Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL)

I think anyone who watches their favourite league will say it's the best. Best for me has a lot to do with entertainment as a supporter, and as someone who plays Sunday football. Perhaps for the purist, yes, I can easily understand why you'd go for Spain, Germany, Italy even France. The games are more technical. Their leagues are more open to experimentation (which, only after being recognised do they get brought to England). They breed more world class talents and have scouting systems and youth academies that are very well integrated.

I can also see why England attracts so much excitement. Leicester City two seasons ago ring any bells? Say Spain's domestic league and cups. You basically know who wins them. Because the gulf in skill and ability is too wide between the top and the rest. The same, to an extent, does apply to English teams, but the Big 4 is now the Big 6, and none of them can prevent teams like Leicester suddenly striking out from nowhere.

Amateur players like me also enjoy the physicality of English football, in fact, I feel it has toned down a lot. I loved the fiery games, the crunching tackles, the lung bursting runs.

I guess it depends what style of football you like. the premier league as a whole has a variety of different styles of teams i think largely down to the fact that so many different nationalities of players now play in the premier league. so premier league offers a clash of styles depending on who is playing who for example the very spanish style of a pep guardiola city team up against a gritty tony pulis team gives the viewer and fans a game that many other leagues cant offer so in that sense you could argue the premier league is unique and possibly superior in that sense. but in terms of technical and tactical ability i would lean more towards bundesliga or la liga. i hear the argument that premier league is the best all the time and the same people also say that as a result the england national team should do better...lets be frank the premier league isnt the strength it is due to the english talent currently playing in the league it is largely down to the high level and quantity of more technically gifted foreign players and even more crucially the very best coaches in the world. bringing youth players is proving evermore difficult too and this is another reason why i prefer leagues such as bundesliga and la liga as i personally enjoy discovering for the first time future starts of the game. i remember watching xavi make his debut and recently i watched phil foden warming the bench for manchester city. in bundesliga and la liga phil foden would be playing first team football either for his parent club or on loan to a team in the same league playing regular at the highest level.

Brighton Vs Burnley : the hosts are not doing good recently as collected just 2 points in last 6 league matches the only good thing for the newly promoted team is that they had a good moments before that is why they are not in relegation zone but they are not too far from it with 17 points just three more then Crystal Palace while the visitors have been great this season as they have the same points as Liverpool and Spurs so I expect from them to try and get a positive results as they have a chance to get the 4rth spot for themselves because Tottenham have athe most difficult game that is against City and they propy drop points Liverpool also have though game next round against Arsenal so I think Burnley would like to keep the dream of European football a live so better have bet on Burnley Draw No Bet.

 - under 2.5 goals, my opinion.

Agreed. Everyone seems to be getting too excited about Burnley but they're only really strong at home. I don't think this will be an easy game from them away. I'd personally go go with a draw and under 2.5 goals. I could see there been no goals at all or maybe at the most 1-0 either way or 1-1 but under 2.5 goals is a fairly safe bet. I'd put it in an accumulator with a couple of other sure bets to squeeze some extra value out of it as there wont be much there on just under 2.5 goals I think.

Re: Are you surprise by bitcoin price now?
by
tatu
on 16/12/2017, 08:46:37 UTC
Actually no, bitcoins are created with a limited amount. The more scarce the amount will of course the higher the value, as well as the number of users and miner bitcoin the day progressively increases.
This is what triggers the bitcoin continues to rise, as long as not been depleted of course bitcoin will continue to rise in price although maybe in time will decrease.
But if all the bitcoin is already mined it could be bitcoin value will drop in the heyday. But hopefully not.

True about the limited amount and deflationary nature of bitcoin, but if it was just as simple as that then bitcoin would never fall in value, right? But it does. It all come down to supply and demand and unfortunately bitcoin's value is very psychological and is very prone to the attitudes of fickle people who panic at even the remote possibility of some bad news hence why bitcoin can drop in value quite rapidly so it's not always on the up and up.

Games look easy on paper tonight but some games am certain of winning
Swansea vs Manchester City- Manchester City to win

Liverpool vs West Brom- Liverpool to win

Manchester United vs Bournemouth- Manchester United  to win

Tottenham vs Brighton- Tottenham to win
Then Westham will be facing arsenal which i think will be a tough match as the hammers are pumped after beating Chelsea, my guts tell me the hammers can secure a point tonight as they have the home advantage

I don't think the first three matches you picked will have any problems, but as I mentioned above Arsenal likely will, though I hope I'm wrong because I've backed them in an accumulator. I did back my self up with the west ham draw and even win, though he he. Arsenal are all over the place recently and so are West Ham so it's a completely unpredictable game.

Well I guess I was wrong about Liverpool. Klopp should be doing much better than this, especially against West Brom and at Anfield smh.

My parlay didn't work out either way, Liverpool couldn't put in a single goal and Arsenal were equally toothless. Will I never learn my lesson? Wink

I wouldn't have backed Arsenal away in their current form, but they really shouldn't be having any problems against teams like West Ham even away.

Re: Is religion necessary for humans?

Religion is certainly necessary for some people... for some humans they just need something to believe in or they lose their minds. The phrase "Opium of the people" comes to mind, though religion is certainly not necessary for everyone. If you need something to believe in to help you get through life, then great and you do you, but not everyone needs this. I believe in freedom of religion but religious people certainly shouldn't be preaching or judging others and certainly not forcing their beliefs on people or killing others in the name of it.

Re: Hardware wallets - how do you get forked BTC without knowing your private keys?
by
tatu
on 13/12/2017, 19:43:22 UTC
I had some BTC in a software wallet this year and so when the cash, and then gold, forks took place I was able to just get my private keys from the wallet and thereby access my cash and gold bitcoins.

However, if my BTC were instead in a hardware wallet at the time of the fork, would I have had no way of ever claiming the new forked coins? Because, as I understand it, there is no way to retrieve one's private keys from such devices?

Depends on what hardware wallets you were using. Telling us that info would be helpful. If said wallet doesn't allow you to view your private keys then you will probably have to wait for an update from the device manufacturer but I think Ledger has already done this for bitcoin gold at least if you're using one of their physical wallets.

Re: Money can buy happiness?

on 13/12/2017, 19:40:02 UTC
Of course yes.Money can buy happiness.
All the people will say happiness is something that we cant buy and many more things.but in the current world money is the 1st thing that we all needed to live.there is nothing if we have no enough money.without having money how can we be happy?its impossible.
If we have enough money to spend we can buy anything we want.since we have what we need means we will be happy.that means w have bought happiness by using money.we didn't directly buy happiness.but the reason for happiness is that money.
Thank you.

You've got to be pretty shallow to think money can buy happiness. Can it by you love and respect? No. It can afford you certain comforts in life such as not having to worry about paying the bills and being able to afford nice things which can certainly contribute to a feeling of well being but it certainly can't buy happiness and I think if you had money you might not be saying this.

Just imagine selling your $259,900 house for 43BTC and 2 Months in street.

and after just 2 months sell 43BTC for $498198.

Again buying the previous also you will be in profit of $472298.

would you try this technique.

No. I think you've got to be a pretty reckless gambler to do this, but as I said in another thread I hope it pays off for the people who try it. You get no where in life without taking risks and especially in business but sometimes you can also fall into the greedy trap of trying to get rich quick which can quickly give you a reality check. Personally I always stick to the cliche don't invest what you can't afford to lose and for most of us I'm guessing we can't afford to lose our houses he he.

Re: How can gambling help you with your life?
by
tatu
on 13/12/2017, 19:25:40 UTC
The only way it could help you with your life is if you win money to get yourself out of some financial trouble, but if you gamble to attempt to do this then you're a fool. Gambling should be just done for fun like any other leisure activity. Always set your limits and play with a budget or a bankroll that you don't go over. If you can spend say $100 dollars on alcohol a month or maybe $50 on Cinema tickets then apply the same budgets to gambling and you'll likely not get into trouble. It's when people chase their loses and the high of winning that they end up in trouble. IF you set a budget and bankroll and do it just for fun then you should be fine and it can be a very enjoyable activity.

Actually when we are only playing for fun, we dont need to set up limit because we know that it is for fun so we will be only using a small amount. It is different from those that set their eyes for profit. If they do so then they will most likely try to use higher amount to win. That is helping our life to actually know the limit of what we should and shouldnt do

But most addictions just start out as a bit of fun. The first time you drunk booze or did a line of coke... but if you don't know your limits you can quickly get sucked in and that's when the fun stops and you get addicted.

I am not sure that gambling can help my life, gambling is an entertaiment for me
I do not think that gambling can help to get some the money to be success in the world

There is no way that gambling could help us in our life because all I know is gambling only makes us to lose our money, it is just fooling us that we could win but the real thing is it is just a bait for us to gamble more. Gambling only help us to lose our money, not to earn one.
considering gambling in general considered as something detructive instead constructive , yeah it's mostly affected our lives in bad ways. you can't consider a huge amount of winning from the jackpot as helpful influence. it might work for a while helping your financial condition but once you get addicted to try more and that time you are ready to accept the fact that gambling won't give you anything good in the long run.

I disagree. If you enjoy gambling then it can be good for you. Many people see it as just any other sort of past time activity that costs them money. I think most people can enjoy a drink or a smoke without getting addicted and the same applies to gambling as long as you know your limits and are not doing it to kind of self-medicate or add excitement to your life.

Too ambition to imagine BTC at $100000 in  year.

I'm sure many people said the same thing about 10k this year. I don't think we will see 100k next year, though. I could see it easily being worth 20k+ in 2018, but I can also see the opposite and the bubble bursting after the excitement has died down and it falling to 4-6k again. I hope I'm wrong though. If we keep spreading the word and people keep buying in then  we should be safe as long as we've got the demand to meet the supply.

Re: McDonalds to accept Bitcoin by 2018
by
tatu
on 13/12/2017, 18:09:20 UTC
Well, in 2018 we would see more and more financial institutions retail shops start accepting bitcoin.
That is not a good thing. Bitcoin is meant to be kept in a wallet for a while instead of just being spent.

Lolwtf are you talking about? Bitcoin isn't meant to do any one thing with it and people can do whatever they want with it. If you want to spend it then spend it. If you want to save it then save it, but it's silly and wrong to say that spending bitcoin is 'not a good thing". If people didn't spend their bitcoins at all then there would be none being transacted. There needs to be supply and demand and people both spending and saving for bitcoin to work and be seen as both an investment and a currency, which it is.

It would actually be huge if an industry such as the oil one would accept or start dealing with bitcoin. As the quote in the op said, oil is traded in dollars and it's why America goes to war over oil because not trading in dollars would be devastating to their economy and geo power. In fact, I read that one of the reasons Libya was invaded and Gadaffi ousted was because he was going to start trading oil in his own gold-backed pan African currency he was going to create (though maybe that was just a conspiracy theory but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was true).

Happiness. Pure and simple. Once you're content and comfortable there's not much else you need. You could be the richest man in the world but still unhappy and alone and money alone wont keep you warm or happy at night.

But some people have different priorities or wants and needs:

1) a pile of bitcoins
2) nice car
3) decent house
4) sexy girl
5) no need to go to work

Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use
by
tatu
on 13/12/2017, 17:50:29 UTC
As you can see in the subject, what is your opinion on a recreational use of drugs? So far I've noticed that guys that do drugs like mdma, ecstasy, cocaine, weed(if you consider it a drug, I don't tho) are lowlifes that are in the setting of "Let's get wasted, party and then do some more drugs" and nothing else but they always look at themselves as something higher than the others.

What is your opinion on that and is it the same at your place?

Also...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7rXlbHtcqM
The only drug that is acceptable is weed(I dont treat it as drugs).Majority of the drugs are very addictive and makes people go crazy and high.Weed is relaxing and it has a lot of benefits. It shoukd be legalize all over the world.Cops are ignoring them anyway, they cool with it but if its other drugs, you better run cause they will catch you.Weed is not that addictive. You can live without it actually.Compared to other drugs, weed doesnt have this urges to use.

Why are you of the opinion that the only acceptable drug is weed? And why don't you treat it as a drug when that's exactly what it is? And weed might not be generally considered that addictive but many people do get addicted to it. I agree with all drug decriminalization, though. I don't think it's any right of the government to tel people what they can and can't put in their own body, and that's why I support people's choice to do drugs recreationally just as long as they're not hurting any one else.

Very surprised. I always believed it would hit 10k but not as soon and as fast as it did. I just really hope we dont have a bubble because there will be a lot of smug told you so types. I hope that never happened though and bitcoin keeps on rising or at least stays over 10k.

Yes. I bought it when it was 5500 and in 3-4 weeks it increased to 17000!! Its good instrument to invest. Pity i heard nothing about a few years ago)

I bought into bitcoin in 2014 but I regret not buying more. I guess everyone does now. Sad to miss out on the ltc and eth trains too.

Easily my favorite: GARY OLDMAN.

I also really like Tom Hardy and he even thinks Gary Oldman is the best actor (and they've done several films together). My favorite female actress is Charlize Theron so those are my three favorites I think (and Charlize was in Mad Max with Tom Hardy).

Tottenham finally got the win they needed to get back out there more confident problem is that they are still in 6th spot but only 7points separate them to the 2nd in the league  and with win in their own home against Brighton will hugely boost their morals and fight for a spot in the rest of top 4 spots because with City 18 points ahead no way they can catch them back. With the current form of Brighton there's no doubt that Spurs will have an easy game because the visitors are not doing well lately scoring in just one occasion from their past four also they only managed to score in three games out of seven visits so I think better go with a home win and under 3.5 goals.

I still can't believe Burnley are above Spurs. I wonder if we will see them in the Champions League? I doubt they'll manage to stay in the same spot for long especially with teams like Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs all directly behind them, but it would be great to see them in the CL. Stranger things have happened like Leicester winning the league, though he he. I'm predicting another upset for Arsenal away to West Ham today as they can be tricky team at home now and Arsenal have had some bad form away.

Re: 2017 is crazy for bitcoin
by
tatu
on 13/12/2017, 16:24:12 UTC
2017 has indeed been a crazy year. I'd pretty much forgotten about it... well not forgotten about it but it had been on the backburner of my mind for quite some time as I was busy with other things, but it's been all over the news again recently and I can see why. It's both a very exciting and concerning time for bitcoin as many new users jump on board trying to make some cash I just hope it doesn't turn into a bubble and pop at some point after all the excitment has died down.

Bitcoin has a ceiling of 21 million, which is a fatal flaw. It also decided that it could not be used as a currency, as well as an excellent speculative tool.

That's not a flaw at all. That's one of its many many great features. The fact that there cannot be more than 21 million makes if deflationary and that's why it's better than fiat in theory. Because bitcoin is limited and finite it's what gives it its worth because it's fairly rare like gold, only much better as a currency than gold is.
