I laugh my socks of at all the would be central bankers here, a whole squad of timmy's and benny's in waiting.
Early day adoption of Bitcoin has proved to be painfully volatile and may be for some time yet. This is a child concept struggling to learn to breath in and out regularly. Miners will stop mining people stop buying and these swings will recur to a large degree in the growth of this child concept of bitcoin. Is bitcoin going to die... NO ..but yes it may grow much slower than many imagine...

The only day i will walk away is when you start central planning..

thiago you are 100% right the success of linux(now android and the many other linux ofshoots) and bit torrent are all entirely due to the power of the open source concept. this why we trust it we don't want bitcoin to become dll(microsoft) city of closed and locked boxes. Lack of transparency weakens all technology and also creates distrust... The transparency of open source is entirely what has and always will ensure the bitcoin's success...

Bitcoin and Financial planing(making wills etc)
by

I have not done extensive searches on this subject in the forum and if it has already been covered I would appreciate being pointed in  the right direction. Since investigating and getting bitcoins i really studied the security issues and by using combinations of different approaches read in different places i am confidant my bitcoins are safer than money in a bank...(not counting for a price drop of course)...

Having got my head round muchof this i thought there are surely clever way 's we could implement a will ie how would i ensure that john , mary  and pat all received one hundred bitcoins a week after my death...

ie what about the details and security ... how to set up secure timed release emails etc would it be possible without having to trust an intermediary...

i hope some of the guru's on here will put their thinking caps on ...

thanks

Bitcon is the most honest and transparent Ponzi scheme ever....
i am bullish bitcoin and silver and am prepared to play a long long game on both.. no contradictions here at all....
It is not an either or situation they will both play out at different rates ... gold ,silver and bitcoins my definition of a balanced portfolio ... oh and throw in a few miners....

It's written in blood this time I'm afraid guys...

As soon as the media gets a hold of this story, that's pretty much the end of BTC as anything but a backwater fringe item of TOR connoisseurs and trivial web-developers, hosts, and hippy products.

So, just like it was before the hacks, except with pretty much zero potential for any legitimacy at this point.

And legitimacy was really the only thing that mattered.

No more.

Was a fun couple of weeks guys.
100% pure drama queen

FOFOA is an interesting commentator .... i read his take on silver vs gold  and then read the people that ripped it apart. His patter lends the credence of being knowledgeable in some areas which hides the real lack of strength in his arguments .... Yes  bitcoin is winning when FOFOA  takes time to wax lyrical on it's short comings.. just like physical silver is winning...

hi today i have studied the code and spent a week analysing data and protected insider information from all the major exchanges ... i can reliably and exclusively inform you that the value of bitcoin will either rise or fall today and will consequently proceed to either rise or fall in the near future.

Disclaimer .. investments may lose or gain value and always should be a part of a balanced portfolio .

for me this is about open source... i started using linux bout 8 year ago, i have resurrected machines without hard drives and converted about 6 of my friends.. it never ceases to amaze me. The concept of complete transparancy is an amazing one anyone and their dog can suggest an improvement or a tweak to any line of code at any level. Nothing is hidden... This must scare bankers sh*tless.... To me bitcoin has got to be worth a punt at the very least so get a few bob you can afford to lose and buy bitcoins... i believe in transparency it equates to honesty and integrity and strength.. that is why i will not flinch... bring it back down to pennies i will still be in.....

hi all... i am no troll but seriously suspect the admins are trying to mimic real world banking elitism by placing so many hurdles in the way of leaving simple comments and making contributions .. i am asking repeatedly how to deregister from this site. i would never have joined if i realised they were this bad.. Please just allow me to deregister and make that function available to all who would rather leave....

thanks
