Hi! We started an altcoin exchange (https://coinfresh.com) and we are evaluating which coin to add. There are so many coins out there now days it's hard to tell whats good to add. What do you guys think is a good metric to use?
What you need is trust of the altcoin investors. In the past some alt exchanges popped out from the bottom just for stealing money from people who deposited money there.
Find a way people trust you! This will also help you to add the good and promising coins.

Correct me, if I'm wrong:
Ripple was developped and held (50%) by a company, wasn't it? In this case I absolutely prefer bitcoin.
Are there some control mechanism to prevent price manipulation by their own company?
Bitcoin and Bitcoin; if you want to gamble do your research and pick one altcoin then sell it for a profit in BTC
Too unilateral to me. You can minimize a possible loss by diversify your investment. Dont go all in!

You simply dont like when somebody turns away from your beloved NXT, do you? Tell me, where do you see the future of NXT? (serious and simple question, no joke or something else)

Re: Bitcoin goes down = alts go down, Bitcoin goes up = alts go down
From what I have deduced over the past couple years, it works generally the opposite of what the thread title claims. When Bitcoin goes u the big alts go up as well, and when Bitcoin goes down the main alts go down. I think this is because most people think if Bitcoin fails then all ALT coins will fail too, as confidence from the general public about cryptocurrencies would be shattered.
I noticed there is often a time delay between bitcoin going up and the alts going up. I suspect people need some time to get confident bitcoin is really going up before they start investing in alts.
So true! It takes some hours up to one day to see an impact on alts. Same procedure when bitcoin is going down. Theoretical it is like an early-warning system and give alt-investors the possibility to avoid bigger losses. As I said it is all theoretical.
Little new here and try to read a lot. Maybe this is faster. With coin is hot at the moment? With coin has a good future?
You seems to be new here. Don't do the same mistakes I made when I started off. Would be good for your money, when you read weeks over weeks about the coins before you invest in some. First you can face some questions like what is POW, POS, POI and so on. After clearing this you are able to group the coins.

- Simple to use on almost every device. Even somebody without any experience should be able to use it. - No POW! - Should be able to run on older laptop. - Should have an integrated exchange.

I started with bitcoins early this year when the price was still high and I've read a lot about bitcoins and altcoins on telegraph and other websites. Most of the authors think Bitcoin is using the same old technology and therefore it has no chance to compete because of the lack of further improvements.
What's your opinion about it? Will a newer coin take bitcoins place in a couple of years?
Would be better to buy something new and innovative.
NEM is my favorite in this manner.
Just my two cents.
Why are the majority of your posts hit and run spam promoting NEM in random threads in short spurts (or trashing other coins) and then with weeks or months in between? ...
What have you been doing for the last 5 months? Using one of your other BTT accounts?
**NEM sockpuppet alert** It might even be the Grand Master himself, looking at the first post
Just my two cents.
... and my real accountname is Daedelus. I crack a joke, of course. But not posting some shit means not to be inactive.
The reason for my posting is the dissapointment about NXT. I invested a lot in NXT when I started off with bitcoins and so on. Now I have a big loss because of my believing in NXT's future. Maybe you have overseen it when you went trough my old posts. I had a special affinity to NXT before I gave up.

It's a pity that I haven't seen that coin before its launch.. Do you think it is still possible to mine many Moneros as a single miner?

NEM, EXO, NXT, NXTL, SC and ENRG. Hope the last two will hit a big exchange like Mintpal or bter.com during the next months.
