Hello Community,

I was checking out Exodus.io and wanted to use it, and had a cold storage litecoin wallet that I wanted to import my private key to Exodus.   There's a option to do so called "move funds" and when I click on that it says, Private Key (WIF)?  Paste Litecoin Private Key in (WIF) Format.

I type in my private key that was on my wallet and I get a Invalid error.  It's because I don't have my Private Key in (WIF) Format, but I don't know how to do it.  I've searched online on how to do so, but just see info on bitcoin WIF and that has Sha-256 where litecoin doesn't so that wouldn't work for LTC.

If anyone could give me instructions on how to get my key to be converted to WIF, I would greatly appreciate it.  This is the first time I've ran across this issue, but then again I'm not super up to date on all the cryptocurrency info and tips.    Thanks again everyone.

Something like https://liteaddress.org/ might help.

Thanks, yes I was checking that out too, but just wondering there's a section where I could enter my key and i think it will provide me with a WIF of it.  Hopefully this will work and I don't have to jump some more hoops.   First time getting a private key from a cold storage wallet, so this experience is fairly new to me, the whole importing private keys from cold storage stuff.  Smiley

Hello LA3M Miners and such!

I was one of handful that got on the first shipment of the LA3M's from Jack, and was following this thread everyday trying to get the latest and greatest news about the miners, but have been gone for a bit since then.

The last thing everyone was talking about was the Firmware update for the LA3M's that boosted the KH for the LA3M's.    My question to you all is did that finally come out yet, and if it did when did it come out and where can I download it?

It seems this thread is bigger than a rubber band ball now and if any of you have been still following this thread since day one, or just know the questions i'm trying to answer, any help is greatly appreciated and thanks everyone!   Grin

Excellent tutorial hands down great work!

I'll have to donate for making such a good tutorial.

One thing though...    You say to throw away those PSU's that come with it and get a modular PSU capable of 600+ watts

Could you please explain how to hook this all up?     I know you posted what cords to get as well, but I couldn't tell how you hooked it all up with the picture provided.   any help is appreciated and again great tutorial!

Finally got to the dashboard and put in all the required info, but none of the miners start up they all say offline.     Undecided

I also see that when I add the workernames that I made (seperated with commas) and I hit the submit and restart button, I don't see the workers names show up next to the LTC Miner names  for example LTC Miner 1:24 (workername not listed here)  only says LTC Miner 1:24

I tried different mining pools to, with no luck and seen some people talking about turning something off and on, but they don't describe what exactly to turn off and on.    Is there anything else I need to unplug and plug back in as well?    any help is greatly appreciated! Smiley

Have you put a pool in the SHA-256 pool? Even if you're not going to dual mine and have it disabled you need to have a pool entered. Just enter anything.

Yes I just copied the scrypt pool into into the sha-256 pool fields and have enabled for sha-256 unchecked.    it just says offline for the miner :/

PLEASE HELP!

after 2 days of troubleshooting this I'm finally at the dashboard and see all my 10 miners but they are all OFFLINE and I can't get them to hash at all.  Huh  I have setup the scrypt pool and filled in stuff on the SHA-256 as well and left the enabled button unchecked (I just want to mine scrypt anyway)

I tried doing the steps from worldlybedouin listed below with no luck as well...

1. Unplug power cable from TP-Link controller
2. Turn off the USB hub switch (or unplug the hub from the controller)
3. Remove all the USB cables from the hub except 1 of them
4. Plug in the TP-Links power cable
5. Allow the controller to start up and "settle" a bit (~2mins or so)
6. Make sure the controller dashboard shows no devices connected and says something about connecting a USB hub
7. Flip the power switch on the USB hub so now the 1 miner is connected to the controller
8. REfresh the Dashboard to see the 1 miner show up
9. Wait to let that 1 miner start hashing away
10. Next, plug in the remaining miners 1 by 1...about 1 min apart from each other

I would stop following that guide at step 4 and just plug in all of the miners at once. Also, turn everything off when you want to reset your miners. You can wait about ten seconds for the blue light to stop blinking and then turn on the USB hub. Now see what you have. What pool are you using? I know wafflepool will work with these miners, so use that one for testing purposes. Make sure to put a real BTC mining pool info into the BTC field (do not enable). It may take 1-2 minutes for the miners to turn from offline to online (close the browser window and open a new one with your TPlink ip address). Try switching the frequency to 750 if they do not change to online in 5 minutes.

Next you can try turning the frequency down to 600 and turning the usb hub off and on. If this does not work, double check that the connections are tight and try to identify which miner is not running (does not flash like the others). Then switch it to a different power cable and USB cable to see if the problems moves with it.

Much appreciated for the tips! I actually got it hashing finally, after refreshing and changing pools.   I tried plugging them all in at once but they were all offline still, but got them to work after doing it one by one.  For the sha-256 pool info I just put some other scrypt pool in there and it seemed to work.   You think it would work better if has real BTC mining pool info entered in?

Also you said to turn everything off when I want to reset the miners, can you tell me how I go about doing that please?

I got to Step 9 where it says to wait to let that 1 miner start hashing away for about 5 minutes before I pressed the submit and restart button and nothing still happens.

Here is a picture of the system log..

I ALSO noticed that when I add the worker name and try and hit submit and restart the worker name doesn't add next to the LTC Miner name.   For instance I have 1 miner plugged and the name says LTC Miner 1:3;  if I put down "laminer.1" as my worker name and hit submit and restart, it won't show up in ( ) next to LTC Miner 1:3 like it should be like LTC Miner 1:3 (laminer.1)

When I enabled the SHA-256 box and put in a worker name for it and hit submit and restart, that actually showed up in ( ) next to the name, for instance BTC miner (laminer.1) and it says it was RUNNING!   but not the LTC Miner :/

Any help would be very deeply appreciated as I don't know what else to do, Please help Lightning Asic community!  Your my only hope!

UPDATE:  I think i made some progress.  you have to keep unchecking the enable button and re-enable on both scrypt and sha-256 and I FINALLY got a running status now for the miner I have hooked up now.   Now to get it to start hashing and hopefully it will and I can finally get this setup and then I can pay it forward and help other people out.  Smiley     I'm afraid to even refresh the dashboard, because last time i did the miner went back offline and the worker name wasn't associated with the miner anymore.    I don't see it hashing yet but heard it takes a bit to warm up so hopefully that is it.

Goin to pass out now since it's 5am, but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know and thanks for helping. Smiley

Here's how far I'm at right now I just can't get it to hash yet and if I refresh the dashboard or come back to it the miner is back offline.

I looked in the dhcp table and have use router as dhcp server checked and only have a starting and ending IP address from 192.168.1.2  to 192.168.1.254 is the only addresses are in there right now.

Narrow the range from .2 to .10 (not .254). power cycle the controller. Then check all addresses from .2 to .10.

Thanks for the tip btw.   I finally solved the issue though!   The cause was a old arse version of router firmware.   After I upgraded the firmware, it had a whole option for attached devices and I seen the right IP and could log on fine from there!

Now on to the next question!

Those of you who have the "GOLD" edition Lightning Asic's (i'm sure that's what most of us all got)  how did you go about updating the firmware on these?   I seen on the tutorial there is a white switch but there isn't one on the "gold" edition ones.   I seen the "update firmware" on the dashboard and clicked it and seen you can upload a file, so I went and grabbed the Uart_miner_FW_Ver01140116_20140116.bin file that was included in the Firmware upgrade guide and hit upload but I got an error saying it was invalid.

Can anyone please explain how to upgrade the miner firmware if you can on the "GOLD" edition LA3M's?     I saw in the thread that we are supposed to get some new firmware soon, but not sure if that is for the miner or controller.

If you can understand it, there is some firmware info. But no instructions and probably not the good news you hoped for.

Thanks Xell.   Yeh I'm still trying to find if the "gold" edition miners have the latest firmware on them.  Can anyone confirm this please?

That thread is talking about the controller firmware, not the miner firmware.

Thanks for clearing that up btw  Smiley

Having trouble finding the IP address to get to the dashboard.   I hooked up everything like the diagram in the PDF, and go to wiibox.net to do a scan and it doesn't come up with a IP address for me.    I also looked on my router settings and don't see a new IP address added or anything so I'm not sure how to obtain the ip addy so I can finally get to the dashboard.

I've searched all the threads related with lightning asic and no one has really posted a tutorial on how to get the Wiibox and Ip settings setup to get to the dashboard.

I'm stuck on what looks like one of the last steps;  can anyone please help out?   I'm sure this information will be used again and again, because people are in the same situation as me.    Thanks for anyone that can help it's greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure I had this issue. I just plugged it into my router and looked at my router and it showed up, so i used the ip address. What is your setup like? I dont think you set it up wrong, but send a pic.

thanks for helping bearsworth, I'll try and unplug and plug the ethernet into another port perhaps and double check the connection, and I'll provide a picture of the setup as soon as I can.   Smiley

UPDATE: SUCCESS!   I had to update the firmware on the router, it had a super old ancient version on there and wouldn't even show the attached devices on the router.

Now to figure out how to upgrade the firmware on the "gold edition" miners Smiley

Look at the dhcp table in your router.

I also added a manual IP address and tried to do it like that but that didn't work.

I also needed some help on steps after you get it all hooked up (without using a computer ,scenario 2)

after you.... connect the miners with usb & power supply
                  connected the usb-hub with controller
connect the controller with the usb power supply

what do you do then?     I seen you go to wiibox.net    but I also seen you need to find your mac address dhcp as well?  (I seen screenshots of people going to browser and imputing a IP addy but now sure where you find it.     Any steps after running wiibox.net would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley
