So while MintDice will continue to run and we are going to continually expand it's offerings and core product and we're more than happy to look after our users, it's not the entire focus of MintDice as a company. We prefer building, and are doing that for others that have wanted to license our technology, with MintDice as a showcase.
I missed this Ann thread and was looking who is currently managing the ANN. Good thing that I figured out finally. The telegram is not working, may be you update it in your personal text.

A major focus has been providing technology to other parties rather than focusing on our own product. This is partially because none of us are really salespeople. We're all a bunch of nerds that want to provide the best product, Provably Fair technology, anonymous gaming and that kind of thing to our users.
It seem the project is a hobby?

Telegram is not working, that deactivated a while ago.

The project is not a hobby, because as was stated, MintDice's technologies are being licensed to other groups.

And as was stated, due to the growth of MintDice's technology, it will continue to expand it's infrastructure over time in synergy.

Anybody still playing here? I hear so little about Mintdice these days....
I get an email from them here and there and I see the person that runs the site is still active on the forum, but when I login I don't see many playing. Site has its own forum/blog section so maybe they spend most of their time improving their own in house news?

Honestly, Mintdice is running for more than 3 years now but there is no significant improvement in their traffic in this 3 years of operating. I can even say that it was better when they have just launched 3 years ago. After they stopped the signature campaign to focus on the development of the V2, not many updates after that time. No promotion, rare update in this ANN thread for too long time but I'm surprised that Mintdice is still alive and running although without enough players.

The website is still up and running and getting improvements every month. It's gained some traction the past few months but it's still pretty small overall in terms of users but also at all time highs.

A major focus has been providing technology to other parties rather than focusing on our own product. This is partially because none of us are really salespeople. So wild. Right now there are 62,900 ETH validators waiting to deposit in queue taking 34 days 1 hour.

At the same time, there are 22 ETH validators exiting to withdraw in queue taking minutes.

Withdrawals were like the most bullish thing possible, apparently.

Re: 🐁🐁MiceRace.com -The worlds first mouse racing gambling platform !🐁🐁

This was my favorite gambling platform of all time. I wish it would come back lol. Or if there was any news about it.

They did actually have a pretty reasonably concept, the problem is it wasn't executed correctly since the developers were gambling novices. With correct implementation, it could have been done pretty well.

I understand that this is an old thread, but I must confess that I had to research it to try to understand how it was possible for someone to even think that picking up mice and running a race and people betting would be a good idea, so I saw this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDG5ZCQFP_s

this is a video of how this casino made bets on mouse races, even though i watched it several times i kept asking myself how people would analyze which mouse they should bet on? and how could they put each odd value on each mouse? how many markets were there in this game? there are many questions, but something that I also think is that it is wrong to enslave animals in this way, that is to earn money at the expense of the animals' pain, they did not consent to this. but unfortunately we are in a society where making money is what matters most even if morals and ethics are ignored, the project went bankrupt and even if it had not gone bankrupt today it would face many problems in this market and would end up going bankrupt

I sometimes think that there are some mice that are drugged in order to perform better compared to the rest of the roster. I also wonder how the odds are determined on these mice: do they have a rating on how these mice perform? Are they keeping tabs on the mice's previous performances on previous races? There's just a lot of questions that doesn't make sense to us outside viewers of this gambling game, and I'm quite interested in knowing these information even though I won't really bet on this ever.

That was the major issue. They did have a rating mechanism, but it was extremely poor. If they had increased the rating mechanism's actuality closer to reality, they could have potentially had a successful business.

They weren't charging enough vig, they weren't optimized on rating mice efficiently on both long/short term metrics, they weren't doing in real time optimizations for how mice were likely to perform on any given race. They also weren't adjusting lines very efficiently. Among many other issues.

The amount of Reddit tier cope that's going to justify how losing Bakhmut is actually a good thing.

The reality is, it was a very strategically important city because it now gives them access to a lot of roads a geographically significant areas. Over the coming weeks/months, expect Russia to take a lot of territory pushing up to the next/final cities in the Donbass region.

Of those, I guess option 4. But even if I had less money I'd still operate the same. Just buy some BTC/ETH when you have extra money and hold it. It's the easiest play that will come back with the best results long term almost for sure.

He's the OG. Very trustable. Probably some of the best opinions in the space, period. Love the guy. That said, he hasn't been producing much content of late, I'm not entirely sure why that is.

I watch him on Odysee which he posts to, a website based on the decentralized LBRY protocol, since I refuse to use YouTube personally:

Some smaller platforms might have unique games you won't see elsewhere, communities more suited for the kind of person you are. Or more personalized service.

Of course, you may pay a price with fewer options. And certainly don't go to a site just because it's small. Smaller sites may on average be more willing to scam customers.

That said, bigger platforms can get overly bureaucratic, loose touch with their roots and what not.

Re: ETH gas fees are a joke.
by
theskillzdatklls
on 28/04/2023, 17:37:41 UTC
Historically, speaking since EIP1559, the gas fees are pretty low actually:

But yeah, this is very much a weird subject. Because on the one hand, it's super expensive to use the network. And yet the ETH network is valuable enough that people use it anyway. And when people do that, all ETH holders benefit as ETH is burned away from the network, potentially forever since we're presently at -0.17% since the merge happened and decreasing.

The major thing I guess is for anyone that wants to use it to be very patient. Over the coming 1-5 years, there will be upgrades to the L1. Either that or start jumping on and using L2s.

Re: Will ETH has the capacity to pass BTC?
by
theskillzdatklls
on 22/04/2023, 18:06:12 UTC
The ETH/BTC ratio is presently about 0.068. It needs to reach 0.16 to "flip" BTC in market cap, though I'd argue it would probably be a little less than that in all actuality because many more BTC have been lost for forever on a relative basis than ETH because everyone thought BTC was a joke in the beginning.

Do I think it can get there? Yes. It's hard to say what the odds are. But seems like a relatively good gamble to me. I think BTC is the safer overall bet as just a crypto to buy and hold. But ETH may outperform in general over time.

The major reasons I see ETH outperforming over time is simply that people both use and build on it far more than BTC. By factors of about 10x, consistently. See for yourself:

https://cryptofees.info/
https://www.developerreport.com/

I do wonder if BTC will get left behind technologically. Of course, it's stability and lean software may be what saves it in the long run. Hard to know.

Re: ETH Back in 2021 Form ;)
by
theskillzdatklls

Ethereum now is like it was in 2019, 4 years ago. In 2019 bear market Ethereum recovered from about $130 to that year highest price about $340.

I don't expect Ethereum to have a rally which is too closely to its all time high in 2021 about $4700. It won't happen in a bear market and it is simple to realize that fact. I agree that it is a good plan to accumulate Ethereum before a next halving of Bitcoin in 2024. Ethereum will follow Bitcoin after Bitcoin makes its new all time high. It is specifically supported by the Burning mechanism by Ethereum itself.

A great website to see changes of Ethereum supply after the Burning mechanism was activated and how will it go in speculative model.
https://ultrasound.money/

Great website, go there all the time. ETH down now almost 110k in supply since the merge. Which feels like a lot but is a drop in the bucket. And it's absolutely nothing compared to the old POW issuance that used to be live. Regardless it's a fun trend to watch.

The interesting thing to note about ETH is the ETH/BTC ratio to me personally. It really didn't lose much of anything during the bear market trading around roughly 0.07 which is interesting. And during bull markets, various alts seem to crush. So there is a plausible case to be made that on the next bull market ETH rips higher on the ETH/BTC ratio to somewhere in the 0.1-.2 range. Who knows.

I can say that there's about 10x developer work done on ETH consistently over time and about 10x TX fees happening vs Bitcoin, so it is a highly sought after blockchain network, especially when compared with anything else, even Bitcoin.

Re: What do you think of gold price in long term?

In the long term, I do worry about asteroid mining or if energy became cheap enough, the process to simply create gold from other atoms.

If either one of those or something else came to be in the next 50 years or so, then the price could completely crater.

For that reason, even for long term minded sovereign minded individuals, precious metals should only make up some of their portfolio.

Re: Will Michael J Saylor become the richest man in the history of mankind?

~
He holds 140 000 BTC at this point. Nearly 1% of all BTC in circulation at the moment belongs to his company Microstrategy
From what i understand from the reports that were published earlier Michael Saylor holds around 17k BTCitcoin, Tim Draper purchased a whole lot more than him during the Silk road auction, no idea whether he is holding those coins still and Winklevoss Twins have a much bigger bag of 70k BTC, so if holding the most BTCitcoin would make anyone the richest then Tim Draper and the Winklevoss Twins will be the top holders.

Yeah accurate. And for them to be the richest in the world, the market cap of Bitcoin would probably have to be around $20T at least. Which means approximately a $1m/coin BTC. Certainly within the plausible BTC ranges. I think $3-5M is semi bullish and getting to 10m+ starts getting a little loony but possible especially under certain constraints like hyperinflation.

But all that to say that yeah, big BTC players may control a lot of wealth in the future on the global scale.

It really would be quite nice if they restarted, allowed partial withdrawals and then had a make-up token that they used to start paying their customers back with over time that could be traded at a discount on the open market.

Bitfinex effectively did similar during their hack and paid it off. Seems like a good enough method to me.

The only altcoin I have long term conviction in is $LBC. Huge network, nearly 50m users/mo, tiny market cap, extremely useful product. I don't get it at all. It's been weighed down by a court case by the SEC but I don't think that will persist indefinitely.

Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ?
by
theskillzdatklls
on 21/04/2023, 10:24:23 UTC
Ethereum (ETH) is the biggest altcoin on the market, with a market capitalization of almost $200 billion1. While Bitcoin is still considered the king of cryptocurrencies, ETH is the most successful smart contract platform among altcoins. Ethereum has been expanding its DeFi ecosystem and has the most institutional dominance among cryptocurrencies. However, it is important to note that the definition of an altcoin has evolved over time, and there are many other altcoins with unique use cases and technical innovations

Thanks for putting that together, ChatGPT. Lol.
