I couldn't find a thread on the upcoming Status ICO so I thought I would start one.
Any thoughts on Status token ICO? From the whitepaper - "It's an open source messaging platform and mobile browser to interact with decentralized applications that run on the Ethereum network."
I like the idea of using a WeChat style app for connecting all the users with the whole Ethereum ecosystem and DApps. It also has a good team/community behind it. On the other hand, I see some potential issues:
Adoption - With users having to buy and hold tokens (admittedly not a large amount but still) in order to receive push notifications, this might dissuade a large number of casual users to join.
Established competitors - What's stoping another well established messaging app like Kik to adopt blockchain technology and offer access to Ethereum services themselves, while also having the support of their massive userbase?
A few thoughts to play around with...
A) What problem do you think this dapp solves?
B) Who are it's competitors
C) Do you think the value with rise after this ICO, if so how much?
D) Will you be investing?

The team has grown up quite fast with weekly update, 55+ people already and a dozen more soon. Don't see any reason to die. Sorry.
DADI team seems to be very well in advertising. I've just seen few ads for the ICO while surfing on chrome.

We are seeing many new ICOs coming to NEO platform so it is going to be very good in 2018.
QTUM is great too so buy that as well.

QTUM is also a nice blockchain itself. But NEO has the advantage of Chinese market and lots of ICO will be created on NEO system as you already know. This can cause NEO to reach $200 level next year, who knows.
This one aged very well. NEO could be reached this price this month.

With ICO, you only need to be right once. One good ICO is pretty enough.

Dragonchain is nearly 100x from ICO price already. In my opinion, 100x more is very difficult.

Agreed that Bee token and Nucleus Vision are the winners, so far. There are much interest in them.
Dadi on the other hand is a very good candidate from the start, but the scandal with copying whitepaper from SONM takes so much integrity from them.

Should have been believed in ICO back then 2017. At the end of the year, after the fail of Spheris ICO, I've decided not to attend any more ICO since it maybe just too much.
I sent back my ETH to exchange, and not attend Dragonchain.
One of my biggest mistake so far.
There are many good ICOs going on. Just need to focus, and find the good one among many total bullshit.

It keeps make me regretting any tokens that I had sold. 
As it not bad enough, I moved all my fund out of Kucoin, then after the price recover, I am not able to buy back. FML.
Is there any other exchanges that the token to be listed after Houbi?

A colleague suggested to pay attention to this token. Looked at the website, on that note, this is a serious partners of the project. Not even clear why still such a low price? And why trade is conducted only on the exchange of Liqui?? What is the downside of advertising or error management of the company

SNT was listed on Bittrex from beginning. The price is x12 ICO price. Many more.

No one can say that for sure. But one thing we can sure is it has a great dev team with very big budget to develop the product then marketing it.
For long term hodler, that's all we need.

No Working Core wallet (always sync problems)
No Working Electrum wallet (always unverified problem)
Is there anything that works on Vertcoin? Devs dont care about community
