Satoshi's real name is Santa Claus. He knows who's been naughty and nice. If you've been naughty he hides your wallet passphrase or throws the hard drive you have your wallet on into the local city landfill dump.

Re: Could you please recommend your fave NFT games aside from AXIE?

wanakafarm
moonie nft

nft's are so hot right now i really can't cath up with it . Everyday new things coming and new projects are coming so fast but im really hopefull about theese two .

The problem I see with NFT games are twofold.

First, it's a game - and games have several issues. The popularity curve of a game is usually short - unless it's highly compelling - and usually measured in timeframes of less than a year or two. The other aspect is FOMO which also has a relatively short life cycle. People have short attention spans and are fickle. To maintain popularity and constant engagement will be a challenge for any game - NFT based or not.

Second, and tied-in with the first point is either the cost of entry, as some NFT games like WanakaFarm are initially "pay to play", or the value of the NFTs within the game to hold their value over time. In both scenarios if the game becomes tired or unpopular the investment people made to play or held in the NFT's they earned or bought would diminish - just like any crypto project really.

Although I think the concept of wrapping a game around an NFT centred blockchain is interesting, I actually think it's a risky venture for anyone choosing to invest hard earned cash to either "pay to play" or to buy in-game NFT assets. Sure there will be a huge upswing when it's popular and when FOMO strikes, but the crash will be hard when people get bored.

So a lot has happened with VitaKings Coin in the past week:

The web site is now live. Consider it MVP, as components and products are being added to it every day since launch. The key point is, it's live, and you can now buy real-world products with fiat or crypto. So a key deliverable has been completed.

They have also been listed on https://mnpostree.com shared masternode service today.

So progress is being made and the roadmap commitments are being met and delivered progressively.

There should at least be a feature to sort the results by date and it shows only the <N> most recent or oldest results.
There is a feature to sort the results by date when using the forum search option;
https://i.imgur.com/Shmx3c5.png
On the message age section, you can choose the periods you wish to search for, for example
Between 10 and 15 days, means you'll be searching for results older than ten days ago, but less than 15 days ago. With this, you can search within any timeframe you wish to, by just calculating the days interval.

Thanks for the pointer to the search options, and specifically to sort the search results, but I just tried it and it doesn't sort the results by "most recent topic first" even though I chose that sort order. My results displayed in a random order - 2018,2018,2013,2017,2011,2014. Makes searching for the most recent topic quite hard when it doesn't :-(

Thanks isaac_clarke22 and Maus0728 for replying. I did try the google search option - site:bitcointalk.org <keyword search> - but although it does search and I can do searching far quicker, it's older data - not from today for example. I tried a couple of searches of posts from today to test and they are not yet showing up as results on Google, so there must be a delay.

And I get that there are limits for newbies - and from what I've read the limit was imposed due to naughty people - but it makes it hard to interact and engage (and rank up) when my ability to search for interesting topics and threads is hampered by time limits so strict. I did find a post saying there used to be a 6 minute limit - like WOW, how was the board ever usable back then.

Anyway, thanks for replying. I'll try to bite my lip and ride it out.

Search time periods
by
the-zedman
on 27/08/2021, 06:55:33 UTC
Firstly, I apologise if this question has been asked before, but my search of search brings up a million results that are not related to the issue.

From what I understand, at a Newbie rank like me, my search time period - the time elapsed between searches - is limited to one search every 90 seconds. If this is wrong then please tell me, as I must be doing something wrong.

Anyway, assuming I'm correct, the 90 seconds between each search is a really long and very painful. Can this be reduced? Why is search limited this way, as it's just a search, not random rant posts.

I am keen to learn about this board, and research more on crypto, but it's being hampered by the 90 seconds search limit period. It's actually very frustrating. I've been settings a countdown timer on my phone every time I search so I know when I can search again, which to me seems quite ridiculous.

Can this limit be removed or at the very least reduced to a sensible time period.

Thanks.

SaltPool Crypto Monitoring & Trust Service
by
the-zedman
on 26/08/2021, 00:13:46 UTC
SaltPool has released a new crypto monitoring and trust service.

They were prompted to create this service due to recent crypto projects turning out to be scams, and were frustrated with the lack of easily obtainable info to validate the risk of a project.

The first service they have developed is a MONITOR dashboard where you can keep an eye on the availability of various project infrastructure, like domain name, DNS, seednodes, explorer, wallet, and more, all from one dashboard.

The information shown on the MONITOR dashboard is basic information about the projects pulled from publicly available sources.

https://www.saltpool.net/monitor.php

Here's a screenshot of the MONITOR dashboard: https://i.ibb.co/0DV4xf3/Screen-Shot-2021-08-26-at-9-57-39-am.png

The second service they have developed is a TRUST dashboard that shows data on each crypto project to help you decide on your trust level for each project. Again, the information shown on the TRUST dashboard is basic information about the projects pulled from publicly available sources.

https://www.saltpool.net/trust.php

Here's a screenshot of the TRUST dashboard: https://i.ibb.co/VQTtG11/Screen-Shot-2021-08-26-at-10-03-57-am.png

You can also add additional projects to monitor and check.

This is a great service, and provides some interesting and valuable information about crypto projects in a simple one page dashboard.

Re: Buy a house in Dubai with DodgeCoin

In order to increase the role of cryptocurrencies in UAE businesses, a Dubai-based construction company announced plans to buy residential units in the city using DodgeCoin. According to Samana, buyers can become homeowners in the Jumeirah Village Project by paying DodgeCoin and also benefit from a five percent discount compared to paying in other currencies.

And once you've moved in you'd be in the DogeHouse !! Especially when you upset the wife !  Grin

As posted on SaltPool Discord, and thanks to Cly at SaltPool for the heads-up:

TEDDYBYTE: It appears that the devs at TeddyByte have scammed everyone and closed discord, website, explorer, DNS, everything. I will collapse all TDB masternodes and give a refund for the remainder of the month. Arggh!!

Their site is still under development. When are they targeting to launch their marketplace? If they can indeed deliver this marketplace, maybe this will help them sustain their existence in the market. Because thousands of alts were already gone because they didn't have any use case at all.  Hope it is not all talks here.

I understand that the website will be launched this week - and I'm keen to see it too. And you're right, the launch of the marketplace is a key cog in proving the project and showing they have a viable product.

Re: Combode Not syncing

Hello,
I'm trying to use the combode wallet, but nothing is synchronizing.
do you know if there are some documentations about the common problems?

Another thig is that the websites are offline (browse and main).

Thank you

Yeah, I'm having the same issue - not syncing. And the AddNodes listed on their Discord don't work either.

To answer the other question - I found out about it on https://www.saltpool.net as they have a shared MN available.

Yes I agree. The project is coming along well. Sure there is still work to do, but this takes time with a small team. Not everything can happen all on the same day !

VKC is now listed on Solidus and SouthXchange, with more to come.

They have daily VKC airdrops, rain, chat-bounties, and other engagement on their Discord - which has good involvement from followers.

Plus the project is listed on SaltPool for shared master nodes, both full and instant, as well as staking.

The concept is unique, and has real-world potential - it's not just yet another vanity coin, but something actually useful.

Check them out.

Further, master nodes are also available at https://ihostmn.com/hostmn.php?coin=VKC

Our website / Working platform will be live in the next few days.

They just posted today on their Discord:

"Front end of the website is now up and working !

Link: https://cryptocribs.org/

In the next few days / week. The backend, register account etc will all be enabled and will be working.

More updates will follow asap."

They clearly state on the site that it's beta - so the test content they have there makes sense.

It will be interesting to see the next iteration of the site, and as people have previously suggested, where the "cribs" will be, and the cost of course.

Good work so far though.
