Tried that but the breakers are a locked panel at one end of the building. He rents to methheads that show up on bicycles and take 5x10s or 10x10s and set up camp in them so he shuts off the entire building. Mine is the only 20X30 in the whole complex. The rent WAS reasonable but rapidly rising. Unfortunately the next step up in square footage would necessitate going back into business to just support it and not have any time for my own projects. "Sides....I'm 65 and not willing to go into a start up anymore. Not complaining  Trying to stay busy retired but not a slave.

The more I read your posts, about your issues, it raises a question in my mind. Have you considered Colocation??? I understand
that it's not as "hands on", but you've definitely got more than a handful going on in your situation. Realistically, if you had none
of your setbacks, you'd just be monitoring equipment, and that can be done while using Colocation. Plus, no Meth-heads!!! Bonus!!!

Haven't explored that avenue yet but I strongly suspect it may not be cost efficient without some higher end mining machines? I may just try listing the lot of them as a package (or singly) to amateurs such as myself and see if I can finance stepping up to something a bit more efficient.

Yes, you'd need s9's or 821/841's...S3's don't cut it in colcation.  It may end up costing a little bit more, but peace of mind and not blowing up plugs at your place is a price to be paying for.

Been looking for reasonable colocation for a long time and haven't found any. Feel free to make suggestions.

Epic Sunday afternoon conversation, but...

We need more blocks!

MINE ON!!!

Edit: The most surprising info was that the ckpool is now 150PH! Wow... Wasn't it just 10x less?! Weird.

All from Halong miners, one miner is 50+PH    I have a friend's couple of miners on there to make a comparison, so I'm keeping an eye on it.

But for now, it's time to MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!

Yeah, the math doesn't add up. The total of the top 100 miners barely approaches 60PH so I can't see how the remainder could add up to another 90PH or so.

I see it listed as around 85PH elsewhere which would be a lot closer to the stats on the site.

Have had a ticket open for 150 days regarding their BS verification process with zero response. Had hopes the Circle acquisition might help but it hasn’t made any difference.

Real assholes for locking all these accounts on a Sunday over a holiday weekend.

Sheesh, fans set for 100% all the time in the 821 firmware... Anyone played with setting it back to something reasonable like 50% or 20, like I ran the 741's and let the temp circuit moderate the fan speed as needed to keep 90 degrees on the outlet?  I guess I'll see what outlet temps I've got first, but my basement this time of year is pretty dang cold, and I'd just as soon trade off some noise if appropriate.
What's your 'minimum fan speed' setting in the Cgminer configuration?
I'm guessing it is 100.
Set it to 20 and see how the miner acts in your environment.
Note that 20 is only the minimum value and miner will control the fan speed up or down in relation with the miner temperature.

yes, by default the firmware has 100% in that min fan speed and I suspect I know why, the internal temp that they attempt to keep the outlet at is 70 and to do so, it appears to take 100% fan typically.

You can put something like:

--avalon8-fan 1-80 --avalon8-temp 90

in the 'More Options' box if you want to change the target temperature and fan speeds. Haven't played around with it too much but 80% fan speed still kept mine at a reasonable temperature so far. The difference between 80% and 100% fan was only a couple degrees after a few minutes.

Hi.. Kano... Seems very nice with your price...
But not every country can accept delivery from israel such in my country in indonesia.
How to solve this? Because you say it's delivered direct from sp. Tq
Eh?

The servers are all over the world, but I don't deliver them to people Smiley
Though ... nothing in Israel.

Sounds like he is saying that he cannot receive stuff from Israel because he lives in the crazy country of Indonesia.

I am not sure why he is worried about Israel though, must be a Muslim thing.

Tq, Bitcoin is International.
Hmm maybe confusion about the .is in kano.is Tongue
.is is Iceland

Probably referring to ancient history - the Spondoolies giveaway.

Just got notification that my two new avalon miners should arrive Monday. But my hosting place just informed me that they are full. Does anyone know of any reliable hosting with available space, preferably here in the US. PM me so as to not tie up the thread.

I asked the same question a couple weeks ago and didn't get any responses.

Looking to bump up my hashrate here with some new miners. Anyone know of any hosting providers that have any available space? The one I'm currently using is out of power for more miners.

For anyone looking for a good time to consolidate their coins, now would be the time. Actually the last few days were better but its still possible to get larger, low fee transactions through. The mempool is still low but looks like its starting to rise again.

Re: Poloniex tradingApi, from JAVA
by
tf315
on 13/09/2016, 00:58:48 UTC
I also tried to connect to the Poloniex API with Java. I followed some advice from this thread and came up with the following code, but for some reason, I always get the error: Invalid command

Any idea what I am doing wrong? Huh

Code:
public static String POLONIEX_SECRET_KEY = "my secret"; //KEY
public static String POLONIEX_API_KEY = "my key"; // TODO API KEY

public static void main(String[] args) {

    try {
        accessPoloniex();
    } catch (IOException e) {
        // TODO Auto-generated catch block
        e.printStackTrace();
    }

}
public static final long generateNonce(){

    Date d = new Date();
    return d.getTime();
}

public static final void accessPoloniex() throws IOException{

    String nonce = new BigDecimal(Polo2.generateNonce()).toString();

    String connectionString = "https://poloniex.com/tradingApi";

    String queryArgs = "command=returnBalances";

    String hmac512 = hmac512Digest(queryArgs, POLONIEX_SECRET_KEY);

    // Produce the output
    ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    Writer writer = new OutputStreamWriter(out, "UTF-8");
    writer.append(queryArgs);

    CloseableHttpClient httpClient = HttpClients.createDefault();
    HttpPost post = new HttpPost(connectionString);

    post.setHeader("Key", POLONIEX_API_KEY);
    post.setHeader("Sign", hmac512);

    post.setEntity(new ByteArrayEntity(out.toByteArray()));
    List params = new ArrayList<>();
    params.add(new BasicNameValuePair("nonce", nonce));

    CloseableHttpResponse response = null;
    Scanner in = null;
    try
    {
        post.setEntity(new UrlEncodedFormEntity(params));
        response = httpClient.execute(post);
        // System.out.println(response.getStatusLine());
        HttpEntity entity = response.getEntity();
        in = new Scanner(entity.getContent());
        while (in.hasNext())
        {
            System.out.println(in.next());

        }
        EntityUtils.consume(entity);
    } finally
    {
        in.close();
        response.close();
    }

}

public static String hmac512Digest(String msg, String keyString) {

    Mac shaMac;
    try {
        shaMac = Mac.getInstance("HmacSHA512");
        SecretKeySpec  keySpec = new SecretKeySpec(keyString.getBytes(), "HmacSHA512");

        shaMac.init(keySpec);
        final byte[] macData = shaMac.doFinal(msg.getBytes());
        return Hex.encodeHexString(macData); //again with try/catch for InvalidKeyException

    } catch (Exception e1) {
        // TODO Auto-generated catch block
        e1.printStackTrace();
    }
    return null;
}

I haven't tried your code but two things that work in my code:

- nonce is part of the query string
- I use System.currentTimeMillis() to create the nonce. Not sure if your way will work or not but I know mine does and its much simpler.

CK's proxy won't work on a PI. I tried it a while ago. Had to put it on one of my Centos machines instead.

ITs been awhile maybe I should see if will work on the new ones. Last I heard the 64 bit support on PI was not complete so it won't compile.

Can anyone point me to a link to 'splain to my addled senior brain how to setup an SD card for the RPi2 (Avalon6) using Ubuntu? Everything I find is pointed to Winbloze.

Thank you... Kiss

Wow...quick. Thank you again. Shows ya how old I am...I'm quite aware of RPi, it's etiology, etc. but just never had occasion to do anything with one. Also dunno why I didn't come across the .org site in searches...more French press (or PepsiMax), I guess.

That should do it. Mine on!  Cool

I was out and working on my phone or I would have put more detail for you. From your past posts I figured that would be enough for you to know what to do anyways Smiley

Thats the main site for the foundation so lots of documentation on there.

Why is there a big line on the shift graph ?  Do we lose our 5nd or is there just a weird big line on the shift graph?

If you look at the shifts page (not the shift graph page) you see some very short shifts around 16:42. Depending on when your shares were returned it can calculate some crazy hashrates. One of those 0 second shifts has a hashrate 10x my real hashrate so there is a big spike on the graph page where that shift is for me.

Thats probably what you're seeing on your graph for your hashrate.

That is under the .0001 payout threshold...

I have dust laying around as well (from the 5N buildup) -- not sure when or if Kano sweeps the dust...

I'm sure it is accounted for properly however...
