Mining Rig For Sale.  $1800 OBO BTC/LTC accepted!

Hardware:

GPUs - 5x Gigabyte WF3 7950
MOBO - MSI Z77a-GD65
CPU - Intel Celeron G1610 Ivy Bridge
RAM - Corsair Vengence 16GB (4x4GB)
PSU - LEPA G Series 1600W 80 Plus Gold
Case - Custom Built Open Air frame (Detritus style Open Frame case)

This is a really stable rig.  Cards run at 75C and has at 3000Kh/s.  You can push the hash rate to 3300Kh/s but it is a little less stable.  Let me know if you have any questions.

I am located on Long Island.  If your local we can meetup (Pickup or Dropoff) otherwise i can ship to continental US.

I also have 2 additional GPUs (same as above) for sale and a Rosewill Lightning 1300W continuous 80 Plus Gold PSU for sale!

Make your best offer!  I want to get everything sold ASAP!!!

Re: Best way to cool down a GPU?
by

Do GPUs use the vents in the back of the cards (by all the video output ports) as air intakes or air exhausts?  I am running an open air case with a box fan for cooling. I want to direct my airflow correctly to get maximum cooling and not restrict the way air is supposed to be flowing for cooling the card.

Back is exhaust.  If you have your case open, point the fan directly at the cards as though it was the side panel with a fan on it.  Cool air onto the card, stock fan blows it down over the card to cook, and then goes out the back.

Thanks.  I have an open air case that i built.  I will put the fan on the other side of the cards so i am not blowing air into an exhaust vent.

Really high LW in cgminer- need help
by

I started to notice that the LW value in cgminer is showing a very high number.  It is almost 1:1 with my accepted shares.  What does LW mean?  Is it a bad thing?  How do i fix it?  Thanks for the help!

Thanks again

Re: 5x7950 Gigabyte WF3 Rig using 1475 Watts!!!
by

I get roughly the same when running a z77a-GD55 + G1610 + 5x7950 Gigabyte WF3 (1100/1400mem). Most of the time however, I'm probably around  ~50-90 watts lower (that you stated)  probably attributed to:

1. I run dual gold PSU's so the efficiency is close to peak rated.
2. I run them cool < 70C so with fan RPMS ~1800-2000RPM. This might improve longevity, but since I have to use dual box fans forcing air through the rig, that costs another 100W combined.

Try to compute if the additional power is worth it (if it matters that is). I live in an area where power is relatively cheap, however, the power bill is still substantial.  Sad

That is almost my rig exactly.  I am running a z77a-gd65 and 5 WF3 (1100/1400)  I have one box fan blowing air over the cards.  They run at around 70c.  I am using a gold rated 1300w PSU.  I think our numbers should be much much lower.  I unplugged one card and am getting a reading of 1170 which means that 1 card is using almost 300w.  Thats crazy.

Now calculate for 80% PSU efficiency and knock off about 200W for the motherboard, CPU, drives etc..... .... ...

+1 depending on what psu and cpu he is running could be less.

I am running a 55w CPU and my power supply is 80 plus gold efficient.

i have a 43 wat cpu, laptop hdd, and my PSU is an 80plus gold efficient PSU...so i understand i need to knock off some for mobo and psu inefficiency but it should not be that drastic

card seting 1050core  1250 ram   1.050v   630kh per card  3 cards 705w  4 card 920w

Are you using the same card?  Gigabyte WF3 with f43 bios?

I am running 5 7950s, Gigabyte WF3 with the f43 undervolted bios and the rig is using 1475 watts at the wall.  I just purchased a kill-a-watt meter and am in disbelief.  I have flashed the f43 bios to the cards, so the voltage of the cards is now 1.09 volts.  That is like 300W per card!!!!!  This seems way to high.  I have read these cards are supposed to be using less than 200W per card.  Any suggestions?

I use x64 ultimate, 13.3, and it detected all seven of my 5870s right away.

I have 7950s and i could not get more than 4 to be recognized without errors with win7 x64.

I have the z77a-gd65 and i cannot get 5 cards to run...always have 1 card which shows up in windows but has a code 43 problem...with win7 enterprise x64.

Try Windows 8. Seriously...it has been reported to support more cards.

I've only heard issues regarding Windows 8. My friends and I couldnt get the G45 board to accept 5 cards on it and we even used presence shorts.

Well i got it to recognize all 5 cards without errors but now i cant get cgminer to run.  I am going to try and do a complete uninstall and try catalyst 13.1 instead of 13.4.  I will let you know how it works

Ok i have installed windows 8 and all the cards are recognized without any errors.  Has any1 experienced problems with cgminer on win8?  I cant get it to run with my config file.  Very weird it keeps crashing and saying "cgminer has stopped working"

It is a stability issue with your config. I've had the same issue before. You have to go in and change some settings to make it stable again. It is different for every rig.

I even tried running my config without any parameters and it didnt work.  It will run if i remove the --scrypt.  It is the --scrypt that is causing the problem.  Not sure how to fix this??
