Re: Issue with Mining Proxy for Pool Connection - "Unauthorized Worker" Error

I would recommend this proxy: https://proxy.vnish.com/

We have had over 40,000 machines connect to it for a large scale mine and it works with any pool! Other proxy software out there is coded quiet badly and have issues once you start going past 10,000 miners. Also you get some nice data from this one!

Do you not understand how bitcoin work. Hash Today is worth More then hash tomorrow. Difficulty rises btc profits drop every day.

I am pretty sure Phill understands how bitcoin works, however, there is no right/wrong way of valuing things, you look at it from BTC perspective, he looks at it from fiat perspective.

In fact, I also prefer looking at everything mining related from a BTC standard, and when I do so, I realise that mining all together is somewhat a terrible business, in the vast majority of cases, the BTC you spend on gears and infrastructure is probably never going to be ROIed, you may ROI on your fiat capital and that is a different thing.

With that said, in the U.S and other places ( probably no other place lol) where the tax law is so complicated, it becomes a different matter than just fiat vs btc.

Yeah we are sadistic that is why we mine instead of buy btc. Pretty much there is only a few situations where mining was the best bet. For example buying S9's right before the run up you ROI'd in like 3 days. That was the god tier time to mine.

why lie about what hash is worth when it is worth more than it was last week. and if btc rallies bigly the epic is the better buy than vnish.

now your arguement made sense up til this price rally in terms of what is the better deal.

i have  your  software
i have brains software
i have mara board and software
i have epic board and software

used all of them for years.

they all can be okay

and some times bitmain software is better for some people.

but to say that hash rate is worth less on the biggest jump this year makes no sense bro.

and yeah i will still use your software at times.

also the vnish control board is a better board than

Do you not understand how bitcoin work. Hash Today is worth More then hash tomorrow. Difficulty rises btc profits drop every day.

Sorry you value everything in Fiat. Doing that will keep you chained to the fiat world!!!!!!!!!

Think about how much BTC you have to sell for FIAT to buy an epic board. Now think about how much BTC the devfee will really make over that same time period. Assume your mining with the miner for 2-3 years aka you can't factor in bull market pricing because the majority of the time you will be mining not during bull market.

but regardless we will sell license cheaper than ePic if needed.

Look how many competitors copied our autotune! The list get longer every year I love it!

Except your mathing wrong hashrate is worth less and less each day. Don't value it to fiat value it in how much btc we earn off it a day. On a 19 series we will never generate enough devfee at this point to cost more than a control board. If you want a control board I can sell you a control board for a quarter of the price ePic board is. we made a universal board 4 years ago when aml came out but then found an exploit so we canned it. We can also sell you firmware with no devfee if you were buying enough at cost cheaper than buying their board.

Also that is not the offical vnish. We are www.vnish.com and www.asic.to

This is not entirely true, at least all the niches from the top of the search results are official distributors:

https://vnish.group
https://vnish.ru
https://vnish.com
https://vnish.us
https://vnish.cn
https://vnish.es
https://vnish-firmware.com

That is not correct the OFFICIAL VNISH WEBSITE IS www.vnish.com

the rest are distributors anyone can register a website

I'm not sure which site is better to download their firmware, but the best devfee was offered to me on these https://vnish.us or https://vnish.group  Roll Eyes

epic controllers are not free but you can do really low with them

https://altairtech.io/product/epic-umc/

Wow looks promising. Do you know how low you can go?

okay the boards work with

all S19
and t21
and s21

When you under clock it allows you to disable any of the 3 boards

it also allows as low as 50mhz freq and 12 volts if you do manual.

you can also go way high like 600 freq and 15 volts
and that are the manual settings

more than that you can autotune from 60th to 300th   on the t21 I have.

the flexibility is huge much more like a gpu from the old days of mining.

You also may find you a board that allows really low settings and another board that allows high settings.

t21 thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5491800.0

Hi. It works for S21 hydro too, or only for S21?
don't know but here is a link to the makers of the board.

https://epicblockchain.io/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/ePIC-UMC-Data-2_29_2024.pdf

https://epicblockchain.io/product/

you can email them and ask:

Still have questions? Send us an email to
info@epicblockchain.io

What is the point of replacing the board? Is it not enough to change the firmware from stock to vnish for example?

the epic is fee free vnish charges a fee.

so if you do 200th on a s21 at 4 cents a th  that is 8 dollars vnish charges 1.8 to 2.8 %

"Our software is distributed free of charge. Please note that custom firmware includes a developer fee (DevFee) - a reward for developers. DevFee depends on the type of equipment and is 1,8%-2,8% of the total hashrate of your miner, which is automatically debited while the device is running.

VNISH OFFICIAL FIRMWARE FOR Antminer S19 T19 L7 S21 ...

vnish-firmware.com
https://vnish-firmware.com › ..."

so 14.4 cents a day to  22.4 cents a day which is 52.56- 81.76 in fees in a year.  so right now if sha 256 sucks bigly it takes 2-3 years to pay off the controller

but if we spike to 8 cents a th vnish is 28.4 cents a day to 44.4 cents a day  which is 103.66 to 162.06 a year and the controller is paid off in 1 to 1.5 years

as earnings go up the epic becomes cheaper compared to using vnish

much like rent vs own a home each had a strong point.

I started in the software / hardware / programming world over 40 years ago. Without being disrespectful to Garzik & ck & Kano the software would have gotten written anyway.

Would it have worked as well as what we have? Who knows could have been better could have been worse.

But thinking that someone would have not written something and then shown it to others and some of them would have tinkered with it? No, something would have been out there.

Seen it 100s of times over the decades.

What is also interesting is what we are seeing with the software guys get very little, the hardware guys make the money.
Happens all the time.

Even in the car world there the same thing happens. There were dozens of people [I am out of that scene so there still may be] writing software for modding / flashing your cars ECU but to get to it you needed special hardware that they showed you how to make. It was a royal pain in the ass to build these things. The commercial hardware people cam along and started selling kits. No software was included you can go download it over there for free / cheap. But the hardware to do it? That was cheap to make and marked up a ton. They made all the money.

Ask the people who work on MAME how much they make vs the people selling the arcade kits......

With apologies to Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson.....mothers don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys programmers......

-Dave

Very true the real people who profit are the hardware guys and those selling physical miners. Also what you said is true regardless the software would have been made same for the whole shitty stratum protocol. May it be braiins version of cgminer written in rust. or luxors version of braiins or cg written in rust. The bitfury openminer written in C or all the other flavors. Hell even ours is written in rust (everything is going that way these days). The fact of the matter is and it's also kind of shitty is we all have to use the cgminer api because all the software written for mining is based off these old standards cgminer standardized. As ck said it's not optimal in anyway as it was litteraly thrown together. Hell there are memory leaks in cg that have never been fixed but I think bitmain fixed them but they didn't even publish the fix lmao!

But here we all are 10 years later still having to suport cgminer api calls because this paved the foundation everything built on.

How to I see the block number? I just see in the Miners status summary that FoundBlocks has a value of 1 (or now it actually has a value of 15!!). Guess the miner itself is reporting wrong?
It's a known issue on Bitmain units that gives you a false report if you want to confirm that you are mining a block better go directly to your ckpool solo mining status it should give you insight if you found a block.

Use this link below
- solo.ckpool.org/users/PasteYourBitcoinAddressHere

Then check if you found a block and I suggest bring your issue from the link that I posted above because they are the only ones who can explain why you didn't receive anything.

They never give false reports. The logs should report the share

⚠️ ATTENTION FIRMWARE USERS ⚠️

Do NOT update stock firmware to the latest version. Bitmain firmware from March 2024 and on restricts installation of third-party firmwares.

A fix is currently in progress. We appreciate your patience and thank you for using our products. Updates will come as they are available 🤝

Seen in the wild so far: T21, S21, S19k Pro, S21 Hyd.

This is why we gave you guys so much trouble for posting our exploit public and getting it patched.

At least it's good that we know you don't have our current one. Good luck with the new exploit it is for sale pm's open.

This was posted in reddit:

Quote from: Miner Maker

I have been saying this for a good while: Efficiency matters.

You know what is not efficient? Pre-sets. Blind manual settings that may work "equally" with an average number of miners can only produce average results. Real autotuning has no shortcuts and only Braiins OS+ does it. Others can't bother to do the whole job, and they lack the capacity to do so anyway.

With proper autotuning, results vary with each miner, because each miner chip yield quality varies. The manufacturer just mixed many low yield with a few high yield chips so the average reaches their "advertised speed". Therefore the "same" (manual) settings will never be efficient across a vast number of miners and this just confirms what others in the industry have verified by themselves.

Furthermore, a blind pre-set doesn't monitor chips and doesn't self adjust in response, something Braiins OS+ does. Which is why, miners running Braiins OS+ last longer. The firmware protects the chips and acts while others just squeeze them until they die.

And yes the industry knows. Many just quietly test and adopt because the results don't lie, especially tests done properly like this one.

Braiins is not joking when it states it has pushed the mining industry, and more is coming...

Well I'm happy you clearly don't know how presets work with tuning if you don't think they constantly check chip health and make changes so that's good to know where the FUD comes from as we have been doing just that for what 4-5 years now lol. Also as far as lasting longer and better performance and "the industry knowing"" I think the people flocking from braiins would argue otherwise.

I don't usually come on here but I was told some misleading stuff and was linked to to this so I wanted to let you know you need to not confused people about what you don't know

I don't know why my post got deleted. Reposting this very strange.

It is already implemented so you are too late for that. If you mean only the block template thing (done by users, not pool), well time will tell. It is just a proposal, after all.

I think you should join the people working with this software reference implementation. Check their github and post your comments there. It will be lucky if they ever read your comments here so you have much bigger chance of being read over there.

Yeah but from my understanding the pool can reject the template and ignore you and still mine the block so what's the pointM some stratumv2 dweeb told me this in telegram and I was dumbfounded

I was not referring to referrals.
ViaBTC was giving (illegal) kickbacks.

Not sure about legality, but when you bring clients to them you can get some % off the clients' hashrate, they will just charge higher fees to the ones you bring. Still happening.

They don't charge higher fees if you refer someone. What are you talking about??? I have referred people to viabtc and let them talk to account reps who get them lower fees. Talking sub 1% fees...
