Re: [ANN][BITLATTICE] A Revolutionary Step - Bitlattice.org

Do you think Bitlattice is better than holochain at present?

Yes. It is. It has a different structure on which all operations are performed (casted). Holochain is actually a pretty smart multichain, but still variation of a known scheme.
“but still variation of a known scheme.”Can it be explained simply?
Multichain is a known scheme - used in variety of projects. Holochain has distributed hash table that stores hashes of child chains. Not very new approach, but nicely done. BL differs by using spatial distribution to deal with computational and storage constraints.

I do not see any relation between "computational and storage constraints" and "storage of hashes of child chains".

What does "using spatial distribution to deal with computational and storage constraints" means? Could you elaborate on this?

Interesting project! Wish you all the luck and looking forward to contribute. I can think of two ways: 1. Investing 2. Testing

Just sent an email about investing and testing. I am not developer but I have read the thread and it seems not necessary so I also e-mailed about that possibility. Looking forward to your e-mail reply.

Re: After corrections, Bitcoin is now ready to go to $1777!
by

We will see 17777$ bitcoins by the year 2017 but there will be casualties. I'm not sure whether it's all good after that. Your 17k bitcoins may be a drop of honey in a pot of shit.

I think it's time to remind everyone that I was right  Grin (haters gonna hate victory dance)
I predicted 17k BTC for the year 2017 when it was trading at ~300$

what's the worth of a 17k bitcoin if the TX fees are so high that you can't spend any?
the price tag of 17k is effectively a drop of honey in a pot of shit

Amazing prediction! What do you mean by "the price tag of 17k is effectively a drop of honey in a pot of shit"? I believe it is overvalued and as such drops more than 50% from that but still I believe the long term growth will surpass that. Do you mean now we have other cryptos that technically pass bitcoin to have a better value than bitcoin and bitcoin will lose all its value for those other coins? or you mean actually the opposite, bitcoin is the only valuable among the shitcoins?

Would appreciate your feedback as I would regard it as very insightful after your incredibly accurate prediction!

It looks promising. Good luck and I hope you can deliver. I will be watching.

When is mainnet release planned?
How many tps the platform is able to provide? Ant scalability constrains you foresee and plans to overcome (like Ethereum with Plasma)?
How Essentia is different from Rchain or EOS? I like Rchain concept and how the can achieve industrial usable scale blockchain.

Thanks.

Re: [ANN] [ICO] HoloToken (HOT): Holo The Distributed Hosting Platform
by

on 27/02/2018, 20:41:50 UTC
Interesting protect I will be following.

I have few questions:
Holo will b using the ISP network, how does Holo makes sure the ISP does not censure connections through Holo?
What are the incentive mechanisms? I like the project and like me there could be some few other people supporting it but without a clear incentive structure the project will never succeed. I believe bitcoin success is not the decentralization and be your own bank part but the scarcity. It was planned in a way that considers people's "greediness" into it (to hopefully in the end brake the current system from inside). I do not believe projects that are utopias and not based in incentives will work. Also, put in a different way, will the cost of the hardware + electricity + others will pay off (at least for just that part)? How the supply of Holo tokens is planned so that this critical part of the Holo success is met?

Don't misunderstand me, I believe in a decentralized/distributed internet and I look forward to it but without clear/strong inactivation the network will never take off.

Thanks.

Re: [ANN][TAY] Taylor - Smart Crypto Trading Assistant | ICO | Token Sale

I like the project but the use of the tokens: "TAY token holders will be able to use them to pay for the Taylor app services. They may receive a discount for using our token for payment or have access to premium service features"

Very poor tokenomics. Where is the incentive to buy and hold? where is the potential to create a network effect? Tokens have the potential to engage the community ... I have learnt few things about this and I think they should be used. Willy Woo https://twitter.com/woonomic have interesting theories about this

is the airdrop still open ??

It just started today.

Hi TheStuhlman, any chance to get the airdrop for those who open the bitcointalk account some years ago but with not enough activity to get to Sr. member? Thank you!

Interesting project, wish you success, will cooperate if possible and time allows.

Hi all,

Cool project. Getting tired of ICO and looking for something more authentic in the way it is created.

Can date registered in bitcointalk can work besides the Sr. Member? I registered in late 2013. Did not have much activity since I was busy with my studies, then work ( feel like I have missed a lot in this time!)

Good luck and looking forward to contribute. Not with code since I am not a developer but in any other way.

Liking this project but you are trying to sell 30M +15% = 34.5 M tokens for 34.5 MW but only having 2.25 MW up?
Can we atleast have an ETA on how long do you think will it take to get to full capacity?
Wouldn't want to buy tokens and then have to wait 1 year to get them

...and this is also related to my question "For what I see the mining facilities are in high demand. If the amount of tokens is so high that can't be effectively use because the building of mining facilities can't keep pace, what is the yield of those tokes if I can't use them for mine or rent them out? Thanks."

Re: [ANN] Lykke - Semi-decentralized Exchange on the Blockchain
by
talktopab
on 08/05/2017, 09:46:08 UTC
Hello,

I own some Lykke and I am excited about the project. There is a similar project, Melonport (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1763204.0), running on ethereum. I find them very similar and at the end of the day offering similar products. Do you see any difference between the two?

As tempus explained Lykke current focus is a little different to Melonport. As far as I understand Melonport is creating a protocol that can be used to build tools for managing funds and tradeable assets. Kinda like Gnosis would be the base layer of prediction markets from where a company/site like Bet365 could be built on top on.

Lykke does not aim to be only "just an exchange" though, there are many plans for the future, including offering your own company stocks, create custom trading instruments and many other exciting ideas.

You may check out this Lykke Accelerator overview where more info about turn-key services are discussed:

https://www.lykke.com/company/news/lykke_accelerator

Lykke is more like an electric share, so it is impossible to list on main crypto exchanges, but it is on its active exchange, that is awesome.

Thanks for your inputs. There is a new ICO, nothing strange these days, offering a very similar service to Lykke: https://www.bancor.network/ What is your opinion? I think the competition will be huge and perhaps only one-two will survive. I like the fact that Lykke is done over colored coins, this gives it stability. The fact is that Lykke is a private company with very clear lead is also a plus ... or it may be seen as negative depending on who you talk to

Something that could potentially make bancor more competitive would be the immediate addition of all crypto to their exchange portfolio. In this regards Lykke is progressing very slow with only solarcoin listed. And Bancor will also exchange at a 0% (almost) fee
