I wonder if "cap doge block rewards" people would be happy if the cap would be set to more than 100 years in the future like in bitcoin, the world will change before that. Actually reaching the cap will significantly drop the hash rate. I don't like PoS (the rich getting richer) but I don't like the race that is which coin can bleed more money to secure good hash rate by PoW. Security has a cost, currently it's covered by block rewards, or inflation, if you wish to word it like that. I feel that it's important for newcomers to have a possibility to earn some coins instead of having to buy their way in.
Much serious, very post, such sorry, now happy, wow!

Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.6 HARDFORK MANDATORY UPDATE
Actually it's mathematically impossible. For infinite DOGEs there are not infinite BTCs to sustain the price.
If only any of us would be alive when BTC inflation stops! Would you consider doge finite if there would be a decision to stop inflation in 1000 years? Are you aware that cryptos are so new that it doesn't matter jack s what happens 10 years from now, let alone 140 when BTC trickle stops?

Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.5.2 Released, please update!
If you have coin A and coin B and their only difference is the scarcity of A, the price of A will be larger in the long run. This means that coin B is not good as an investment & store of value, except for quick profit making.
Bitcoin could be mined for 140 years. It means bitcoin is inflation in your whole life. 5B new doge every year means, it is a very small inflation and the inflation is reducing every year.
Bitcoin = finite Dogecoin = infinite
Bitcoin = scarce Dogecoin = abundant
Finite / scarce = better price than infinite / abundant. It's just the way it goes with supply and demand. Basic economics.
Dogecoin is infinite only if you have infinite lifespan.
Scarcity is a good reason to drive price up only when the item has tangible value. When the value is purely speculative, scarcity (and deflation) will kill the trading and it leads to poor market depth and frequent price crashes. Bitcoin will be dead when it gets fully mined. Doge will keep on marching towards the moon.

Works fine for me! Hashrate seems to be same as with cgminer.

Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE
Both. Or rather, the problem is there's a bug now so that even after 100 billion is reached, the block payout of 10k continues. The dogecoin creators have not decided on how to handle this yet. They may just keep it, as it gives you a 5% inflation or so each year.
if multipool and hashcows are currently mining wdc why are there still the thousands of sell orders dragging doge down?
Somebody needs to pay the bills to keep up the 21 Gh/s of power that doge has.

Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.3 Released MANDATORY UPDATE
I believe in cryptos and there are few which aren´t jsut copycats, but have some special features (POW/POS) and tuned parameters, (namely CGB for all), but there is really nothing special about DOGE, except exploiting hyper retarded internet meme. In the end, when this DOGE madness will crash badly, it will only hurt whole crypto world. And yes - I made nice profit out of it, so no need to hate for missed train
"Made"? So you dumped? You contributed towards crashing? Then you should feel bad about yourself!
Doge breaks the rules of cryptocurrencies. Ultimately it will be the social aspect that proves doge victorious, not some fancy pants technical stuff. Spread doge everywhere and the tech will follow. I, for one, will start using doge in real life, maybe buying mining equipment with it. Forward, you monopoly money of the internet!
It went kind of crazy when the price was like 0.1 btc/doge... I wonder how many deposited to cryptsy as they had 4hours of waiting time...
Don't lie about prices like that. Who in their right mind would pay $100 per doge? I mean people donate thousands of them for nothing. That has to be the dumbest story I ever heard.
If you have proof though I will ROFL out loud because that's hilarious if someone actually did that dumb as nails deal.

Seems like Cruptsy had grossly inflated first offers, whether it was to test their trading or just to bait interest.
