Re: How to detect Scam ICO/ potential fail projects
by

on 11/10/2018, 14:46:39 UTC
I agree with you, more and more scam projects are appeared in the crypto world right now. It is hard to tell whether the project is scam or not in just a few glance. The best way to tell is to do some research first, for example reading through some reviews and look for the projects that the dev have done before. If you are good at coding, then reading through the code in their project and gives you an idea of the scam project.

Re: is it true that bitcoin is a disaster for local banks

It is still too early to say that bitcoin is going to replace for local banks because bitcoin is not yet that popular compare to backs but the number of people using bitcoin is definitely growing. Bitcoin's feature is decentralization which cannot be generate by simply print it out. This is the biggest difference compare to banks where fiat money can be print out easily and centralized in small group of people.

Re: Downsides to crypto

In short term, I can not see the possibility for the world to be able to adopt and use bitcoin as official currency, because government wants to control something they can control, however, there is no central control on bitcoin due to its decentralized features.
If bitcoin is used as fiat one day, the downside would be all the people will go mining for the "money", because bitcoin can be generate through mining and large amount of bitcoin will held in small portion of people due to early mining.

Re: Banks will always be against cryptocurrencies?

Apparently banks and cryptocurrencies are always in compete over each other, even it looks like they are not. First the biggest feature of all crypto like bitcoin is the dencentralisation which it does not have a central control and the coin can be stored in your wallet and only you can access to it. In contrast, banks is centralizing the money and they earn money by lending your money to others. Two have different natures cannot work with each other.

I guess every exchange can be hacked, it's just depends on how hard it will be. Even the biggest exchange like Coinbase was hacked and lost millions of dollar. To me, putting your crypto in exchange is taking the risk of being hacked, so I will say don't store your crypto for a long term in exchange, withdraw the crypto within a week will help. The only save place to store the crypto is your wallet.

I totally agree with you. The idea of many fintech are inspired by the blockchain technology and some of projects are trying to applied it into the real world as an actual payment method. So it is a good time to invest in some project but just like you said, taking time to analyze the project is critical. Secondly, always keep a clear mind while making decision because if you sell the coins in fear and you may lose all of your profits.

Re: Coins kept in exchange, are they safe?
by

on 27/09/2018, 15:13:32 UTC
It is a very bad idea. Exchange is only use for trading, not for storage coins. First, you don't know the exchange is scam or not. When you are storing your coins in them, you are taking your own risk. Secondly, the exchange may be hacked and you will lose all your coins. Best example is the coincheck being hacked and lost worth $500million coins and cannot get it back forever. So think twice when you put you coins in exchange.

Re: Is $6000 to $7000 the stable price for bitcoin?
by
thisav
on 27/09/2018, 14:54:36 UTC
I guess so, the price of bitcoin has been fluctuating between 6000 and 7000 over the last months or so. On 2017, the price is around 6000 before the bull run starts. I am sure the bull run will come back again, and it is a great time to invest now. However, the buying slot is a bit weak compare to 2017, so the surge may not happen in 2018, but still not so bad to hold some in advance.

It is unavoidable for scamers appears in the crypto world because they see there are huge amount of people are investing crypto coins, and toke it as a chance to scam people to earn a fortune. Moreover, the lack of fully understand of the project causing more people fell on the traps. Therefore, reading the reviews and understand the project can reduce the chance of being scam.

Re: ETH better or BCH ?
by

on 26/09/2018, 15:33:52 UTC
ETH is way better than BCH, no doubt. First, ETH had it own blockchain app platform which offered a channel for others to start up a ICO project and giveaway tokens or coins. This features had draw many attentions and many successful project was started from there. However, BCH is just a hard fork of Bitcoin, where its "high value" is originated from bitcoin, not from its own feature. Also, many dumpers and whales are controlling the price of BCH.

Re: which part of bounty could be more profitable

on 25/09/2018, 15:28:06 UTC
The most efficient and commonly used bounty is the signature campaign. It a basic bounty, however it can only be use by the ranking Jr. member or above. Disadvantage of this campaign is you can only participate one project at a period of time, not very efficient. Other bounty is the social media campaign, this is more profitable compare to signature. However, you will need to spend more time on it to get the reward.

Re: Is Ethereum Mining still profitable?
by

on 20/09/2018, 15:12:23 UTC
If you just calculate the return of mining with the current price, you will probably don't get the positive value or a very long returning time due to the high cost of setups and electricity. However, if you are thinking the possible growth of ethereum in the future, then it is worth to mine, because you are investing the coin's future. From the past, ethereum reached nearly $1200, so it may back to its all time high in near future.

There are many ICO at the moment, and you will not know which one is good which one is scam. Therefore, the first thing I can recommend to do is not investing the altcoins right but want you to take a look at the coins deeper and do more research such as reading review or comments from others. Its because you make lose everything when you invest altcoin without any research.

Re: Bounty hunters are a job?
by

on 18/09/2018, 14:36:01 UTC
I will say bounty hunter can be act as a part time jobs but do not consider it as a full time jobs, which only participate it when you have free time. Bounty hunter is just like investing both of your time and money in an unknown project. However, it normally take some time to get profits, therefore a complete and fully understanding of the project is very critical. Even the project is cancelled or suspended, you still lose much if you don not invest all the time and money in it.

In my opinion, investing the crypto coins only you have enough liquid assets. It's because there's a higher chance for the coins to have a high fluctuation in crypto market compare to normal financial market. If you have enough liquidity, even there's a sudden decline, you can still wait the markets to recover, and do not need hurry to cash out. In this case, I would not recommend your friend to put all his money in the crypto market.

When the Neo was first introduced in 2017, it did drawn some attention from the investors because of it's features is very alike to Eth, or it can be said a chniese version of Eth. It was quite success at first, and Neo price was jumped to $160 because everyone was very excited on the chinese market. However, chinese government announced to halt all the crypto exchange in china, making the price dropped. That's why I support the Eth as there's no such control happened.

I get what you mean, but this is also the reason why bitcoin is still not very common in most of the area because of it's reputation usually people will related with illegal stuff. However, for those people who have a better understands on bitcoin or other altcoin such as ethereum, is willing to pay $6000 to invest in such coins. They see the potential of the bitcoin based on it's top tier protocol, advance and secure measures.

on 11/09/2018, 15:13:53 UTC
Well, I didn't sell my bitcoins or altcoins for the money. In the past year, I brought some bitcoin when the price is low. Ever since and I keep exchange differenct type of altcoin with bitcoin in order to get a slightly growth on my portfolio. It was quite smooth at first, however when the price on bitcoin suddenly dropped in the early 2018, I stopped the trading as the price has dropped nearly 2/3. Until now, I still hold all the altcoin and waiting for recovery.

The future of the financial market will definitely be the digital form, the cash transaction will be eliminated. Many fintech application are developing towards this direction in order to make a faster and more secure transaction. Bitcoin is a perfect fit in this criteria. However, the crypto coins are not very popularized, only few shops are accepting bitcoin or other crypto coins as payment method. Therefore, the future of crypto coins will depends on how popular it will be.

It is a very useful information to all the members. Everyone needs to take extra care on their crypto coin. I still remember when I first brought some Monero and stored in the online wallet, because it is easier to access compare to hardware wallet....then I was hacked and lost all my coins.....
After that, I take extra care on my wallet, try to keep it as much secure as possible. If I saw this post earier, I may not lost my coins...
Thanks for your sharing.
