Simple dummy plug:

I learned it from here, myself. Works perfectly.

I forgot to tell that the first resistor is enough. You don't need 3.

that dummy plug works with r290?i mean can i use igpu with r290?

Nope, you have to use real monitor cable and a real monitor. Good is most monitors have more than 1 port, use something hdmi and dvi

If it has a DVI-I connector, you can use the dummy plug.

Teamviewer work on Windows 8.1 ?

Yes, that's what I use

Cool, Thanks for the info, Don't suppose you know if teamviewer hits the gpu at all ? Because I know TightVNC is supposed to not affect it, I don't have integrated graphics so it's not an option.

no, but sometimes when i connect i see the main card drop a few kh, but then creeps back up to its normal rate.

Same here. Not a big deal tho.

First, go to the bios and set integrated to primary. Then you can plug it.

But you'll need a dummy plug to oc, or control the fan.

This is my setup. I use 2 monitors and the 3rd one is set to the lowest resolution. That's one amd card with the dummy plug. I put it there so I won't be accidentally move my mouse there.

Perhaps slightly off topic, but just wanted to check if anyone's come across this...

My main PC (this one I'm reading this forum from) uses Windows 7 SP1, and cgminer 3.7.2 with CGWatcher.  It all works fine, but recently I switched to using Chrome (having used Firefox before), and have now noticed that whenever I maximise (or have it open in a window - not maximised) Chrome, my hash-rate drops significantly.  Normally, it's at around 745 Kh/s, and with Chrome on top, it drops to about 680-700.  Minimise Chrome (or shut it down) and the hash rate goes straight back up, nearly instantly.  It's repeatable, and it's definitely Chrome affecting the hash rate.  I haven't noticed this with Firefox, but the reason I switched to Chrome was my tabs-fetish was getting out of hand (I was using groups in Firefox, and had something like 40-50 tabs open per group and about 5-6 groups, yes, I know, insane  Roll Eyes).  So now I'm trying a tab-diet, and have only about 20 tabs open in Chrome, but it's doing this weird thing.

Has anyone come across anything like this, anyone here specifically uses Chrome and CGWatcher/cgminer, and can perhaps do a quick test?

Weirdly, I googled this, and found a couple of threads on other forums where people were experiencing THE EXACT OPPOSITE issue, in that their hashing rate INCREASED when they had Chrome open, and would drop with it minimised or closed.

 Huh

P.S.  Waffle, you rock. Smiley

If your intensity is high you will see a drop doing anything, If you want to use it while mining drop the intensity.

Or you can use the integrated graphics. I use my work computer that way with 2 amd cards mining on I18 and my system is still snappy. I put a dummy plug to one of the AMD cards because you can't control the cards without it (only stock clocks and fan speed). On win8 it is more of an issue. Win8 won't load the driver if you don't have a monitor (or dummy plug) plugged in.

It has something to do with gpu hw acceleration in chrome or ff. Maybe chrome uses more gpu resources when in fullscreen.

Individual workers are fine for me. They are on the stats page. But not really useful to show them on a same small graph. Needs a better graph with useful guide lines.

Balance is very low for me too. Confirmed and estimated together is 1/5 what is should be.

I have a rather strange request, I'm away from the place I left my rig and I set it all up correctly left it all night running cool, Then I had to go visit my gf family which is 1300km away , I checked the hash rate before I slept at a hotel and it was still running, After I woke hash rate is zero and had been more or less straight after I slept , Then sudden bursts here and there later in the day, Now my guesses are, Electric failed? Already asked and that's not the case because it's a big complex and the owner told me it's working, Internet is down ? She said it's not, And why sudden bursts of hashing ? I don't really trust the owner of the place, I'm pretty sure somebody has broken in and taken my rig , Is there anyway to see the IP address of where it mined last ? Which ISP ?, I have two servers for Wafflepool set up as failover so it should be running.

Anyway here's my btc address all help is very welcome because I'm worried and also gutted to think it might be gone 17irVYRJxWNP8ocYm3zPMYiNKbssd5xfNm

Hope somebody has a suggestion apart from the obvious go back and look  Huh

I don't think if somebody took your rig then turn it on and mine with it...
Most likely a malfunction. System reboots continuously and sometimes got a minute to mine before that. Or a card failing and cgwatcher restarts it. Something like that.
Next time use something like Teamviewer. That's a nice remote app that needs no port forwarding, only a few clicks to run. I even use it from my Android phone.

Still getting the 'Worker is temporarily Banned' thing, how to solve this?
I just shutdown CGminer and restarted the program and now I'm back getting "Accepted"s

Why don't you use cgwatcher. If you use windows you can use it. It has many cool features to maintain constant mining.
I really love it. I use 10 older 5xxx series cards usually 2 in a pc. Some of them are stable, some of them needs a kick sometimes. That's what cgwatcher is for.

Waffle pool stats are bullshit  Undecided

Make your own then, like me. Nothing fancy just an excel table. After every payout I write the data in my table. It calculates the BTC/MH/day value for my real hash rate and draws a nice graph too.

I don't know what some ppl are talking about. My calculation shows that between my last payment from yesterday to today my BTC/MH/day was 0.0098. That's good.

Really liking the rolling payout system.. thanks PW!
hmm... my recent payout was more than 25 hours ago.... and I'm not happy at all  Sad

Don't worry, my last payment was after 45 hours. If I receive it I don't care if it's 1 or 2 days.

Over 100% everything is a bonus. Enjoy it while I can.

If you calculate resell price to ROI it is lot quicker, that's true. But before you have the money in your wallet, you better calculate with everything you spent.

My friend built a 3 card rig that capable of 4,5MH. It was around $4000. Those 7990s won't be very popular if GPU mining goes boom. That's a really nice rig but he needs to reach $4000 to make profits. Of course if he sell them he get back some of the money, but he needs them if he wants to make money. That's why I call them bonus.

Not to mention that rig has a lot of problems... PSUs can't keep up and die, cables fry, etc...

Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com

That's not necessarily true. My takings are already at 81% of my expense, and I'm only doing it for 6 weeks. I gradually built up my rigs so average is like 50% for the 6 weeks and still I'm at 81%. It could be 100% allready if not for mtgox...
So resell does not matter for me. If I don't need them anymore then I sell them at a price they buy it. It's a bonus.

I'm using mostly used 5850s. They are around $100 and can do 350-400KH depending on the OC they allow. Used PSUs and used old Asus P5B and P5K motherboards with the cheapest CPU I can find. At least 1,5GB of RAM needed too. A rig with 700-750KH costs around $300. Electricity is free for me.

Thanks for the quick reply, here you go config for the one that does that the most:

cgminer.exe --scrypt  -o stratum+tcp://eu.wafflepool.com:3333 -u 1Y9My747MgN9jVovucztEKSgLengPrsm6 -p d=512 -o stratum+tcp://useast.wafflepool.com:3333 -u 1Y9My747MgN9jVovucztEKSgLengPrsm6 -p x -I 19 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 24000  --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 --shaders 2048

I don't see a "--failover-only" setting in there, can you check while its running that failover is enabled (and that it has 2 pools in settings)?

Yes, if I go the cgminer settings the pool strategy is set to "failover only". That miner has only 1 backup set, others have usually 2 backups, but the behaviour is the same ( most configs are pretty same as use mainly 270s) - connection interrupted, xxx shares lost and not failover

 Huh

A.

Why don't you use cgwatcher? It is working fine for me. It have a lot of settings in it to maintain constant mining.

Please be patient with us with payouts, few of the exchanges have been having some issues so we still have a decent amount of un-traded rounds left. You will continue to see BTC trickle in days after mining.

OK. Thank you.

I'm running my smaller miners (about 0.9MH) on HC for two days now to test it out. Are there partial refunds?
After 39 hours I only got 0.0054 BTC. That's really bad. It should be around at least 0.015BTC.

Any toughts on that?
