there are many other coins like this specific one. after some research there seams to be pieces of this coin. "borrowed" from others..
Care to support your claim with your findings? Specific examples, if they are still active, links, etc.
google is your friend. I am NOT knocking this coin, but am saying that there seams to be pieces from other coins (some wording on the site being part of it.)
I do hope that the DEVs are not just plagiarizing other peoples work ( or maybe they were part of a previous Dev team)
just saying, research before investing is always key
Coinguys -- you are welcome to join our slack channel and discuss. we are totally open and we have a strong community. I'd love to see other similar projects, because this space is going to be huge and we won't be the only players. We need a growing community of people who share our vision. Please do post related projects in this thread or in our slack -- I'm confident that we didn't copy this from some other project, so no worries on my end.

Also, did I already post to this thread my idea about starting a blockchain that only has a total supply of one coin? If not, consider the gauntlet thrown. Imagine how much that coin is going to be worth!!

haha. I wouldn't take the 100 years explanation too seriously. 
The point is that there is no "theory of supply and supply". All this talk of the number of coins completely neglects the demand side of the coin, which is much more difficult to predict, but is equally important.
Let me be clear and save a lot of people a lot of money: You CANNOT predict the value of a coin based on the number of coins that will be produced. And, before you change strategies and jump into the stock market, you CANNOT predict the value of a stock based on only the number of stocks issued. Please, save your money, just stuff it under your mattress and sit quietly until help arrives.
Now, the inflation RATE does matter. And in that case, we are identical to Ethereum -- the rate (relative to total supply) decreases overtime.

Yes, of course -- the fair price is the price at which sellers are willing to sell and buyers are willing to buy. What drives me crazy is when people believe they can predict that price based on only the total coins that will be produced or the total coins per block. I'm tempted to launch a new blockchain that only produces 1 coin in the first block and then never another one. It should be worth about 21M BTC, right?

I don't understand how this is facing "huge inflation pressure". Inflation is generally measured as a rate relative to the total currency in existence. While more coins per block may make the price per coin a lower value, this has nothing to do with inflation. Musicoin's rate of inflation is identical to any chain with a fixed block reward. And, furthermore, any chain with a fixed block reward has a monotonically decreasing rate of inflation.
Am I missing something?
Yes, the launch went smoothly and I was really happy to see people in the community joining the slack and helping other miners get started.
We knew from day one that success means building a community of miners, artists, and listeners. We are definitely on the right track.
And, speaking of community, I'm grateful for the enthusiasm about the project -- not just people hoping to mine quickly and dump. We had multiple offers from early miners to donate coins back into the project fund so that we can move quickly into the next phase, which is to get more artists on board. Brian Byrne has been helping a great deal with that (he's literally a rock star!) and people from the community have been reaching out to anyone they know in the music business.
Hope to see more people join the slack and get involved.

Musicoin went through an alpha test of the application. Shortly after launch of blockchain, it will re-open app to musicians with an invite system. The next phase will focus on engagement with musicians.

It was unfortunate that it did not go smoothly, but it's senseless to push on with a chain that appears to be unhealthy. Parity could not connect to the network at all, and complained starting from block #1. Join the slack, talk to the team, get involved if you care to contribute -- I'm sure your expertise could be put to good use.

Just an update that Gatecoin expressed an interested in listing Musicoin after we launch. Also interested in recommendations from the group on other exchanges that we could/should approach.
