I don't know if I would call this a scam, not just yet. But clearly a bad and unjust call by the referee which decided the game against those who actually scored the goals and rightfully deserved to win it.
As for Luke - By siding with the losing side on this with his supposedly-clever word-playing, he comes off, at the very least, as a major a bull***t artist. It's the same kind of bull***t artistry I got used to seeing from BFL over the time I've been following them since I ordered (and now - waiting for my refund).

I think it will drop short term when the army of ASIC come online, then go back up..

My viewpoint exactly. I think once ASICs become more commonplace there would be more supply than demand, until a new equilibrium is reached (e.g. the difficulty will rise to make mining less common) and then the value will rise again. Until the next technology comes along...

At least for now I wouldn't buy anything with bitcoins. I'd keep them to myself. Their market value is rising, and as far as buying stuff with bitcoins is concerned - we are experiencing serious deflation. Until that changes I see no reason for spending bitcoins rather than paper money.

I believe if the exchange rate of BTC continues to rise, as I believe it will, we will see a reduction in the nominal value of BTC fees. I mean, essentially what we're seeing wight now is deflation in the BTC economy.

Started with bitcoin a few months ago
I'm one of many BFL ASIC victims thus far...
