before the Asics kicked the Gpu from sha coins.  I've said that before and some users said that will never happen, well, I'm not an expert but I think this is already happening, slowly yes, but just wait a bit the next gridseed generation.
Gpu's will need to move, I did it already, I just mine Scrypt-N coins, waiting to maybe wafflepool or another one makes a multipool of Scrypt-N coins.

Guys, try the latest 0.5.4pre2 version of Vertminer: http://www.mediafire.com/download/533i8bag5fu2f2k/VertMiner-0.5.4pre2.7z

Don't set anything but --shaders and intensity, and let it configure itself, and don't forget it's not --scrypt but --Nscrypt.

My line:

vertminer --nscrypt -I 18 --shaders 2560  -o server -u username -p password

well that totally didn't work for me. GPUs won't even start like that, trying the miner out, but having to put in all the settings again, this nscrypt does seem like pure voodoo like that guy said Sad

I had same problem. GPUs off,  you just need 8mb of ram, then all works.

The funny thing is when I'm mining, I look the system memory and I'm just using 1.6 mb,  so I dont understand why 4mb not enough.

. VTC might blow the sky once the 25-30mhz asics come out..

I've been thinking a lot about the future when asics come. GPU's will have to move to scrypt n, thousands of miners on VTC and at the end of the day most of them trying to sell them to get some money to pay for the power and gpu cost, cause they come from a market where they were losing money cause asics. So imagine the price of VTC with thousands and thousands of new sellers.   To keep the price we need thousands of new buyers.

At the moment it would be wise if some large farms reduce their workforce in this pool ... to keep under 25

In this way it is these large farms will earn more / 0.75 + /

Maybe large farms are already doing that, and maybe as long as they reduce it,  CEX colaborators increase it in order to have to pay only 1.25 more.

I just wonder why don't they limit hash/ip address if they want more users to register, since pools are pointing to ghash.io

cex.io and all that bullshit what comes with it lol.  Grin

I completely understand them,  they just want new clients and offer more reward.  They dont want all pools go there to get their money. Is there someone who cant understand something as easy as this one?.  I would do exactly the same.

If wafflepool tomorrow give extra % to new clients, and all pools come to mine here to get his money, he will do ALL to stop them, right?

I think one pool should not mine on another pool. If ghash.io give more reward now is to attract new clients, not to give proffit to other pools.  It is like I make a new business, I give free drinks and food for new clients, and someone comes, take all food and go to sell it to take profit.
Imagine now clevermining has a perfect scrypt and makes a lot of money, then wafflepool mine there to get that profit.

Not all is about to get any profit in any way.  We should keep some moral rules.

nothing received yet at my address:
1HbTi4T4BfuBpcuSA5kiE8vCD1NPxFYtct

Why ?

sorry, we took your money to pay a dinner with all pool members.

Sunday you will get your money.

What is the minimal balance for payout?
Daily payouts are for balances of 0.01 BTC or more. There's also a once per week payout for 0.001 BTC balances on Saturday/Sunday nights.

Looks like another spike in hash rate on LTC. I wonder if it is the Gridseed ASIC coming on line. It might start pushing out the GPU's.

I dont think it would be the gridseeds.
The only thing they have going for them is lower power consumption.
In terms of price vs their hash, GPUs still win.
It takes at least 2 gridseeds to get around 700kh/s
But if you're like me and electricity is expensive, ASICs are the way to go now.
Im seriously thinking about selling my GPUs, so yeah they are getting pushed out.

Now we just see 1º generation of gridseeds, very soon more efficient ones will come. Same story we had with sha. GPUs will need to move to ASIC resistant coins.

Yep, my electricity costs are .0045/Mh/day so I'm very close to power-down time  Sad

Not just you, we are almost all close, except those who  seems to have free power.
