This is just speculation on my part but:

With most of the hashrate being on the lucky pools the diff has to go very low in order to sustain the desired block finding rate which means that way more than 1 out of 50 blocks are lucky blocks.

Seems like a lot of people started staking. At the end of mining I was staking 1.5-2 times as many blocks compared to now.
