A while ago it was mentioned we would have the ability to choose which coins we wanted to mine for scrypt.  Is this still in the works or has it fallen to the waysite now that btc is in the spotlight?

I would also like to be able to choose to exclude a coin from the multiport.  Don't have any idea how feasible it is, though.

It is impossible the way things are currently architected.

I'd have to create individual multiports for each user.  It's a feature I have considered adding in the past, but have not had time to fully investigate what it would take or decide on a design.

In other news, I am reconsidering adding per-coin autoexchange to BTC, and doing it a bit differently than the other pools.  Stay tuned.

Just some food for thought, maybe you could create ports for combinations of coins like this:

comb. #1  Top 5 (by value)         LTC, NVC, FTC, MNC, CGB
comb. #2  Top 8 (by value)         LTC, NVC, FTC, MNC, CGB, MEC, WDC, DGC
comb. #3  Middle 6 (by value)     FTC, MNC, CGB, MEC, WDC, DGC
comb. #4  bottom 7 (by value)     MEC, WDC, DGC, LKY, ARG, PXC, CAP

I'm thinking some users might not be interested in coins with micro values, and others might not be interested in mining coins with really long block times.

Thanks.

The pool is not getting any blocks in MEC, when it is the active multiport coin, block times should be about 2 mins and nothing is coming up. Maybe it should be disabled from the multiport until it is straighten out.

flound1129,

When you post here that there is a problem with a coin and you are working on it, could you also add an update to the 'news' on your website home page?

I look there first before I come to this thread and start reading backwards through the posts, trying to figure out if there is an issue and you are aware of it.

Thank you!

Also, I do think something gets skewed with DGC profitability when there are multiple blocks per minute.  I certainly do not think it is a situation of  you taking advantage of the pool.  I see I am earning a fair share of each block and when I look at how many blocks the pool is getting I think the reality of earnings is less than expected compared to 'profitability' calculated from hash rate and difficulty.  Rather than come here to accuse you of something when DGC is getting the resources of the multi-port I prefer to switch my miners to a direct port on an alternate coin.

tl,dr; When the difficulty of DGC is really low it is a disappointment to mine via the multi-port and I try to avoid it when I can.

Finally thanks for putting your time into running the pool and dealing with all the BS associated in this endeavor!

EDIT: I think It has been fixed!
pools seem to be situation normal.

I think all of the pools are wacked out now. I can't get credit for valid shares now in mnc, wdc cgb ports 7777, 3342, 3336, 3339.

My valid shares are locked in wdc and cgb, I get credit for wdc as blocks are found and not in cbg even though I have per-block-estimate.

Mining in mnc I get no credit for valid blocks either, and I found a block #167,548 and got no credit for it either, all my shares were 'rejected' even though I found the block.

Sorry, I checked my system and did a fresh boot but I think it is the pools that are misbehaving.

Thoughts on ASIC proliferation and Bitcoin Economics

My gut feeling is that the proliferation of ASIC rigs will put downward pressure on the price of BTC, and that the price of BTC is artifically inflated by people hoarding them and the difficulty of getting fiat money into markets.

Perhaps it would be best for Bitcoin and would increase their utility if the price fell to $10 or $20 but with less fluctuation, and at some point  the sum of the tx fees in a block will be greater than the new coins generated.

What are your thoughts and does anyone have an economic analogy to explain what you think will happen with bitcoins and mining?

First Post!!   and thanks for your time.
