Re: Is it possible to find the IP address of a Bitcoin address?
by
thecoindoctor

I found this quote in another thread:

Monero has a ton of bugs and nobody is able to fix them because - guess what -  Monero developers have no idea what thay are doing. I2P integration into CryptoNote? Who told you that would be a good idea??

Long  story short, i find Bytecoin more reliable.
You realize that without an IP solution any blockchain anonymity is rendered meaningless right?

So is it possible to find the IP address of any Bitcoin user via their Bitcoin address/transaction?

For example, here is a random address:

http://blockchain.info/address/1PFMGybSCDnoq8bHtzQD2vUfyHohsH8FF5

What would be/have been their IP address?
Not really, a lot of encryption to prevent that

Re: Mining Bitcoins with old rigs

Is there any way for those poor fellows like me, equipped with an Intel Dual core 2.2 GHz CPU and no GPU and no Bitcoins in their wallet to buy hashes, start mining some Bitcoin in tiny amounts? Or any other type of service that would run in the background of my PC and generate Bitcoin like ThreadManager ( https://coingeneration.com/ ) and others.
Best to use a good pc man

The 2014 FIFA world cup is only one month away! Discuss about your favorite teams and their chances of winning the competition.

Not a fan of football anymore. Plus all the money that gets spent on this could go to a lot better things

I met Jay Larson, co-founder of Tunapanda, during my recent journey in Kenya. Tunapanda is a partner ROCK, where I had a chance to work with the programs participants. Tunapanda are in the midst of a crowd-funding campaign and, in order to help raising awareness of the fantastic job these guys are doing, I decided to release [most of], the raw material from a conversation I had with Jay on a hot Sunday afternoon in Kibera. I wish them all the best.

Re: Ideas for newbies to earn a little coin

What are some new options we can use to get some of the people just stumbling into the world of BTC or people who have been out for a while and know they can't mine or afford to buy any equipment or outright by BTC to get a little piece of the coin?

Personally I've been struggling with ideas myself for a couple of weeks, ad sites are out because they pay out too little. I remember when bitvistor was paying out a good deal of coins for each website but that was well over a year or so ago. Faucets are becoming a thing of the past, people can't afford high speed asic's or outright buying coins.

Anybody have any new ideas?
I would just like to say thanks to all the people who posted some ideas. ty
