Bitcoin is redistributing wealth but it isn't yet changing much with regards to how we make payments. It is still not the best option available.

Everybody can do a fork of Bitcooin, even you and me, this doesn't mean that everybody else should care. Background noise and garbage.

And everyone has every incentive to do so, 2 of the top 10 coins by marketcap are bitcoin forks.

ICO is a way to lure all the fools in search of riches. Most people invest without even reading the whitepaper.

In my own opinion bitcoin in the future will become a large earning industry in the Internet.

What do you mean in the future? Its already a huge industry now.

Re: I Bought ETH -- Yeah, that's right ETHEREUM ...
by
tayrey
on 22/07/2017, 20:57:18 UTC
I once ate some bad fish and got really sick for about 3 days. The fact is I didn't go out and tell anybody about it I didn't keep it a secret but I didn't announce it to the world that I'd made some huge mistake. So why exactly are you on here telling everybody about your huge mistake?

ETHEREUM  can never come near to BITCOIN in terms of price and volume.

It's not likely to pass bitcoin in individual coin price, but I'm confident that it will pass in marketcap. Whether that means anything or not, who knows, but it will generate a lot of mainstream publicity.

I think so too, the ethereum market is also much bigger than just ETH there are so many tokens traded and the combined value of the ethereum network is already more than bitcoins.

Re: How badly will the death of Poloniex affect the scene?

I don't think they will die in one go, it looks like they will experience a slow death instead with people moving more and more funds out of the exchange over time. What this means is the impact is likely to be minimal rather than a situation like gox which more or less went offline overnight.

So buyers of EOS are buying tokens that have no practical value until a year from now, based on the background of the CEO? That is a large leap of faith, and everyone should realize it's purely speculation until further progress is made.

And no way to verify the CEO isn't just lining his own pockets.

Don't panic! If you believe in the project and its vision then why would you want to sell?
Crypto has a fantastic feature even with some price dips!

I agree, and it looks like its going back into bull mode anyway so all the more reason to buy and hodl.

FAKE news

Fake news that they got hacked?

In any case they have promised information from police investigations. Have to see if this happens and if the information is verifiable or not.

For now it is more dominant cash because ATM or bank is everywhere. But if later bitcoin already exist bank and its ATM, maybe people just open handphone and scan barcode to do transaction hahaha  Cheesy Grin Cheesy Grin

In the future, bitcoin doesn't even need atm anymore because all can be controlled via smartphone, bitcoin atm in my country didn't get a good response because android makes everything easy, cash money for the future is virtual, not currently so popular because the world economic system still prioritize fiat, many offline shopping also not using bitcoin.

And there is no guarantee that an internet connection will always be available so cash will always be a necessity until this problem is solved. Maybe via trusted physical bitcoins where the private key is hidden and they are hard to fake.

I've been thinking about the applicability of the token and the growth abilities in terms of x5 or x10. I'm wondering if thats possible.

What do you guys think?

I think 5x is doable by the end of the year. The way how they handled  their ICO was very professional. This company is well organized and well run by a savvy CEO.

Wow is that 5x from current price? Does that mean its a good investment right now?

I just cashed out now most of my coin as the price is back to nearly 2.3K and I will buy the exact amount around 31st when the price fall down. Or maybe a little more coins, but I plan to keep the most of the profit.

I don't think the price will go down, there is less and less chance of a hardfork every day so the pump has already started.

Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold?
by
tayrey
on 20/06/2017, 19:55:35 UTC
Bitcoin is better because it is a currency and not only a store of value like gold. Yes it has more volatility but that is because the marketcap is still low.

As an investment bitcoin also wins because it has so much potential whereas gold is around its limit already.

Re: How did Satoshi Advertise Bitcoin ??
by
tayrey
on 02/06/2017, 16:59:59 UTC
Back in the days when there was Bitcoin and just Satoshi testing it, how did other early adopters of bitcoins came to know about it? Did he advertise about btc somewhere to attract people's attention to this new technology? How did bitcoin users initially rose from zero to millions ?

He asked advice and testers on message boards and eventually bitcointalk sprung up out of that. I think when it really hit off was when mtgox started trading bitcoin, and more when a pizza got traded for 10000 bitcoins.

Some groups and websites started accepting bitcoin at the start, like wikileaks which started accepting bitcoin as donations, there is also the infamous silk road deepweb site that sold all kinds of drugs and started accepting bitcoins. A lot of other criminals and criminal organizations started using it until today, a big part of bitcoin success is definitely thanks to criminals and even terrorists.

I'm pretty sure that was after the bitcoin pizza and after mtgox started up though.

Re: Do you believe in aliens?

I believe there is life in other parts of the universe and I even believe there is intelligent life, but I don't believe in advanced species that have visited earth for the simple reason that statistic dictates if there is life elsewhere it would be so far away that travelling to earth would not be feasible even with technologies we can't even imagine yet (assuming the laws of physics still hold).
