From https://www.facebook.com/MiningBitcoinCz
FB: "a short outtage of our US datacenter has caused a short drop in hashrate. We are searching for alternatives to have the mining cluster more reliable"

A short drop in hashrate?  The avg 30min hashrate dropped below 100ghs from what I saw.  The pool mining addresses were a black hole on the internet.  Ironically, as I was typing this, all of my miners had to reset and reconnnect.  Doesn't seem like it's 100% fixed yet.  Payouts have also decreased.  Have considered moving rigs to another pool til slush sorts it out.  Have been here since I started mining with cpu.  Will hate to have to move due to unreliability.

I'm in the same boat.  I have been giving them shares, with no return.  400k/hs here

Abit disappointed with Oakpool. Mined for 3 hours and not a single coin. Mine with P2P and have 2.5k (with 2mh) after literally 10 minutes.

Any chance of running a Litecoin pool, too, slush?  That'd make me a very happy camper. Smiley

I want to get into litecoins, so that would be cool.

I would agree with these statements as well.

I wish butterfly labs was as open with people as Slush and others in the bitcoin community are with what's going on.  I asked for a refund 2 days ago on part of my orders and I haven't heard anything back.  (Surprise surprise?)

Another site that fails to update people with truth, open-ness and honesty is bitinstant.  I no longer trade through them because of the problems they have been having.  They promise and do not deliver.

Slush is the man and I will continue to mine with the pool.  Thank you for the updates and transparency.  We all get more careful and diligent due to times like these and I personally appreciate your updates and contribution and dedication to the bitcoin community.

Cheers   Grin

There is a wired article talking about how bitinstant got hacked for around $12000, so they lost a significant amount of money (if it IS true), in that instance AND with bitcoin skyrocketing in value, im sure they would loose tens if not hundreds of thousands if they paid everyone the value of the coins when its late compared to when you buy

That's old news.  It also wasn't really a 'hack'.  They gained access by asking for it, and it was given to them.  Proxying through somewhere when you are up to no good isn't anything new either.  Back in March i was making transfers through BitInstant without any problems.  This is a new issue based on timeframe.  Besides, they've always collected the same percentage (It actually has gone up significantly since I've been using them for MTGOX -> Paypal withdraws).  So with the larger amount of volume  flowing through, that just means more income for them.  I'm sure 12K missing bit pretty hard, but the recovery process and moving forward should be done and over with at this point.

Anybody know of alternative sites to take my balance at mtgox and get it in my paypal?  Up until now I've used bitinstant but i'm tired of the 0 response and I feel wishy-washy about trusting how 'instant' or even "if at all" they will follow through.

Over 24 hours have gone by and I've asked URSAY in a PM, twice on here (and seen other users ask as well) and also posted on reddit asking what's up with paypal not being listed on bitinstant as a destination anymore.

I know people are busy, but it would take 2 seconds to answer back rather than letting people feel ignored.

I have gotten no response.

Although not incredibly suprising, it's sad a simple question like this goes unanswered.

It appears I can no longer que a MTGOX -> Paypal.  I will dig back in this thread, but are you no longer supporting paypal?  I was told I couldn't cash out MTGOX codes for USD after 4/10.  I want to empty the USD from the account before then.  Do I need to find another way to do it?

I saw users posting earlier asking if anyone had received their coins or cash...

I RECEIVED MY DEPOSIT TO PAYPAL THAT I WAS WAITING FOR.

I CAN CONFIRM I JUST RECEIVED MY FUNDS!

Took some time, but they did finally come through.

URSAY: I was on the 4/7 list.  You can mark me as resolved.
Thank you.

URSAY, I haven't heard anything and my funds are not in my paypal account.  I was on  your 4/7 list.  About 10 minutes ago, I sent you a PM.  Can you check it and respond please?  Thank you.

I'm on "the list" from 4/7, what does this mean?  I have submitted my order #.  Why do I still not have funds in my paypal?

I have another transaction I would like to do but I don't trust that it's going to go through in a timely manner (if at all at this point).  Noone has come back and said their issue was resolved, which I find odd.

I made a post on the forums as I have not gotten any response from bitinstant in the last 24 hours.  I made a withdraw from mtgox via a code to bitinstant to transfer to paypal.  My mtgox code was "cashed in" but the funds did not appear in my paypal.  There was an error in the API response string that stated INSUFFICIENT FUNDS

I still have no refund in mtgox or deposit into my paypal, and no response to my email or 'live' chat thingy on the website, which pretty much just submitted my question and said I would receive a response in my email (so much for 'live'?)

I would BEWARE of using bitinstant at this point as it doesn't appear transactions are going through.  Sadly, my transaction was worth a lot of USD.. which is why I'm so focused on getting this issue resolved, with zero response coming from bitinstant in regards to this issue.

As I said, BEWARE!!!

If you can give me some specific order info that I can work from then I will try to help!  Cheesy

My issue has been resolved thanks to an upstanding member in this community whose efforts I greatly appreciate. I am going to inform myself better on how to use BitInstant's services in the future.

Thanks again, JayTease.

Seriously?  Dude that's seriously badass.  Good people do exist in this world still and you got lucky someone honest caught it.  Betcha you're goona be a little more careful next time Smiley

Kudos to JayTease if you seriously did grab that guy's cash before someone stole it and you actually succeed in getting it back to him.

Just sayin.

BEWARE of using bitinstant right now. Errors out stating INSUFFICIENT FUNDS
by

No response to my inquery on their "live" chat on the site or the email that I sent in to support@bitinstant.com as they direct you to do on the site.

Just checked my Paypal, no deposit.  Also just checked my mtgox acct, no refund or deposit there in regards to this transaction.

BEWARE of using bitinstant right now.. They are not responding to this failed transaction that they claim was completed on their site even though the email I received from them states it failed due to insufficient funds on their end.

Will continue to update in regards to if they make good on this transaction or not.  In the meantime though, I would stay away from using them until a response is received.

Bitinstant to Paypal not working, says INSUFFICIENT FUNDS. Did I get screwed?

I just attempted to use mtgox code with bitinstant to transfer funds to my paypal account.  The mtgox code got claimed, and that balance is missing from my account, but it did not deposit any money into my paypal.  It even says "Order Completed" on their webpage.

I've used them before so my paypal account has already been "authorized" in their system so I know that's not it.

I opened my email that I entered in for tracking the order.. I see the standard notice from mtgox and them.  Only in the message from them it shows it failed.

APIResponse: {u'errorCode': u'INSUFFICIENT_FUNDS', u'paymentID': 0}

I would be very very leary about using bitinstant right now.

I will update this thread as the issue progresses.  Btw, the newbie limitation thing on this site is highly annoying.
