how would bitcoin hold up during a financial crisis.

....

Venezuela could provide a real world example of how bitcoin would fare during a financial crisis. The venezuelan native currency (the bolivar) is currently hyperinflating. The entire nation is bordering on economic collapse, despite being rich in oil. Still venezuelans mine bitcoins and find ways to buy/sell using crypto currencies, some are doing well with their crypto mining enterprises, earning a decent living for themselves under circumstances where they otherwise might not be able to.

That's probably the best case example I can think of, although there could easily be africans, cubans and others currently not living under the best economic or living standards for whom bitcoin is something of a savior.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. I like your thinking.

Chill man, Tron has gone up but that's yet again a shitty pump and dump activity. Be careful if you keep your coins in  an exchange, they might mistake you to be a part of a pump and dump group which may consequently result in your account getting banned. Also if you're living in a world thinking that Tron has gone up due to its excellent credibility and stuff, know that such is not a case. Just a pump and dump activity for people to profit.

True. Also (the new) people buy it because it's cheap. Not saying it's a bad project per se but just really overrated at the moment. I assume Justin Sun does a good job at marketing though and sure promises a lot. At this market cap I really wouldn't buy TRON for what they actually have achieved.

I see your point about how overhyped and well marketed it is, although they have partnerships in the pipelines that will open up direct access to over 100 000 000 users potentially using the TRON coin. All this is expected to rapidly progress in the opening quarter of this year.

There is a lot of speculation out there about how Tron is not active or achieving any real-word results but that is simply not true. they have already announced the partnership with o-bike, peiwo, and game.com. These sites have direct access to huge amounts of customers who will be using the protocol very shortly.

I mean you can sit around and wait too see it all happen, but by that time, the investors who were able to look in to the future and take a risk on the awesome team behind it, those investors will be rewarded big time.

I try to stick with projects which actually 'have something to show', real use cases and actual development and progress. TRON is basically a 11B whitepaper. Great marketing, barely a product and releasing partnerships with companies the founder founded (Peiwo).
Actually I don't mind people buying TRON, it's their decision. Unfortunately I fear this could all affect the whole market when it goes to shit one day.

It's common practice to invest in early stage idea's, it's high risk, but high reward.

A companies value is merely nothing more than a figure which the pubic determines by measuring supply versus demand.

I think the fact that TRON is apparently "nothing more than a whitepaper" and has attracted such great demand should actually speak volumes to the power of Tron and what the future might hold in store for them.

The world is speaking.....

We Need Tron!

The US government have already made actions regarding this, they are now imposing taxes on transactions done by bitcoin. I heard UK is already doing actions.

I heard Janet Jackson showed us her nipple because it turned her on, but that doesn't make it true.  Wink

As indicated by predictions bitcoin should have achieved 15k$ by end of 2017 and fall in first week of jan 2018

In any case, shockingly its effectively reached 17k$ in 2017.

Should I purchase or hold my btc?I don't plan to sell at any point in the near future.

Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolldd Shocked
If you should hold your bitcoin it will big profit for you and if you want to sell your bitcoin that you can because bitcoin price grow up very fast and i suggest you that you should your money in bitcoin and it will not risky because it will get you best profit and you will feel more secure about your future.

It would seem like double-dipping to a certaiin extent, not that they wouldn't do that, but I just don't think they will waste time attempting to tax cryptocurrency as it is a decentralised and anonyomous asset, it wouldn't work very well.

I am of the opinion that bitcoin's value in dollars will shoot up like crazy! Bitcoin is used by people (at least some of them!) as an investment and as a hedge against inflation. It is the new gold! So yeah, bitcoin will appreciate even further in value and more people will start to use it.

I don't think I can agree with this at all, you have to think that in its current state a ton of people in Bitcoin is being used by people as an investment with the money that they can afford to put into it. If the global economy and financial institutions were to have a crisis people would pull this money immediately, as they need it for their real lives.

People would pull out the price would crash and then most likely come back up, but who knows.

Some very interesting points here. I would have to agree that it would crash BUT it might just depend on two important factors, 1- how mainstream bitcoin has become. So if there is some serious real-world use there, then people might turn to bitcoin during the crisis. #2 - The cause of the crisis. If it's got anything to do with the banks for example, the world might finally come to its senses and turn to a decentralised economy. But who knows.

Stopped watching after few mins  Embarrassed

It was a little bit disappointing yes.

I think the biggest problem was the he built so much hype up, it felt like a let-down.

His last live stream had under 10k, I believe he had over 200k for this one.

He copping slack for many reasons, even people saying that it all looked unprofessional.

I guess in the crypto world, everyone is way too suspicious. I think what he does is very personal, and people should be so grateful, considering a lot of founders out there don't like to be known at all, and the rest get minions to do all that stuff, we should be grateful that he is offering us a weekly update, delivered by himself, at his personal house.

When this guy is bigger than Mark Zuckerberg and charging 100k a minute for discussions, you will remember back to these live-streams and just realse how awesome they were.

Re: TRON Announcement Today!

I think the announcement couldn't be big enough to even hold the current price. Tron already skyrocket too hard, nobody can tell where or if there are support zones. The probability of a massive correction is way bigger than an additional rise. I will wait to invest until it drops below 0.1$ again. Still a nice project!

I was impressed with the way it rallied back when it dropped to $0.15. I'd say it won't be dropping below that.

Not to mention, the big announcements will still be coming very shortly.

I wouldn't be counting on it to hit $0.10, but that's just me.

I would say that TRON definitely has some safety at $0.15. It has twice rallied back now after dropping to that price. Steady at $0.17 now and that looks the right price, but definitely wouldn't talk anybody out of jumping on at that price. Should only go op over the next few weeks. At the very least, if you are interested in TRON, put an order in at $0.15.
