You guys do realize that these sellers can turn around and sell on eBay, right?

Being assholes to everyone to tries to sell on the forum is only going to reduce the number of sellers willing to post here, leaving only the abundant scammers.

Post a kernel log from the device, that will help with debug.

One guess would be a router problem

The ones I got were

Server Technologies Sentry Switched Cabinet Distribution Unit CDU CW-8H2-L30M
Server Technologies Sentry Switched Cabinet Distribution Unit CDU CX-8H2-L30M

The CW is the master, and the CX uses a 6-pin telephone cord to connect to the master.  So 12 switched plugs on two CDU (two 30A circuits) that are controlled from the one web interface.

They are called molex mini fit jr

They are a couple bucks each from mouser or digikey, or maybe $1.00 more to upgrade to the gold finish.

The ones you linked will work fine

APW3 uses a standard C14 socket like a PC power supply.  The UK cord will be a "kettle cord", the US cord would be same as used for a PC (C13).  However, at 120V an APW3 will not run an s9 - It requires >208V.  Just for reference, an APW3 will power up at any input >85V, but it requires >208V to deliver the power required for an s9.

If you use 208V or 220V outlets for mining in the US, you probably already have a PDU which uses cheap C13-C14 cords to connect to the power supplies.

Hope it helps.

I'll sell you a chip for $100.

Problem is, it's about 0.4mm pitch blind mount and not likely to be seated successfully without a split vision system.

Also, fails are often more than one chip.  Haven't read the most recent parts of this thread, but the fails I've seen cascaded over multiple tiers of chips.

I'm not trying to talk you out of it, but I don't want complaints that my chip is bad just because you can't place it.

Or, if you're sure it's only one chip, have the whole top tier pulled off and use one of those.  If you don't adjust the pic you'll be running at 50mV overvolt for the remaining tiers..  not that big a deal

Ben, you still haven't gotten any miners yet?  You were trolling some time ago, and seem to still be doing the same.

Why don't you let OP sell in peace.  Give your offer and let that be your voice.  Maybe if OP wants to unload quick you'll get some devices at half of Bitmain's price.  Maybe not.  You should wait for 10nm, it's probably just around the corner

You can check it for tampering with the software test, the instructions are on the ledger page.

But things can usually be made much simpler:  if the ledger is configured when you get it, it is unsafe.  Someone may have a copy of the key phrase.

In that case, enter an incorrect pin 3x and the seed will be abandoned.  Then the device can be reinitialised like new.  For extra paranoia, do this process twice to make sure the 24 word passphrase actually changes when a new seed is initialized.

You can order those chips on alibaba. Perhaps even aliexpress.

Could you replace said chip?

If so, just replace, add thermal paste and heatsink, should be good to go.

Pardon if my suggestion isn't the best, just trying to help. Know a good deal about computer hardware but this isn't my expertise.

What is the name of the chip we need to purchase?
Can you post a link to an example?

I too am having issues with a miner that kills my PSUs after only half an hour.

I can give you a link for a Taobao seller advertising fake antminer chips.  No joke - he is openly selling counterfeits that other sellers will in turn resell to us.  Seeing that kind of turned me off to looking for a source other than bitmain.

They look for an IP using DHCP - just go to your router's DHCP leases and see who recently requested an IP.  They usually have the hostname antminer and are easy to spot.

If you don't see anything in the router's leases, check your LAN cable.

I never used the IP tool, and I don't think it's needed.

Mark, second time - don't troll.

Come and make your offer, if it's a match you get the device.  If not, you move along.  This is just business, it's not necessary to get upset.

If you feel you will soon get miners for $1.2k, be patient, wait, and buy at $1.2k.  I wish you the best in either case, but try not to make the forum an unpleasant place to do business.  NOTE: I will fully support you trolling scammers - have at it!  But for normal folks doing business, please keep it civil.

Really nice timeline, looks like a great mini data center!

Was that panel put in specifically for mining, or are you guys tapping off existing circuits?  Just wondering

Nice work!

I had a board like that with intermittent 0 and not 0 asic.

So if the chips have core vcc (which they do, your number is right) but they don't talk, what's next?

They need IO vcc, they need clock, and they need an unbroken connection to rx and tx on the header.

And they need to be alive, but since they came up once it's likely they are, and are just suffering an intermittent issue with one of the other items.

How good's your scope?

What if they're cold wallets?

You should restate your goal as "I want to try to steal bitcoin by brute forcing private keys"

Post in all the worldwide papers.  If you can do it, you can have all the coins but their value goes to zero.  If you can't do it (like all the other criminals trying) then it's good press for the network.
